Haslingden Primary school working with Rossendale Leisure Trust, offering a variety of fun and
enjoyable activities, throughout the Summer Holidays!
Haslingden Primary School’s out of school provider ‘SPACE’ offers early morning care from
7.30am – 9.30am providing light and healthy breakfast options and free-play activities to prepare
them for the day ahead! After care is also provided from 3.30am – 5.30am where a light snack is
also provided to keep children going until they arrive home! Children are escorted by staff to and
from the Rossendale Leisure Trust activities based in the school gymnasium. For further details please

Lunch supervision is provided each day from 12noon - 1.00pm and children must bring there own
packed lunch. Some activities may take place outdoors – weather permitting. Please ensure your
child has appropriate clothing for all weathers. Activities advertised may be changed due to
weather conditions. Bookings for ‘SPACE’ before and after club must be made 5 days in advance.
No bookings will be accepted past this time period, and there is no exception to this rule.

Week 1 - Monday 25th – Friday 29th July
A new addition to the Rossendale Leisure Trust holiday programme is our Athletics Camp which will be running at
Alder Grange High School. The programme, designed by our highly qualified and experienced athletics coaches, will
include the 3 main disciplines of athletics (Run, Jump & Throw), and also team building exercises along the way!! A
brief description of each discipline can be seen below:
Team building/ fun games: Team building games consisting of orienteering and other simple fun and games, allowing
all children to interact with each other on their first morning!
Run:
Small relay races using a variety of different equipment such as: hurdles, bean bags,
balance beams and speed bounce just to name a few!
Jump: Introduction to the technique of the three main jumps; long jump, triple jump and weather
permitting high jump!
Throw: Introduction to the technique of the four main throws; hammer, javelin, shot put and discus
all with soft indoor equipment!

9.30am – 11.30am each day, with four mornings costing £18.
Places are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment. A packed
lunch is required everyday.

coaching courses open to EVERYONE in Rossendale and surrounding areas, at Haslingden
Sports Centre (outside and/or inside – depending on the weather) during the 2011 summer
school holidays.
