LOSS 4—1 TO UNIV. OF DUBUQUE
The team battled hard against our fellow regionally ranked
opponent, but ultimately a strong second half by the Spartans led
to the Dutch loss. Liz Daniels scored the lone goal in the first half.
WIN @ Coe, 2–1
The first IIAC win for the Dutch came on Saturday,
October 5 in Cedar Rapids. The Dutch got goals from
Brit Hinton (assist Liz Daniels) and the game-winner
from Alayna Bailey.
WIN 4-0 @ Westminster (MO)
LOSS 2-0 TO WARTBURG
A great game that featured good play by the Dutch,
who ultimately couldn’t find the net in this even
match-up.
A road trip to Missouri left the
Dutch with another win for the
season. Julie Wunder got the
game-winner in the second
minute off a pass from Alayna
Bailey. Alayna added the next
goal, Emily Saville had the third,
and Julie finished the scoring. It
was a game dominated by the
Dutch!
TIE 0-0 WITH NE-WESLEYAN
A hard-fought battle ended in a
scoreless draw last Tuesday.
WIN at BVU, 7-0
FOR THE PAST MONTH THE DUTCH HAVE EITHER
BEEN REGIONALLY RANKED (#10 & #9) OR RECEIVED VOTES BY THE NSCAA!

2013 SEASON SENIOR CLASS
HANNAH DAVY is
the daughter of Bob
and Zona Davy and
is majoring in Biology with minors in
Chemistry and Exercise Science. Her sister had a
huge influence on her choosing Central College,
plus she wanted to continue to play soccer. During
her four-year career she has been named AllConference and voted by the team for the Hustle,
Offensive Player of the Year, and Best Newcomer
Awards. Her favorite soccer memory is making the
conference tournament and TP-ing Coach’s house
the night before the game. She also enjoyed throwing all the freshmen in the pond one day this fall.
Hannah plans to continue school after graduation
with the hopes of working in the dental or medical
field. Good luck, Hannah!
ALYSSA FULLER is the daughter of John
and Debbie and is majoring in Sociology.
Alyssa chose Central College because she
really wanted to play for the soccer team,
plus she liked the small campus size and
friendly atmosphere. She has been a fouryear letter winner and received the team
voted Most Improved Award in 2012.
When asked what her favorite soccer
memory is she responded: “Every
memory I have of Central College soccer
is my favorite. Our team has come a long
way to get to where we are now and I’m so
proud to have been a part of it. I am so
lucky to have gotten the chance to play
with such a great group of hard-working
girls”. Alyssa plans to move to the west
coast and possibly continue on to graduate
school after graduation. Congratulations,
Alyssa!
Larry and Lisa
ALAYNA BAILEY is the daughter of
and is an Exercise Science/Health
Promotion major
with a psychology minor. The reason she chose Central College was because she
like Pella and she wanted to play soccer; after an overnight visit she realized this was
the place for her! She has been a four-year varsity player, named captain for two
seasons, and received All-Conference honors for two years. She cited the team trip
to the Netherlands as a great and her favorite experience. Alayna plans to find a job
in geriatrics after graduation, using her health promotion degree to work with this
population. Congratulations, Alayna!
JULIE WUNDER is the daughter of John and Ann and is majoring in Athletic Training
with a minor in Spanish. She chose Central College because of the educational Athletic Training program and the chance to play soccer. She has been a four-year varsity team member while maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA and being named to the
Dean’s List three times. She is involved with CAATs (Club
Associated with Athletic Training) and studied abroad in Spain
during her Spring 2013 semester. Her favorite soccer memory
is when the team travelled together to Holland in the Spring of
2012. Julie plans to attend graduate school to study Sports
Psychology while continuing her athletic training profession.
Good luck in future endeavors, Julie!
KELSEY SCHIPPERS is the daughter of Brian and Susan. She is
majoring in Business Management with an administrative emphasis
and is minoring in not-for-profit. She plans to work or partner for an
international sports ministry organization. Kelsey has been named
to the Dean’s List and Academic All-Conference team during her
four years in the Dutch uniform. Growing up in Pella, she saw the
college’s close knit community and realized it was something she
wanted to be a part of; plus she wanted to wear the Central uniform
after growing up watching the team play. Her favorite memory with
the team includes the trip to the Netherlands, but a close second is
getting “stuck” in the library elevator with teammates Alayna and
Molly. Best wishes, Kelsey, after graduation!
MOLLY POTTS is the daughter of Russ and Becky
and is majoring in business management. She
chose Central College because she wanted a
smaller campus environment and really enjoyed
her visit as a prospective student. During her four
years with the program she has also been named
to the Dean’s List. Her favorite soccer memory is
going to Holland with the team in 2012 and getting
“stuck” in the library elevator with Kelsey and
Alayna freshman year. After
graduation she
plans to find a
job in the business field. Congratulations,
