Our summer classes provide you with a variety of lower division transfer and job training classes at times to fit your schedule. They are excellent ways for you to start college. About Pre-and-Co-Requisites Certain Berkeley City College courses have prerequisites or corequisites. Pre-and-corequisites are listed in italics below the course title. Courses with prerequisites, corequisites and recommended preparation are implemented in accordance with Title 5 regulations and Board Policy. For more information about pre-and-corequisites, consult a BCC counselor. Students who complete prerequisites outside the Peralta District must submit a copy of an unofficial transcript or grade report when they enroll. Remember These Important Dates* For Summer Session Classes— June 20 June 26 Summer Classes begin. Last day to drop regular session classes and receive a refund. Short-term and open-entry classes must be dropped within 10% of the first class meeting to receive a refund. June 26 Last day to drop regular session classes without a "W" appearing on transcripts.** June 26 Last day to add classes. June 30 Census day. June 30 Last day to file for Pass/No Pass grading option. June 30 Last day to file petitions for AA/AS Degree or Certificate. July 4 Holiday. Classes do not meet. July 19 Last day to withdraw from regular summer classes with a W. All fees are due, even if classes are dropped on this day. July 19 Attendance verification day. July 28 Summer Session ends. Aug. 4 Grade Rosters/Rollbooks Due *Dates subject to change. **Last day to drop without a "W" appearing on your transcript may vary for Short-Term and Open Entry, Open Exit classes. 2016 Summer Class Schedule 2 How to Register For Berkeley City College's 2016 Summer Session Monday, June 20 to Thursday, July 28 (Classes do not meet and the college is closed on Fridays during the summer. You may register at Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney or Merritt colleges for Summer Session classes; you may also register on the Internet at www.berkeleycitycollege. edu or at www.peralta.edu). Please note that the colleges are closed Friday, May 20; Monday, May 30; and Monday, July 4, 2016. New, Former and High School Students Apply for Summer 2016 You are a new student if you never have attended a Peralta college. You are a former student if you were enrolled before Fall 2015. New and returning student enrollment begins Monday, May 2. High school student enrollment begins Monday, May 9. Step 1: Follow registration and enrollment instructions on p. 20 (back cover). Step 2: Make an appointment for Assessment at (510-9812804). Step 3: Enrollment (you will be given an enrollment appointment when you apply). Step 4: Check your e-mail for enrollment confirmation. It will lead you to an assessment date or to an appointment date to add your classes. Priority Enrollment For Continuing Students (Enrolled in Fall 2015 or Spring 2016) You will receive an appointment via e-mail. You may enroll online by appointment beginning Thur., Apr. 14. Priority appointments for CalWORKs, CARE, DSP&S, EOPS, Foster Youth, Veteran students begin Mon., Apr. 11. Priority appointments for First Year Experience (FYE), New Matriculated Students (who have taken COUN 200), and Student Athletes begin Wed., Apr. 13. Enrollment Fees** The current California community college enrollment fee for students who have lived continuously in the state one or more years is $46 per unit. Out-of state-students pay $266 per unit (the cost includes the $46 per unit enrollment fee). International students pay $272 per unit, which includes the $46 per unit enrollment fee, plus a Capital Outlay Fee up to $144 per year; and a $15 summer Health Services Fee.
