Wood [email protected] What a great looking group!!!! 13TH ANNUAL CORVAIR SPRING WARM-UP True to form, the Central Carolina Corsa sponsored another great show on March 12-14 at Myrtle Beach. The weather was perfect and the awards were given to the following club members: Early 4-door models: Early convertible: Late hardtop: Games of skill: Norma Callahan & Rick/Lisa Wood Jim Cleese Joel Swaney Don & Karen Marlowe Lisa Wood and Fran Pittman entered the "PMS" Express in the valve cover races. While the car was not a winner on the track, it was a great hit. With some fine tuning and refinement, next time it might be the winner. Quite a few members of the Lowcountry Corvair Association attended the weekend event and a great time was had by all. Thanks to all the members of Central Carolina Corsa for organizing and sponsoring this annual event. It represents a lot of "hard work & planning" by their club and it is most appreciated. AIR COOLED NEWS Page 2 Secrataries Report——Meeting Minutes—-March 2010 Lowcountry Corvair Association Meeting Minutes from March 11, 2010 meeting. Vice President Donn Pittman brought the meeting to order at 7:30 pm on March 11, 2010, at Perkins. MINUTES: January’s minutes were accepted as printed in the Newsletter. TREASURER’S REPORT: Report was made by the Treasurer, Paul Broyles, and was approved as presented. MEMBERSHIP REPORT: Delivered by Fran Pittman. CORRESPONDENCE: Frank Lux put all of the correspondence on the silent auction table to be read and perused by the club. UPCOMING CAR SHOWS: Lisa has done a wonderful job listing all of the upcoming car shows in the Newsletter. Rick Wood reported that the Corvette Club is planning an indoor car show to be held at the Shriner’s in Mt. Pleasant for August 21 or 28. Registration will be $20 or $25. There will be a 75 car limit. Show proceeds will go to the Shriner’s Hospital. Rick is going to try to talk the Corvette Club into having a Corvair Class. The show is going to be called The Summer Cool Down. OLD BUSINESS: (1) ROAD TRIP TO BLACKVILLE. Jim reported that the trip to Blackville went well. There were 11 cars. Donn and Frank toured North, SC. Everyone loved the Interpretive Center and the healing springs. The food, bread and pies were excellent. (2) Rick Wood is still trying to have the web site turned over to the club. NEW BUSINESS: (1) There was discussion regarding having embroidery patches and decals made up for the club. TECHNICAL SESSION: No tech session scheduled for March. GOOD OF THE CLUB: (1) Rick Wood picked up Norma’s car, put a new seal on it, and brought it back to Norma so that she would be safe to drive to Myrtle Beach. Thanks to Rick.
