Window Surrounds Cast ArcusStonecoat keystone ArcusStonecoat Field Applied or Coated Foam ArcusPlaster ArcusStonecoat Field Applied or Coated Foam Window Surrounds are generally emphasized in stone construction, either for aesthetic reasons or because the structure of the wall is more strongly expressed. Keystones, lintel blocks, window sills and so forth are often exposed and can be elaborately carved to create a unique design statement. The elevation drawings that follow show a wide variety of traditional window surround styles, from simple to complex, which can be created by combining field applied ArcusStone finishes with coated foam and cast ArcusStone shapes. Designers are encouraged to choose a style appropriate for their project or to use the designs as inspiration for creating custom styles. The size of the elements of window surrounds should be proportional with the size of the opening, although it is often true that the style and size of a surround will stay constant for the variety of sizes and shapes of windows found in typical project. The style drawings may be used as guides, but the designer should indicate stone layouts and typical sizes on their elevations if possible. The following information must be indicated on drawings to properly specify the products and allow the applicator to do accurate cost estimating: 1. Size of window opening. 2. Quantity of each style of window surround. 3. Detail of window frame - recessed , flush, or protruding. 4. Stone Texture 5. Stone Color 6. Surround Style (as shown on drawings that follow, or custom). 7. Selection of cast stone molding style, keystone style, etc., as required for selected surround style.
