Our Regulatory Compliance
Standards
We have a dedicated full-time team with more than 45 collective years of
experience in the regulatory environment lead by Kay Knox, Regulatory
Affairs Manager.
We adhere to the highest standards of regulatory compliance in an
evolving legal environment concerning prescription drugs, devices
and controlled substances. Compliance with drug pedigree laws, which
requires documentation of the movement of prescription drugs from
the manufacturer through the “normal chain of distribution” to our
customers, reduces the risk of counterfeit or adulterated product from
entering the market and ensures efficacy of the products we sell.
Henry Schein holds DEA registrations and licenses with State Boards
of Pharmacy as required by law, and has obtained Verified Accredited
Wholesale Distributor (VAWD) certification. In order to obtain these
credentials, Henry Schein has demonstrated compliance with state
and federal requirements regarding safety, security, storage and
handling of prescription drugs.
Industry Partnerships
Henry Schein Animal Health is a proud member, advocate,
and sponsor of Partners for Healthy Pets, created by the
Partnership for Preventive Pet Health Care™, a three-year initiative to
stand solidly with the veterinary health care profession (AVMA, AAHA
and manufacturer suppliers like IDEXX) to deliver support, tools and
education that will ultimately translate into improved preventive care for
pets. The partnership is comprised of 16 leading veterinary associations
and animal health companies dedicated to ensuring that pets receive
the preventive health care they deserve through regular visits to a
veterinarian. Learn more at: www.partnersforhealthypets.org
Commitment to Global
Social Responsibility
As the size of Henry Schein, Inc.’s global business has grown, so has
the scope of our global corporate social responsibility program, Henry
Schein Cares, an initiative that is dedicated to “helping health happen.”
Henry Schein Cares was established on a philosophy of enlightened selfinterest – a belief that we can “do well by doing good” – which Benjamin
Franklin advocated centuries ago. Enlightened self-interest is not just
randomly giving money or resources to any worthy cause in need. As
the Harvard Business Review noted in 2006, it is an opportunity to create
shared value for society and the business. Because no single corporation
can solve all of society’s problems, a company must select issues that
intersect with its particular business. In Henry Schein’s case, we seek to
expand access to care for the underserved around the world. This is our
higher ambition.
