Truck Stop Gallery Info Greeting fellow artists! I am your point person for all things TRUCK STOP GALLERY (TSG) for this year’s OPEN STUDIOS Sat/Sun June 4th-­‐5th! Last year we had six artists displaying works of art inside (and outside) of the trucks and it was a huge success! Please read the following carefully if you are considering participating in this year’s TSG, and refer back to it for all your TSG needs. All artists must be PAA members in good standing. To participate in OPEN STUDIOS, your fee must be paid as well as your general member dues. Truck rental Ideal size is the 15 ft U-­‐Haul truck NOTE: Reservations must be made with U-­‐Haul 3 weeks before Open Studios U-­‐Haul Locations: www.uhaul.com (you can reserve online!) Cortlandt Manor (914) 734-­‐2232 U-­‐Haul 1000 Lower South St. Peekskill, NY (914) 737-­‐0609 U-­‐Haul 1075 Washington Street Peekskill, NY (914) 734-­‐2232 Cost 15ft. truck: $29.95/day plus $1.19/mile You will need the truck for both Saturday and Sunday. At the end of Open Studios weekend, you can drop it off Sunday night and leave the key in the drop-­‐box at your U-­‐Haul location, OR you can bring it back Monday morning. TSG Location: The TSG is located in the parking lot on Central Ave. just steps away from the Gazebo which is Open Studios Information Center. We have great access and visibility from the street (cars driving up and down Central Ave) as well as pedestrian foot traffic. -­‐-­‐Each artist with a truck will be assigned one parking space for your truck. There will also be an additional parking space to park your car if need be. -­‐-­‐If you would like to SHARE a truck with one other artist, that is perfectly acceptable. -­‐-­‐At the end of Open Studios day 1 (Saturday) simply roll down the back door of your truck and lock it up. The next day (Sunday) open back up for business! Artwork -­‐-­‐Each artist is encouraged to “spruce up” their truck and display work to individual taste. -­‐-­‐Each artist is responsible for hanging/displaying your own work. The trucks do have slats where small nails can be hammered in to hang artwork. -­‐-­‐Each artist is allowed to set up a small table outside your truck provided it doesn’t infringe on someone else’s space. -­‐-­‐Please consider the weather for your artwork and health! Last two years we had perfect weather, but please be prepared in case the weather calls for extreme heat or rain. -­‐-­‐TSG is operational rain or shine. Other -­‐-­‐You will have access to electricity should you need to set up additional lighting in your truck. (Bring extension cords!) -­‐-­‐We will have access to the bathrooms at the Chamber of Commerce across the street. -­‐-­‐Be sure to bring snacks, water/beverages, promotional material, and dress comfortably for the weather.
