August Events
Dear Community Members - Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah.
Look inside...
I am thankful to Allah (SWT) to have had such a wonderful year at AYA with
countless successes and accomplishments. The end of April and beginning of
May saw the first complete online testing experience at AYA. Alhamdulillah,
with the addition of a second computer lab in the library, we were able to test
as many as 53 students at one time. We are planning to have additional
hardware added next fall and test as many as 85 students at once, insha’Allah.

Dear Boys and Girls,
I can’t believe our time together has come
to an end. I want you to know how much
I enjoyed being with you – we had a lot of
fun together. I hope you learned a lot and
had as great a year in Kindergarten as I
did teaching you. You are a great group of
children, and I know you’ll do well. Enjoy
your summer, grow some more, lose some
more teeth, and I wish you
well in first grade!
Love, Sr. June

5 Grade!!
You started off timid and just a bit afraid. Now, you
are just that much more assured. You toiled and you
cried, and squeezed your brain juices. Now, you are
that much sharper. The time for summer has finally
come. Use it wisely, but don't forget to play. The time
for graduation has finally come. Rejoice! Have fun!
There's more hard work to come! Being your teacher
has been such a blast. Please don't forget me before
you break your fast! - Love, Sr. Samira - 5A
Thank you for a wonderful year! Every day you gave me
the opportunity to not only teaches you, but you taught
me, as well. We learned from each other. You inspired
me to become a better teacher and Muslim. I will never
forget you. I wish you all the best in middle school and
beyond! Just remember, “Wisdom is not a product of
schooling, but a lifelong attempt to acquire it." - Albert

Islamic Day is a day
of wonder,
A day of pride, no
lighting nor
thunder.
We gather together
in the masjid,
And sing the
nasheed, because it
gives us Rashid.
We wear pure cloth
like scarves on our
head, jalabeebs
made out of thread.
We start at eight but
that’s not too late
because with Allah
we will always be.

My closet has a lot of things,
I even found a turtle that sings,
Like clothes, shoes, and diamond rings.
Because my closet has a lot of things.
I even found a rusty swing,
Because my closet has a lot of things.
My closet has a lot of things,

My closet has a lot of things,

Like pencils, paper, and fuzzy string.
I even found an old man from Beijing,
I even found a rich old king,
Because my closet has a lot of things.
