The Call of Abraham

Genesis 12:1 — “Now the LORD had said unto Abraham, get out of your country, and from
your kindred, and from your father’s house, unto a land that I will show you.”
Whatever it is that
God calls us to do,
it is always beyond
what we would, at
first, see or think.
THE REVELATION
THE CALL OF GOD
The phrase, “Now the LORD had said unto Abraham,” if it is to be noticed, refers to instructions
that had been given to the patriarch sometime
previously.
Whatever it is that God calls us to do, it is
always beyond what we would, at first, see
or think. Embodied in the call, is not only a
work to be done, but, as well, the ingredients
for spiritual growth. With the Holy Spirit, it is
always growth. And to be frank, the growth
must be brought about or the work cannot
be done. And here I would dwell, for a little,
on the Cross of Christ. There is only one way
all of this can be achieved, and that’s by and
through the Cross. If we do not understand the
Cross, then we cannot really understand the
way of God. In fact, if the Cross is removed
from Christianity, Christianity then loses its
Power (I Cor. 1:18), and for all practical purposes, becomes little more than the religions of
the world. While it might have a better ethic,
it’s an ethic that really cannot be reached without the Cross.
Chapter 12 of Genesis is very important, for it
records the first steps of this great believer in
the path of faith. There were believers before
him (a few), but the Scripture speaks of him as
the father of all believers who would come after
him (Rom. 4:16).
While Abraham obeyed, it seems that family
ties, at first, held him back. Though called to
Canaan he, nevertheless, tarried at Haran till
nature’s tie was snapped by death, and then,
with unimpeded step, he made his way to the
place to which the God of glory had called him.
All of this is very full of meaning. The flesh is
ever a hindrance to the full power of the call of
God. We tend to settle for less than that which
God intends.
We are slow to learn that everything we need,
and I mean everything, is found totally and
completely in Christ. While we are quick to
say amen to the words I have just dictated, we
are slow to actually come to the place of full
surrender. Self-will hinders! The flesh hinders! However, we make excuses for all of this,
by loading the flesh in self-will with religious
phraseology.

THE CROSS OF CHRIST
The Cross unfolds God as the sinner’s friend.
It reveals Christ in that most wondrous character, as the righteous Justifier of the most
ungodly sinner.
Someone once asked me, “Is it who He is, or
what He did, that makes the difference?”
Only Christ could do what needed to be done to
redeem fallen humanity; however, even though
Christ is God and has always been God, on that

premise alone, no one was redeemed.
God would have to become man and
go to the Cross, if man was to be lifted
out of his fallen state. So, in the final
alternative, even though who He was
presents an absolute necessity, in reality, it was what He did, and we speak
of the Cross, which guarantees salvation for even the vilest of sinners.
FIRST: GOD LOVES YOU!
“For God so loved the world that he gave His only Begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but
have Everlasting Life” (Jn. 3:16).
SECOND: MAN IS A SINNER, AND SIN
HAS SEPARATED HIM FROM GOD
“For there is not a just man upon Earth, that doeth good
and sinneth not” (Eccl. 7:20).
“For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God”
(Rom. 3:23).
THIRD: JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY REMEDY FOR SIN
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for
the unjust, that He might bring us to God ...” (I Pet. 3:18).
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we
must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
THE INTRODUCTION OF
THE CROSS
The power of God, with all its wisdom,
glory, holiness, and magnitude, but
for the Cross, works against the sinner.
How precious, therefore, is the Cross,
in this, its first phase, as the basis of
the sinner’s peace, the basis of his worship, and the basis of his eternal relationship with the God who is there so
blessedly and so gloriously revealed.
All that He has said, all that He has
done, from the very beginning, indicates that the Cross was ever uppermost in His heart. And no wonder!
His dear and well-beloved Son was
to hang there, between heaven and
earth, the object of all the shame and
suffering that men and devils could
heap upon Him, shedding His life’s
blood, all because He loved to do His
Father’s will, and, thereby, redeemed
the children of His grace.
THE CROSS AND THE
WORLD
The same Cross which connects me
with God has separated me from the
world. A dead man is, evidently, done
with the world; and to be sure, every
true believer died with Christ as it
regards His death, burial, and resurrection (Rom. 6:3-5). Having risen
with Christ, we are now connected
with God in the power of a new life,
even a new nature. Being thus inseparably linked with Christ, we, of necessity, participate in our acceptance
with God, and in our rejection by the
world. The two things go together.

FOURTH: YOU MUST RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST
AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR
The former makes us a worshipper and
a citizen of heaven, while the latter
makes us a witness and a stranger
on earth. If the Cross has become
between me and my sins, it has just
as readily come between me and the
world. In the former case, it puts me
into the place of peace with God; in
the latter, it puts me into the place of
hostility with the world.
THE CROSS AND
SEPARATION
The believer cannot profess to enjoy
the former of our heading, while
rejecting the latter. If one’s ear is
opened to hear Christ’s voice within
the veil, it should be open also to hear
His voice outside the camp; if one
enters into the atonement, which the
Cross has accomplished, one should
also realize the rejection that it necessarily involves.
It is our happy privilege not only to be
done with our sins, but to be done with
the world also. All this is involved in
the doctrine of the Cross. That’s why
Paul said:
“God forbid that I should glory, save in the
Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom
the world is crucified unto me, and I unto
the world” (Gal. 6:14). This means that
Paul looked upon the world as a thing,
which ought to be nailed to the Cross.

Jesus calls this experience the new birth. He told
Nicodemus: “... Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the Kingdom of God” (Jn. 3:3).
We invite you now to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as
your personal Saviour. “But as many as received Him,
to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to
them that believe on His Name” (Jn. 1:12).

Healing of the human body in answer to believing

(Num. 23:9). This means that Israel
would be totally unlike any other
nation that had ever existed.

Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted”
(Num. 24:7).
You are bought with a price, and a great price at that, and even though

The phrase, “Get out of your country,
and from your kindred, and from your
father’s house,” proclaims the reason
that many cannot be used of God.
They refuse to separate themselves
from certain things in this world and,
therefore, unto God.
The following is what the Lord
demanded of Abraham and, in effect,
demands of us all:
• Get out of your country: The
true believer seeks a country simply
because that which the world offers
can never satisfy and, therefore, simply
will not do (Heb. 11:14). The things of
this world lose their attraction. Money
is a means to an end. The old song
that says, “This world is not my home,
I’m just a passing through,” becomes
the song of the redeemed. If one lays
up treasures here, one’s heart will be
here simply because one’s heart is
where one’s treasure is.
• Separate from your kindred:
Now you belong to Christ. You are
bought with a price, and a great price
at that, and even though you continue
to love your family, even love them
deeply, Christ, and what He wants
and desires, takes precedent over
your family and anyone else for that
matter. Regrettably, many aren’t willing to do that.
• From your father’s house: This
refers to whatever future close loved
ones have planned for you. As stated,
you now belong to Christ. Anything
and everything that might be detrimental in your father’s house must be
laid aside. In effect, you leave every-
thing and do so for the sake of Christ.
Now, as stated, many will not do that.
And, as a result, God simply cannot
use them. Or else, they quit altogether, which tragically is the course
it seems, for many.
• Unto a land that I will show
you: This refers to the fact that Abraham had no choice in the matter. He
was to receive his orders from the Lord,
and go where those orders led him. In
many ways, living for God is similar to
the military. While personally, I’ve never served
in the military, still from
what I see, there isn’t a lot
of difference, or at least it
shouldn’t be a lot of difference, in the Army of
this nation and the Army
of our Lord.
MONOTHEISTIC
In fact, in Old Testament times, Israel
was the only nation in the world that
was monotheistic, meaning she worshipped one God, Jehovah. All the
other nations were polytheistic, meaning they worshipped many gods, in
essence demon spirits. So, Israel was
the only light in the world of her day.
A GREAT NATION
“And I will make of you a
great nation, and I will bless
you, and make your name
great; and you shall be a
blessing” (Gen. 12:2).
The phrase, “And I will make of you a
great nation,” pertains to Israel and
all of its people, and for all time. The
nation of which God was speaking
did not exist at this time. And besides
that, Sarah was barren.
And yet, this nation would be totally
unlike any nation the world had ever
known. Some 400 years later, a wayward prophet would say by the Spirit
of God, “For from the top of the rocks I
see him, and from the hills I behold him:

the world the Word of God, which has
blessed the world immeasurably. And
even greater than that, they served as
the womb of the Messiah, so to speak,

the Lord took His hand of blessing away from them. Consequently, in A.D. 70, they, in effect, ceased to be a nation,
totally destroyed by the Roman Tenth Legion under Titus.
As strangers, they have wandered the world for about
1,900 years, when once again establishing themselves
in their ancient homeland, and once again becoming a
nation. And yet, they have some dark days ahead, in fact,
darker than anything they have seen in the past. Jesus
said so (Mat. 24:21). It will take that for them to finally
accept Christ, the One they have rejected. This they will
do (Zech. 13:1, 6). Israel will then be restored, never to lose
her way again (Rom. 11:26-27).
A BLESSING
The phrase, “And I will bless you, and make your name great,”
claims the favor of God. According to Scripture, to bless
means “to increase.” Abraham would be blessed, and so
would Israel.
The words, I will bless, indicate relations very close between
Jehovah and Abraham, whereby the friends and enemies
of the one, become so equally to the other.
The phrase, “And you shall be a blessing,” concerns itself with
the greatest blessing of all. It is the glory of Abraham’s
faith. God would give this man the meaning of salvation,
which is justification by faith. This blessing, the great
patriarch would pass on to the entirety of the world.
Of course, the greatest blessing of all, and by far, is that
Israel, as we have stated, would serve as the womb of the
Messiah, the Saviour of mankind, the King of kings and
the Lord of lords, the One who is all in all. Regrettably and
sadly, Israel did not know her Redeemer when He came and,
in fact, crucified Him, which was the most dastardly deed

ever carried out by wicked hearts. But
thank God, and not too very long into
the future, they are going to accept the
One whom they rejected. It will be at
the second coming, and to be sure, He
most definitely is coming back.
THE BLESSING AND
THE CURSE
“And I will bless them who bless you,
and curse him who curses you: and in
you shall all the families of the earth be
blessed” (Gen. 12:3).
The phrase, “And I will bless them who
bless you, and curse him who curses you,”
holds true not only for Israel, but,
as well, for spiritual Israel, i.e., the
church; i.e., those who are truly born
again. Let’s look first at Israel.
At least part of the reason that America has experienced such blessings is
because of our protection of Israel.
This promise given to Abraham by
God nearly 4,000 years ago holds true
even unto this hour and, in fact, will
ever hold true.
It holds true for Israel; and it holds
true for the church as well, and I speak
of the true church. All those who bless
the work of God can expect blessings
from the Lord, and it doesn’t really
matter who they are.
As well, if a nation or a people oppose
Israel, or the work of God presently,
God has said that He will personally
curse that nation or people. And please
understand, if God curses anything,
which means to hinder that nation or
person, to be sure, trouble will be their
continued lot. Of all the problems
which presently beset our nation at
this particular time, the worst of all is
that it seems like the Obama Administration is giving Israel precious little
help. Although little understood or
recognized by most of the general
public, to be sure, it is recognized by
God, and if continued, will cut off the
flow of blessings to this nation. To be
sure, God meant what He said, and
said what He meant, when He said, “I
will bless them who bless you, and curse
him who curses you.” If we forget this,
we do so at our peril.
And then two women—a mother and
her daughter—came to our little town
to build a church. The year was 1939.
The lady and her daughter were the
mother and sister of Lester Sumrall.
ALL THE FAMILIES OF
THE EARTH
A small church was built. In fact, my
uncle, who was a millionaire, in whose
home I was born, loaned the money to
build the church.
The phrase, “In you shall all families of
the earth be blessed,” concerns a blessing of unprecedented proportions.
It speaks of Israel giving
the world the Word of
God, and more particularly bringing the Messiah
into the world. Through
Christ, every family in the
world who desires blessing
from God can have that
blessing. While the word
blessing covers a wide territory, the greatest blessing of all, would be, and
is, justification by faith,
which is made possible to
every believing soul as it
regards the price paid of
the Lord Jesus Christ at
the Cross of Calvary.
A PERSONAL BLESSING
First of all, I want to say how much I
thank God that my family got in on
this blessing, this promise given to
Abraham so long, long ago.
In fact, every time I read this third
verse of Genesis, Chapter 12, I think
of the time this blessing came to our
house.
I was born on March 15, 1935 into a
home that did not know God. In fact,
until my dad was 25 years old, he had
never been inside of a Church, not one
single time. He had never heard a
gospel song and had never even seen
a Bible, much read one. My mother’s
experience was very similar. They
tried to be good moral people, but
without God, such is a fruitless task.
My entire family was saved in that
church. And, as a result, I accepted
Christ when I was 8 years old. I was
baptized with the Holy Spirit a few
weeks later. I do not know all the
reasons that this great gospel of Jesus
Christ was brought to our town, and
ultimately to our family. But, by the
grace of God, this blessing came to us;
consequently, I feel as Paul said so long
ago when he said, “I am debtor” (Rom.
1:14). I must do everything within my
power to help take this glorious gospel
to others. As I had the privilege to
hear, they must have the privilege to
hear as well!
ABRAHAM DEPARTED
“So Abram departed, as the LORD had
spoken unto him; and Lot went with him:
and Abram was seventy and five years
old when he departed out of Haran”
(Gen. 12:4).
So Abraham starts for the better land.

This was his first surrender; there were
seven in all:
• He surrenders here his native land
(Gen. 12:1).
never quite obey totally. They make it
to Haran, but they never quite make
it all the way to Canaan, or else they
arrive late.
• He surrenders his family (Gen. 12:1).
CANAAN
•He then surrenders the plain of
Jordan (Gen. 13:9-11).
“And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot
his brother’s son, and all their substance
that they had gathered, and the souls
that they had gotten in Haran; and they
went forth to go into the Land of Canaan;
and into the Land of Canaan they came”
(Gen. 12:5).
•He then surrenders the riches of
Sodom (Gen. 14:21-23).
• He surrenders self (Gen. 17:4-8).
•
He
then
surrenders
(Gen. 21:9-21).
Ishmael
•And lastly, he surrenders Isaac
(Gen. 22:9-14).
Each painful surrender was followed
by increased spiritual wealth.
The Holy Spirit, through Moses, calls
attention to the fact that Abraham
was 75 years old when he departed out
of Haran.
Why does He note this?
From the time that God revealed
Himself to Abraham to the time that
he obeyed the command might have
been several years. Maybe there was
a struggle there of which we aren’t
aware. We know that he did not
leave Haran until his father, Terah,
died. That seems to be the lot of many
Christians. They go halfway; in other
words, while they obey partially, they

meaning that they were trained to
fight as soldiers. They were totally
loyal to Abraham, actually born in his
household. In fact, there may have
been as many as 1,000 people in this
entourage.
Also, Abraham was extremely rich
in silver and gold as well as flocks
and herds. In other words, he was a
mighty man, and quite possibly, one
of the richest men in the East and,
thereby, the world. And yet, as far as
the comfort of Ur was concerned, he
willingly left it all. In the leaving, he
did not cease to be rich, and he did not
cease to be mighty, but he gained the
greatest riches of all—the knowledge
of Jehovah.
THE CANAANITE
for Abraham! He finds the hateful,
impure, and hostile Canaanite in
God’s land. This was faith’s first trial;
his heart would be tempted to question the fact that this was God’s land,
for how could the Canaanite be in
God’s land?
So, in the present day the young
believer expects, after conversion, to
find nothing in his nature hostile to
Christ, but is distressed and perplexed
very soon to painfully learn that, alas,
the Canaanite is in the land, and he
is now commencing a lifelong battle
with what the New Testament refers to
as “the flesh.”

“And Abram passed through the land
into the place of Sichem, unto the plain
of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in
the land” (Gen. 12:6).
At long last, Abraham now finds himself in the Promised Land. Thus it is
presently. The Holy Spirit says, “Believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be
saved.” The sinner believes and he is
saved. Into the Land of Canaan he
comes—the Promised Land. This is
the first step in the life of faith.
But what an unexpected experience

Genesis 21:9-12 – “And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham,
mocking. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of
this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. And the thing was very grievous in
Abraham's sight because of his son. And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight
because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken
unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.”
Ishmael—a work
of the flesh—could
not continue to coexist with Isaac—a
work of the Spirit.
AN EMAIL I RECEIVED and read on Frances &
Friends compared this complex situation between
Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac, and Hagar and Ishmael
to the Syrian refugees now living among us in the
United States of America.
In the book of Genesis, Sarah sees Ishmael mocking. This was an ongoing problem that was never
going to stop. Ishmael—a work of the flesh—
could not continue to co-exist with Isaac—a work
of the Spirit. Had Sarah not voiced her concern
to Abraham, it is quite possible that Ishmael’s
mocking would have resulted in the murder of
their promise child, Isaac.
Consider these notes regarding Ishmael and Isaac
from my husband’s Bible commentary:
“But as then he that was born after the flesh
persecuted him that was born after the spirit,
even so it is now” (Gal. 4:29).
Paul is referring to an incident in Genesis
Chapter 21. Isaac is being weaned. It is
possible that he was upward of 5 years old,
and if so, Ishmael would have been about 19.
(In Gen. 21:9) the implication is that Ishmael
was mocking Isaac and possibly Sarah as well.
As Paul describes in Galatians 4:29, the word
persecuted is understood by some Greek
scholars as to imply murder. And Scripture
confirms it. In other words, Ishmael hated Isaac,
and actually wanted to murder him. This was
why Sarah asked that Hagar and her son be
sent away.
Praise the Lord, Sarah did speak up. Since the life
of her only son was at stake, she did not mince
words. Neither was Sarah concerned about being
politically correct when she told Abraham, “Cast
out this bondwoman and her son.”
Of course the situation was a very painful one for
Abraham because Ishmael was his son. Surely it
was an extremely difficult decision for him to make
and to follow through by sending Ishmael and his

mother out from under his care and protection.
But he listened to Sarah—as the Lord told him to
do—and Abraham obeyed God.
I do see a correlation between this truth from
Genesis and the Muslim refugees who live among
us in the United States of America.
My question is this: Can Muslims and Christians
continue to co-exist in this country? Ishmael and
Isaac reached a point where they could not.
Every day the media reports evidence of growing
tensions between Islam and Christianity. As the
Muslim community grows in America, so does
its desire to dominate in our schools, cities, and
government.
THE CURRENT SITUATION
President Obama decided that America will
become the new and permanent home for
10,000 Syrian refugees in FY16—a number that
is expected to increase. Nearly 1,500 are already
here. The U.S. will accept 85,000 refugees from
around the world in 2016 and 100,000 in 2017,
according to Secretary of State John Kerry.
The president’s decision did not require congressional approval and was apparently made without
discussion of alternatives to migration, such as
assisting the refugees in camps nearest to their
homelands. There seems to be an agenda in place
to uproot these people and force them into the
European Union, with increasing pressure on the
U.S. to take in its fair share.
America was even admonished on the issue by
Pope Francis who spoke to Congress from his temporary U.S. pulpit: “We need to avoid a common
temptation nowadays: to discard whatever proves
troublesome.”
That’s an odd statement to make to a country that
has given so much in humanitarian aid to countries
in crisis. Syria has been no exception.
From FY12 to FY15, the U.S. government has
given more than $4.5 billion in assistance to the
Syrian humanitarian response, according to the
agency primarily responsible for administering
civilian foreign aid—the United States Agency for
International Development.
In addition to these billions of U.S. dollars already
spent, the United Nations is still pressing America
to open her borders wider and take in more refu-
gees, whose total population rivals the migrations
of World War II.
In September, Time Magazine reported this:
“Since the Syrian Civil War began in March
2011, 1,584 refugees have been relocated in
the U.S., the majority of whom have moved
to Texas (180), California (171), Michigan (159),
Illinois (132), Arizona (107) and Florida (97).
Thirty other states have absorbed the rest,
according to numbers compiled by the State
Department.”
Although often used interchangeably, let me
define the two terms refugee and immigrant. A
refugee is someone who has been forced to leave
a country because of war or for religious or political
reasons. An immigrant is a person who comes to a
country to take up permanent residence.

Rep. Peter King (R-NY), chairman of the House
Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, shares this concern. In September he told
CNN, “We have to assume that ISIS or al Qaeda
would try to take advantage of this situation.”
According to its website, the Counterterrorism
and Intelligence Subcommittee “focuses on the
capabilities and efforts of the Federal government,
particularly the Department of Homeland Security,
to identify and deter threats to the Homeland
through the collection and sharing of counterterrorism and homeland security information across
Federal, State, and local law enforcement.”
Congressman King, the man who heads this subcommittee, describes ISIS this way:
ISIS is a vicious jihadist terrorist organization
which continues to make advances in large
parts of Iraq and Syria. ISIS in the Middle
East today is stronger than Al Qaeda was in
Afghanistan in 2001. It is far wealthier and
battle-hardened than Osama Bin Laden’s

But that is the way ISIS and its fellow travellers
see things, and those atrocities— the immolation of the Jordanian pilot in the name of Allah,
the internet videos of hooded figures hacking
the heads off Western hostages in the name of
Allah, the slaughter at a French magazine in the
name of Allah—are having the desired effect.
It’s pretty safe to say that in the broad public
mind, both here and in Europe, Islam is not
synonymous with peace.
I could add to this list the recent crucifixion of a
12-year-old boy who refused to deny his faith in
the Lord Jesus Christ.
America was

seeking such
freedom.
henchmen. ISIS includes Americans in its ranks,
and is actively trying to recruit more via social
media. ISIS has demonstrated its depraved,
evil and barbaric nature toward Americans by
killing aid worker Kayla Mueller, beheading
journalists James Foley, Steven Sotloff, and
former U.S. Army Ranger Peter Kassig.
In 2015 over 50 individuals have been arrested
in the United States for their connections to
ISIS. Many of these individuals were apprehended while planning attacks on New York,
including Abdurasul Juraboev, Khror Saidakhmetov, Abror Habibov, Dilkhayot Kasimov
and Akmal Zakirov who had planned to travel
to Syria and join ISIS, bomb Coney Island,
kill members of the NYPD and the President;
Samuel Rahamin Topaz, Munther Omar Saleh,
Fareed Mumuni, Alaa Saadeh, Nader Saadeh
who, along with an unnamed minor, planned to
attack various landmarks throughout New York
City and provide material support to ISIS; and
Noelle Velentzas and Asia Siddiqui, who were
planning to attack a large law-enforcement
event, like a funeral for a member of the NYPD.
Yet King’s concern, and the concern of so many
others, goes unheeded by President Obama
who will not even speak the words, “Islamic
extremism.”
Neil Macdonald of CBC News said it well:
Why Obama and some other Western leaders
frame their rhetoric that way is obvious. They
want to shield law-abiding Muslim citizens
from popular anger as provocations grow more
atrocious by the month. Plus, they are anxious
to repudiate any idea of a war between the
largely Christian West and the Islamic world.

Ladies and gentlemen, these are just more of the
realities—the results—of true Islam. Yet even
after hearing and seeing these cruelties, many still
hold to an unrealistic view of the Muslim religion,
calling it a religion of peace and love when we see
example after example of the complete opposite.
The angel of the Lord told Hagar how Ishmael
would be:
“And he will be a wild man; his hand will be
against every man, and every man’s hand
against him; and he shall dwell in the presence
of all his brethren. (These predictions describe
the Arab people perfectly. They cannot get
along with anyone in the world, and they
cannot even get along among themselves. The
descendants of Ishmael dwell in the presence
of all his brethren [Israel], but do not subdue
them and, in fact, never will subdue them!)”
(Gen. 16:12, ESB)
NO LONGER THE MINORITY?
America was founded on Christian principles and
values, which included religious freedom. As a
Christian nation, America is a compassionate
nation and has welcomed others seeking such
freedom.
For the past 239 years, Christian America has
grown up peaceably with other religions in its
midst including Buddhism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Jehovah’s Witness, and Mormonism. While
these other religions disagree in doctrine, none
pose any danger.
It’s not so with Islam. As the religion of Islam
matures in the United States, we are experiencing the same problems that Sarah saw regarding
Hagar and Ishmael—mocking and demanding,

with a desire for murder.
THE COMPLAINT
School boards in America have been pressured
by Muslim community leaders to eliminate references to all religious holidays—Christmas and
Easter—on calendars and close public schools in
observance of the Muslim holy day, Eid al-Adha.
As America takes in more and more Muslims, we
should expect to experience the same problem
that England and France is facing: a refusal by Muslims to assimilate in countries where they now live.
When a New Jersey school board told Muslim
parents that its schools would remain open on Eid
al-Adha, Muslim families were outraged. The Daily
Mail reported that a woman wearing a headscarf
took a microphone during the meeting and told
the school board panel, “We’re no longer the
minority, that’s clear from tonight. We’re going
to be the majority soon.”
Middle school students in Tennessee were
required to recite and write the words, “Allah is the
only god,” as part of their history project on the
Five Pillars of Islam. One parent told Fox News, “It
really did bother me that they skipped the whole
chapter on the rise of Christianity and they spent
three weeks just studying Islam.”
When presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson said
he would not support a Muslim for president if
that person refused to put the U.S. Constitution
above the tenets of Islam, his comments were
called “anti-Muslim.”
Yet, when Fox News interviewed Muslim men on
the streets of New York and asked them if sharia
law should supersede the U.S. Constitution, one
Muslim said this:
“The U.S. Constitution is made by people and
the sharia law is made by Allah, so that [sharia] is
all the way above, that has to be definitely in the
land not for the America but for the whole world,
would be above.”
In the U.K., Muslims now make up 5 percent of
the entire population, and Islam is its second largest religion. They have moved past the point of
Muslim influence in their communities and schools.
Although still disconnecting the religion of Islam
from Islamist terrorism, European leaders hosting
large Muslim populations cannot deny and must
now deal with an escalation in violence.
Six months ago, British Prime Minister David Cameron outlined a new strategy to prevent Islamist
extremism in a speech to the Ninestiles School in
Birmingham.
“It begins—it must begin—by understanding
the threat we face and why we face it. What
we are fighting, in Islamist extremism, is an
ideology. It is an extreme doctrine. And like
any extreme doctrine, it is subversive. At its
furthest end it seeks to destroy nation-states
to invent its own barbaric realm. And it often
backs violence to achieve this aim—mostly
violence against fellow Muslims—who don’t
subscribe to its sick worldview.”
As America takes

In his speech, Cameron admitted a lack of confidence to enforce Britain’s values for fear of causing offense.
“The failure in the past to confront the horrors
of forced marriage I view as a case in point. So
is the utter brutality of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). It sickens me to think that there
were nearly 4,000 cases of FGM reported in
our country last year alone. Four thousand
cases; think about that. And 11,000 cases of
so-called honour-based violence over the last
5 years—and that’s just the reported cases.”
Unfortunately, the president of the United States
is unwilling to connect the realities of Islam to its
terroristic agenda.
Just 45 days after two Islamist gunmen killed 12
people at the Paris headquarters of the French
satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo, President
Obama spoke to an audience represented by more
than 60 countries at the summit on “Countering
Violent Extremism.”

After listing recent cruelties carried out by the Islamic State of
Iraq and Syria in the Middle East, Canada, Australia, France,
and Denmark, President Obama made this statement:
“We have to confront the warped ideologies espoused by
terrorists like al Qaeda and ISIL, especially their attempt to
use Islam to justify their violence. I discussed this at length
yesterday. These terrorists are desperate for legitimacy.
And all of us have a responsibility to refute the notion that
groups like ISIL somehow represent Islam, because that is
a falsehood that embraces the terrorist narrative.”
This is no falsehood, Mr. President. To the families who have
watched or read the horrifying details of how their loved ones
were murdered by Islamists, the truth about Islam is very real.
CONCLUSION
To allow people into the United States or Europe who are
clearly against the established form of government and the
freedoms these countries uphold is detrimental and dangerous
to our country and to our way of life.
Sadly, the decision to let more refugees into America has
already been made. Once again, Ishmael is in the same camp
with Isaac.
As Christians, we must open our eyes and see, just as Sarah
saw, and look at Islam for exactly what it is. Then, as Sarah did
to Abraham, we need to speak up, ask questions, and voice
our concerns about the threats Islam poses to our country.
Do the Muslims living in the United States show a love for the
American people? I don’t see that happening. Are these refugees, whom we are spending so much money to help, feed,
protect, and bring into this country, appreciative or thankful
for what America is doing for them? These are serious questions to consider.
Above all, we must continually pray for our country. Donnie
said it right the other day: “We are in a spiritual fight for the
soul of our nation.”

I AM SO HAPPY and excited to announce that on
Friday night Jan. 22, my very first SBN meeting will
take place in the great city of Phoenix, Arizona,
at the Orpheum Theatre. This service will be the
first of four rallies that we will be holding in cities
across the U.S. in 2016.
We will be bringing Family Worship Center (FWC)
singers and musicians. Our goal is to bring FWC
to you, which means that you will hear anointed
music and anointed preaching. So many of you are
not able to come to Baton Rouge and experience
the live church services at Family Worship Center,
so we will bring Family Worship Center to you.
We felt impressed by the Lord, that, just as in
Gabriel’s Rallies, the Word for the people in these
meetings will also be “I Just Feel Like Something
Good Is About To Happen.” (Be sure and read
Gabriel’s article this month.) The Lord has given
us a message that will change the hearts and lives
of believers and unbelievers alike—the Message
of the Cross. As well, with music that has literally
touched the lives of millions around the world, we
are expecting the Lord to move in a mighty way
in these services.
Colorado, and Utah letting us know that they are
planning on being a part of this service!
I want to invite all the pastors in the Phoenix area
to help take part in this event. We are asking that

Acts 2:1-4 – “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where
they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of
them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit
gave them utterance.”

up to His death,
Jesus taught more
on the person of
the Holy Spirit than
at any other time
in His three and
WHILE THE DISCIPLES WERE gathered together
in the temple courtyard, they were in one place
and in one accord, seeking the Lord for something
that they really did not understand. All of a sudden
from out of nowhere, something took place that
literally changed the world forever. It began on
what is known as the day of Pentecost. The word
Pentecost in the Greek literally means “fifty” or
the “fiftieth day” for the waving of the sheaf of the
Feast of Firstfruits (Lev. 23:15-16). This was done
at the very beginning of the Passover, which, as
many of us would understand, was another one
of the feast days. It took place seven weeks after
the Passover Feast, and it marked the completion
of the wheat harvest. There were seven different
feasts in which the children of Israel participated,
which all represented Christ. However, today, the
Christian doesn’t need to participate in these different feast days as all have been fulfilled in Christ.
Each feast represented Christ in some fashion,
and was either completely fulfilled by Christ in His
first advent or will be fulfilled in the not so distant
future. It was during the Feast of Firstfruits that
God sent the promised Holy Spirit to His disciples.

Before I get into what took place on that momentous occasion, I want to take us back to the days
before the crucifixion of Christ. In the days leading up to His death, Jesus taught more on the
person of the Holy Spirit than at any other time in
His three and one-half years of earthly ministry.
Why? I think that is pretty obvious. He knew
that He would be crucified, and He knew that He
would be raised from the dead. He even went
so far as to declare this to His disciples, but they
did not quite understand what He was saying

(Luke 9:22; 44-45). Knowing that He would be
crucified, buried, resurrected, and then ascend,
He reassured His disciples that as He was going
away, He would be sending down to them the
Comforter, One who would walk alongside to help
(Jn. 14:15-18). To me, this is an interesting tidbit.
Back in the time of Christ, if there was an individual
who had a following of some sort—whether large
or small—when the leader of that following passed
away, the ones left were referred to as “orphans.”
In John 14:18, Jesus expressed to His disciples
that He would not leave them comfortless, or
helpless. In other words, He was telling them
that as He would be leaving, He was not going
to leave them orphans—those who are without a
leader. He also informed them that this Promised
One would dwell “with you, and shall be in you”
(Jn. 14:17). This means that the Holy Spirit, the One
who was promised, would literally be able to take
up residence in the hearts and lives of believers,
changing the disposition of everything.
THE CROSS MADE IT POSSIBLE
Let me add something to this: The only way that
the Holy Spirit could be able to take up residence
in the hearts and lives of believers was solely
through the means of the finished work of Christ.
It was the Cross that made this possible, for
beforehand, the Holy Spirit could not and would
not be able to reside in the lives of believers simply
because the blood of bulls and goats could not
take away sin but only cover it. With the emergence of the Cross, this made it possible for the
Holy Spirit to reside because the blood of Christ
was able to take away sin completely and cast it
as far as the east is to the west. The Cross made
this possible, and we should never forget that.
A DIVINELY INSPIRED DISRUPTION
Following the command of Christ, many gathered together in one place, no doubt, starting
in the upper room and then venturing down to
the temple courtyard. They were in one accord,
seeking the Lord for what they did not quite
understand, when out of nowhere, something
happened. The Bible says, “and suddenly,” and
means without warning. Those who gathered
that day did not know anything special would take
place. They were not told by God or anyone else
that something spectacular would happen. It all
happened suddenly and without warning. Personally, I like to explain it this way: What took place
on the day of Pentecost—this “and suddenly”
experience—was a “divinely inspired disruption.”
It was this divinely inspired disruption that ushered
in the Holy Spirit in a dimension never known
before on Planet Earth. In all honesty, as there
was a divinely inspired disruption then, we need a
divinely inspired disruption now. The church today
has never been more lethargic than at the present
time, and neither has the church ever been in a
greater mess than now. The church as a whole is
desperate for a divinely inspired disruption, and
it can only come when the church repents, turns
from its wicked ways, and comes back to the Cross
of Christ.
THE LAST DAYS
I do believe that we are living in the last of the
last days, and I do believe that the rapture of the
church is on the horizon. We are looking toward
that great, coming day with anticipation. However,
at the same time, I do believe that the Lord is about
ready to send the greatest move of God to this
world that we have ever seen.

right ahead the
greatest move
of God the world
has ever known,
with the greatest
harvest of souls
coming into the
kingdom of God
than ever before.
As Joel prophesied so long ago, “And it shall come
to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit
upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters
shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams,
your young men shall see visions: And also upon
the servants and upon the handmaids in those days
will I pour out My Spirit” (Joel 2:28-29). There is
coming right ahead the greatest move of God the
world has ever known, with the greatest harvest of
souls coming into the kingdom of God than ever
before. At the same time, I believe that as we

are going to see the greatest harvest of souls come into the
kingdom, we are going to see the greatest outpouring of the
Holy Spirit, with more believers being baptized with the Holy
Spirit than ever before.
A DREAM
Several years ago, I believe that the Lord gave me a dream
regarding people being baptized with the Holy Spirit with the
evidence of speaking with other tongues. It took place in a
large auditorium of sorts, and it was completely packed to the
walls with people of ever race, creed, ethnicity, culture, and
socio-economic background. I was standing stage left as the
music was coming to an end, and in the dream, right before
I was to minister, I was praying that the Lord would give me
something to preach. I stood there in the dream with nothing to preach, with no word at that moment for the people,
and I knew the music would be ending at any moment. Then,
as I walked up to the podium, and I was overlooking the sea
of people, the Lord dropped something into my heart. I do
not remember the text, but I do remember the title of that
message—“The Power of the Holy Spirit.”

The very moment that I quoted my title in the dream, there was
an “and suddenly” experience. Without warning and without
anyone forcing the issue, in the very center of the room stood
a young man. When he stood to his feet, the power of God
came all over him, and he began to speak with other tongues
as the Spirit of God gave the utterance. Then, in a moment,
it swept over that large room, with every single person being
baptized with the Holy Spirit. I felt at that time, and still do
presently, that God was/is going to use this ministry through
the media (television, radio, the Internet, and satellite) to see
tens of thousands of people baptized with the Holy Spirit
during one single service. We are in need of an “and suddenly” experience like never before, and I am anticipating the
day when it happens.

DENMARK CHURCH INTRODUCES PASTORS
TO THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS
DEAR EVANGELIST: It it has been a great blessing for us listening to the Message of the Cross through several years. We
are a small church in Denmark trying to do our best to get this
message out to as many people as possible. God has opened
some doors in Scandinavia as well as in Poland and India. I was
so glad to hear that you will be sending the Expositor’s Study
Bible to many Indian pastors. For the last five to six years, we
have had seminars for preachers in different places in South
India trying to introduce them to the Message of the Cross,

THE GOSPEL OF THE Lord Jesus Christ is the
essence of simplicity. The benefits that come
to humanity as a result of the pure gospel being
believed are too numerous to count and probably
will never be fully comprehended in any one man’s
lifetime. God does not put a series of demands
upon lost humanity whereby, once accomplished,
men can be saved. He really only asks one thing
of us. That is to believe in His Son who sacrificed
his life on Calvary. That simple object of faith
is sufficient to redeem us from our lostness, to
cleanse us holistically from our sinful state, and
to introduce us to an inheritance that will last for
all eternity. Our faith in Christ and His finished
work on the Cross will accomplish all of this for all
who will believe.
THE GOSPEL IS PROGRESSIVELY REVEALED
The problem that God has in bringing the blessings of salvation to humanity is not located in the
gospel itself, but rather, it exists in the heart and
mind of man who wants to depart from its simplicity. God’s plan is perfect. He operated in all prudence and wisdom in establishing it. The problem
is getting man to believe it the way He designed it.
In order to embrace the proper object of faith, man
has to first of all release all hope that might exist
of salvation, sanctification, or inheritance by any
means other than placing one’s faith in the Cross.
Man’s mind is full of reasonings that oppose God’s
plan. Man’s actions are more inclined to gravitate
toward the “doing” of something rather than the
“believing” of something.
So, at salvation, God takes the human being and
reveals to him that his need for a Saviour is a desperate need. God has to show us in no uncertain
terms that our only hope is to trust in His Son and
the penalty He paid on our behalf.
The gospel is only effectively and honestly
embraced by those who truly see that they are
lost, hopeless, hapless, and helpless to produce
a right relationship between God and themselves.
LOREN LARSON
Then and only then will they secure the right
object of faith—the simple truth of Christ and
Him crucified. Christianity starts for all people
with this revelation. However, because man has
learned to be independent from God due to the
fall, we will also need to learn that our growth in
this newly established relationship with God is also
maintained by having the right object of faith. This
lesson is an ongoing one, for if given half a chance,
man will gravitate to a growth plan that is of his
own making or design and will reject the simplicity
of faith in the Cross as the only means of growth.
However, this event must not become the object
of our faith. The believer is baptized into Christ at
salvation and equipped by the Spirit to overcome
sin as a result. When baptized with the Holy Spirit
(a second subsequent work of grace), the believer
is equipped for supernatural service.
THE MODERN CHURCH HAS THE
SAME PROBLEM
In today’s world the wrong object of faith is still
the greatest detriment to the success of living
out the Christian life. In a more recent example,
utilizing the Pentecostal movement, of which I
am a part, we see quite plainly that Spirit-filled
believers have the tendency to make the event of
the baptism with the Holy Spirit with the evidence
of speaking with other tongues the object of their
faith. Nothing could be more needed, and nothing should be more desired or pursued than the
baptism with the Holy Spirit.

The biggest detriment to maintaining the proper
object of faith usually comes because the believer
begins to trust in an action that is correct or in
an event that is biblical and right. For instance,
in the old covenant, God gave Israel the law. I
think it is safe to say that two key purposes of the
law were (1) to reveal to the world the difference
between right and wrong and, (2) to prove to man
that he was incapable of performing properly at
all times. This should have made Israel aware of
its sinful condition, but Israel came to think that
they were capable of keeping the 612 laws (or
more) that were given. They claimed that keeping the law was the means of salvation, and they
were deceived into believing that they could
keep it. The keeping of the law then became the
object of their faith. In addition, their ability to
understand the law was removed, and sin began
to dominate the lives of nearly all Israelites. Paul
stated in Romans 2:24 that “the name of God is
blasphemed among the Gentiles through you.”
Thus, their practice of making the law the object
of their faith was disastrous.

Both of these supernatural experiences are a
benefit of what Christ did for us at Calvary. So,
our faith must not be in the event or even in the
mighty moving of the Holy Spirit. Our faith must
rest in what has provided us with the presence of
the Holy Spirit—the Cross.
Pentecostals began placing their faith in the event
of the baptism with the Holy Spirit and began to
believe that they could live free from sin because
they had experienced this event. This thought, in
reality, robs Christ of the glory only He deserves,
for He defeated sin by His sacrifice on Calvary. The
wrong object of faith always proves disastrous and
Pentecostalism has been experiencing a demise
for decades because of the wrong object of faith.
CONCLUSION
None of us learn these lessons immediately. It
takes time to remove the idols, the wrong thinking,
or the wrong object of faith that believers establish
in their hearts. But I am very excited to see that
there is a group of believers in the world today
who are holding exclusively to the Cross, which
allows God through his Spirit to build us “here a
little and there little.” I am glad to be a part of
this Cross-believing remnant in the last days.

THE HISTORIC CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS is upon us. Instead of the world being brought together under the unity all can have in
Christ, which will produce true harmony, the globalists are smashing us together like the proton Large Hadron Collider machine.
The concept of
global governance
is in opposition
to our American
Constitution.
THE IDEA BEHIND THE science of smashing
protons is that when they collide, thousands of
new particles come out. Notwithstanding, trying
to create a global society is against God. God scattered man at the tower of Babel in order to prevent
man from seeking and obtaining unity without God.
Jacob prophesied, “The scepter shall not depart
from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet,
until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering
of the people be” (Gen. 49:10). Jacob revealed
from where unity would come. It would come from
Jesus Christ. He is the only One who can rule and
judge in righteousness. Today, He can reign in the
hearts of those who receive Him.
THE UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABILITY
The recent gathering of the world saw an international cooperation and agreement that climate
change caused by human emissions is the biggest
threat to our planet. The consortium of nations
unanimously agreed to accept this presumption
as science and will now cooperate together to
combat this creature that seeks to destroy the
planet. Religious leaders at the UN assembly also
addressed their concerns over social injustices that
plague the poor, and the plight of immigrants from
the Middle East should be welcomed and part of
everyone’s shared responsibility, they lament. Fundamentalism must be reckoned with, according to
the Roman Catholic pope. The need for enacting
the UN Sustainability goals is their road map to
success to these perils and a litany of other issues.
GLOBAL GOVERNANCE
VS. AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY
The concept of global governance is in opposition
to our American Constitution. Our American forefathers sought a decentralized republic with most
power vested in the states and with the people.
Although our Founding Fathers wrote language
into the Constitution to guard against the loss of
sovereignty of the states, over time a centralized
federal government has slowly centralized power
at the top. The essence of executive orders was to
give the president power to enforce existing laws
passed by Congress, but today, executive orders
give the president power to make laws. The same
can be said of the Supreme Court of the United
States (SCOTUS). Decisions that are made by the
SCOTUS are acted on by many as if they are laws.
Psalm 94:20: “Shall the throne of iniquity have
fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by
a law?” Americans have been desensitized and
accustomed to having their freedoms and liberties compromised and reinterpreted. American
sovereignty is now viewed as selfish and must be
attacked at every level. The government educational system has created its centralized powers—
Department of Education—and strongly promotes
Common Core education. Teachers are reduced
to facilitators and change agents—no different
than Rick Warren redefining ministers as change
agents. Our military has been corrupted and
feminized. The infiltration of homosexuals has seen

an escalation of male on male attacks of
outrageous proportions. The standards
of expectations have been reduced to
accommodate the physically weaker
female gender. American sovereignty
has been attacked by multiculturalism.
Diversity is the mantra, and instead of
a common language and secure borders, we have illegal aliens and another
tongue telling us what we must do for
their rights.
We have a government since President
Roosevelt that thinks it can spend its way
into prosperity. This is like standing in a
bucket and trying to pick yourself up by
the handle. The family was reclassified
from being seen as one economic unit.
Since the Civil Bill of Rights, given to us
by L. B. Johnson and his great society,
each person has become an economic
unit. On national TV, President Nixon
declared that he was changing our
economy from an industrial to a service
economy. The government created 60
million jobs by 1983, and now an average
government employee makes twice as
much as a private sector worker. Nixon
also created the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by an executive order.
Rules and regulations have poured out
of this new business-killing bureaucracy
since its creation. American households
learned quickly from the government
that debt was the way to prosperity. This
was by design!
Debt makes one a servant to whom
one borrowed. Do not fear though, an
entitlement nation was being created
in the image of the government that
was forming it. Debt can be extended
for eternity as long as someone pays
the interest-but why not let the future
generations worry about that? We have
no interest in the future when we have
such little interest to pay today. Instead
of our grandchildren inheriting prosperity, freedom, and liberty, they will inherit
carnage and communism. The poor will
prevail in numbers only. The wealth will
become centralized, and anyone who
disagrees with this will be treated as
mentally ill. Christians beware!
GLOBAL GOVERNANCE
The world is cooperating apart from
the U.S. like never before. The majority of countries to whom we provide
assistance vote against us in the United
Nations. The weakness of our current
administration has blindly allowed the
likes of Russia and Iran to operate openly
in alliance with the Assad Syrian government. Israel is evermore isolated as its
enemies are strengthened around them.
Furthermore, in order to cope with the
stress of a failing American society,
churches in America speak louder and
louder about partnering with the world.
For example, the recent Gathering on
Mental Health and the Church, held at
Rick Warren’s Saddleback church, was
another example of the church pontificating worldly solutions to spiritual
problems. While there is time, may God
give us the grace we need to fulfill his
calling, “Go ye into the world and preach
the gospel.”

I CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF CHRIST. I don’t apologize for saying this. I don’t hide my enthusiasm.
I celebrate the true meaning of the season. I love true Christian Christmas cards. I love hearing
Christmas hymns, especially in businesses that still allow them to be played.
I UNDERSTAND THAT JESUS was
probably not born on Dec. 25. And…?
It matters not the specific day that we
choose to honor the birth of Christ. It
matters that we celebrate the birth of
the Messiah, the Saviour, the Redeemer,
the King of kings, and the Lord of lords.
THE DIVINE ANNOUNCEMENT
“And the angel said unto her, Fear not,
Mary: for thou hast found favor with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy
womb, and bring forth a Son, and shalt
call His name JESUS” (Lk. 1:30-32).
What an announcement! What an honor
to be the vessel God uses to bring forth
the Messiah! This was the announcement that every young Jewish girl hoped
to receive.
MARY WAS NOT
THE MOTHER OF GOD
Jesus used the phrase “the Son of Man”
when He spoke of His humanity. Mary
was not the “mother of God.” She was
the mother of the Son of Man (the human
body). The distinction is important.
Jesus as a human had a beginning.
Jesus as God had no beginning.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was
God” (Jn. 1:1).
The term Word clearly speaks of Jesus.
Jesus was in the beginning. He was with
God in the beginning. He was God in
the beginning. The Greek term ἀρχή
(archē) is where we derive the word
archaic.
Whenever it is that you believe time
began, Jesus was already with God and
was already God. Mary therefore could
not have been the “mother of God” as
taught by the Roman Catholic Church;
that would mean that she predated God.
Mary was the mother of the Son of
Man—the physical body Jesus used in
His earthly ministry. For that, we honor
her as a human vessel who yielded to
God’s will, but we do not worship her
as the mother of God.
Jesus is the Greek form of Joshua.
Joshua is a shortened version of Jehoshuah (Num. 13:16; 1 Chron. 7:27), signifying in Hebrew, “Jehovah is Salvation”
(Brown Driver Briggs).
“The name Jesus is the same as Savior.
It is derived from the verb signifying to
save” (Albert Barnes).
Jesus, or Joshua, was a common name,
but only He would fulfill the meaning of
that name. Only Jesus would save those
who place their faith in the completed
work of Calvary.
NO OTHER NAME BUT JESUS
Peter boldly proclaimed after the day
of Pentecost, that “There is none other
name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
It is only through the name of Jesus
Christ that we can have forgiveness of
sins, joy unspeakable, peace in a time of
trouble, and, of course, everlasting life.
It is in the name of Jesus that we have
answered prayers.
To a true believer, that name is sweeter
than honey yet stronger than tempered
steel. He is my Redeemer, my Saviour,
my Healer, my Deliverer, my peace, my
joy, my help in the time of need, my
righteousness. He is King of kings, Lord
of lords, the one and only mediator
between God and man, and much more.
That is why I will celebrate the birth of
Jesus Christ. I hope you do too.

As far as I know, there are no campmeetings in the world
that are being conducted today quite like those at Family
Worship Center. So, if it’s at all possible, you should take
full advantage of it. It is some of the greatest music and
singing and worship in the world. Some of the greatest
preaching and teaching also, we think, in the world today.
But with you present, it will be a little bit better. I’m going

The Sacrificial System – In the Old Testament, atonement was
something that had to be done over and over again because the
blood of animals could cover but could not take away sins of the
people. The priest, while carrying out his sacred duties under the
