Into the Silence
“Walk away, walk away from the comfort that is calling…step into the suffering unheard.” These are the opening lyrics inviting us to step outside of the
familiar and enter into the untold stories all around us. As it is so aptly named, silence is the metaphor that resonates throughout the record. From the
soaring melodies of hope and urgency to the intimate musings of joy and sorrow, one can taste an honesty and depth both sonically and lyrically rarely
discovered in the noise of today’s musical landscape. Into the Silence paints an orchestra of stories and experiences illustrating how we, all as God’s
children made in His image and precious in His sight, are called to step out of our comforts and peer into the sufferings of our fellow brethren—to step
into the silence—that we may be used as instruments of healing in a broken and grieving world.
The Silent Ground
Walk away, walk away from the comfort that is calling
Step into the suffering unheard
Many are the voices of the weary
Quiet in the stillness of the earth
Hallowed be the silent ground
Where sorrow meets a mighty sound
And a holy light burning in our eyes
Will illuminate a world in grieving
Break away, break away from illusions of the merry
Reach into the heartache caged in sand
Fading is the hourglass we’re given
Borrowed time to love our fellow man
Hallowed be the silent ground
Where sorrow meets a mighty sound
And a holy light burning in our eyes
Will illuminate a world in grieving
Blue Horizon
On a canvas in the distance
I can see the fading light
I am blinded by the quiet
Winter written in your eyes
Had I all the strokes of freedom
I would sketch the winds of change
Turn your silence into music
Turn your darkness into day
To the cross of red and white
She will find a second home
Where the wounded heroes fly
Mommy, don’t you cry for me
Oh and daddy, don’t you weep
Say you love me so then I am healed
If only for a moment in time
Every breath was on display
Every heartbeat on the screen
Solitude was not for sale
Nor the tears of hopes and dreams
Are the stars awake tonight
Oh can they see the sunrise
When you say you love me
I am free to believe
The seasons turn, the colors reveals her
She is a hero learning to fly
One leap of faith her wings give an answer
Somewhere inside her there is a dream alive
Hush now, she is sleeping
She has found her one true love
Her bright and morning star
He will meet you where you are
In your eyes I see a fire
Burning brightly deep within
So come what may, live out each day
Here the bravery begins
Don’t give up, don’t let go
Love will blossom from the storm and snow
Feel the sun, close your eyes
Let imagination fill the skies
I know it’s hard to dream
When every day you’re holding on
It’s only the weight of the world
You feel so weak yet strong
Don’t contemplate it now
It’s a beautiful winter’s day
So go on, carry on, go on
Take your time, take it slow
Love will guide you through the storm and snow
Still your mind, look above
Wherever you may be remember this
Remember you are loved
Give me a sign, let me know you’re there
Can it be our words are breathing and alive
As we make music in the air
And a song from a different time
Will lead us to each other
Can it be our melody is beating
To a rhythm we will learn to share
But for now, all the echoes are a dream
A song for two without a harmony
So I wait, alone but not in vain
What love can ever bloom without the rain
So if your heart is in a minor key
Let the artist in you set you free
As I write my way to you
What if poetries and rhymes
Could make the hollow ground around us grow
You know I’d fill the earth and sky
With every song a human heart can sow
Can it be our words are breathing and alive
As we make music in the air
And a song from a different time
Will bring us close together
Can it be our melody is beating
To a rhythm we will learn to share
And there will be a hidden symmetry
A Higher Song to write our harmony, one day
Look now, she is dancing
To the rhythm of her lover’s beating heart
Hymn of Humanity
There are days, every season
We, wake up to a world in need
And a voice is calling for surrender
Calling us to healers be
And I will paint the night with a touch of dawn
Draw the sun into your blue horizon
Take my hand, feel the colors glow
Keep them safe, never let them go
Close your eyes and dream away
I will meet you when you wake
Just to know you love me I am healed
If only for a moment
Oh the whispers of a love on high
In the silence drawing nearer
Call us to comfort lay aside
So we can heal this earth
Hear the whisper in the thunder
Watch the fires burn unscathed
Feel the rain upon your shoulder
Underneath this masquerade
What if words could paint a picture
What if silence can be heard
What if faith can move the mountains
Carry heaven into earth
September Sky
Is this the moment when the rain must fall
I see a cloud under a stained glass wall
You’ve been on your knees, waiting patiently
To the hurting in the world
We hear you now, we see you now
Join in song, one people sing
Our hymn for humanity
Darling it’s you, I’ve become
You have all of my world, all of me now
Darling you, I belong, forever
Still you cannot find the words to write
To form a remedy in song and rhyme
Every need to know what tomorrow brings
You must learn to let them go
Though we share, imperfections
We, unified as one must be
Lead us now to reconciliation
Guide us into harmony
Wonderfully and so fearfully made
Portrait of heaven, my picture of grace
Words beyond words, how can I describe
Such feeling of joy inside
In your eyes I see a heart that’s aching
Hiding a smile waiting to be found
You don’t have to be afraid to fear
There’s a time for courage, there’s a time for tears
Go and let it out, tell me what you’re feeling now
Oh the riches of unending grace
Given to a people freely
Will unify our human race
As we our Father seek
Darling it’s you, I’ve become
You have all of my world, all of me now
Darling you, I belong, forever
And paint the night with a touch of dawn
Draw the sun into your blue horizon
Take my hand, feel the colors glow
Keep them safe, never let them go
Oh and I believe
Oh and I believe
That we can paint the night with a touch of dawn
Draw the sun into your blue horizon
Call my name, and I’ll fly to you
Lift your eyes, morning is in view
Sleepless Lullaby
The sky is closed, the city sleeps
Where are the ones who find themselves awake
I close my eyes, I dare not see
All the faces of humanity in pain
There is no sound, no tear nor cry
Here in this room alone I find
Inside these walls I’m safe tonight
Shall I sleep while dreamers die
I am so small, I know it well
How can it be the Son you sent to die
Would raise me up to break this spell
Cast upon a world so desperate for the light
Oh blinded eyes, why don’t you see
Beauty beyond a broken dream
What lullabies can music write
For the sleepless in the night
And if I die, one soul to save
May I die a thousand ways
Find You with me in the grave
Oh let me cry and drink the rain
How can I love not give away
This lullaby I’ll sing tonight
Or shall I sleep while dreamers die
Where Heroes Fly
There’s a silence in the hall
She will hear the news today
Would her future carry on
Through the illness that remains
From the world she once had known
If there’s a window that you cannot see
I’ll paint a sunrise in your memory
Let the colors glow, give them time to grow
What if writers were not meant to write
All of the mystery only love defines
Every what if and why, will they keep you down
Learn to lay them all aside
In your eyes I see a heart that’s aching
Hiding a smile waiting to be found
You don’t have to be afraid to fear
There’s a time for courage, there’s a time for tears
Go and let it out, tell me what you’re feeling now
Hold on, hold on
A million banners of gold, strung across the night
Will illuminate a starry eyed September sky
See the banners fly, they fly for you
In your eyes I see a heart that’s dancing
You’ve got a smile go and let it out
You don’t have to be afraid or fear
It’s the time for courage, it’s the time to hear
How you live it out, tell me what you’re dreaming now
A Beautiful Winter
All the darkest clouds have fallen
Now the past is in the past
Still you cannot shake this feeling
That your winter’s here to last
Though you’ve drawn a red horizon
Shades of blue remain inside
Be at peace, let the healing bloom in time
Don’t give up, don’t let go
Love will find you in the storm and snow
Feel the sun, close your eyes
Let imagination fill the skies
Feel the cold wind sear the anger
Let the storm reflect your heart
Cast your fears upon the alter
To the hurting in the world
We hear you now, we see you now
Join in song, one people sing
Our hymn for humanity
Imago Dei
He walked this earth, became one of us
He became flesh and blood
In humble form the Sovereign was made
As a human became
Have we seen Him today
Imago Dei, holy image of God
Have I seen Your face in the eyes of Your people
Man of sorrow, man of shame
Into silence he came
Into suffering remained
Imago Dei, holy image of God
Have I seen Your face in the eyes of Your people
Believe and see when the poor are received
Comes the Joy of man’s desiring
What you have done for dreamers in need
You have done unto me
To heal each heart and see every soul
It’s the calling you’ve known
It’s the course you must go
Imago Dei, holy image of God
Have I seen Your face in the eyes of Your people
Believe and see when the poor are received
Comes the Joy of man’s desiring
Our Harmony
See the dancer in the sky
No word is spoken as she courts the earth
Will she give me wings to fly
To get to you I only have my words
I am dreaming wide awake
And make believe that you are here with me

Mother in Love
I saw the face of a mother in love
Voice of an angel she sang out in song
Born a new life, was wrapped in her arms
Softly she spoke from her heart
If the boundaries of time only would fly away
Every moment with you would be here to stay
Darling it’s you, I’ve become
You have all of my world, all of me now
Darling you, I belong, forever
And ever, I am yours
Sons and Daughters
There’s a music in the rainfall that surrounds us
Falling quietly upon the soil beneath us
On this hallowed field of beauty
Where the treasure can be found
Sorrow meets a mighty sound
Who will answer now the songs unheard among us
Shine a light into the suffering around us
Every song will tell a story
And the silence will be heard
Where the music finds rebirth
So come and hear the promise now
We are sons we are daughters of the living God
Fathered into love
So come alive and make a sound
For the ones who cannot see the morning dawn
Of the kingdom come
This hourglass, our heartbeat still reminds us
We cannot live for illusions meant to fool us
Maybe time can be remembered
Oh but time can never wait
If we learn to love too late
So come and hear the promise now
We are sons we are daughters of the living God
Fathered into love
So come alive and make a sound
Join the people singing out
Oh rise, all sons and daughters
Rise, all children of the Lord
And a holy love, given from above
Will embrace and hold this world in grieving
So let your song begin
