For more details and specifics, please see the corresponding pages in the fan guide. • New in 2011, fans may enter Richmond International Raceway with one softsided cooler, no larger than 14 x 14 x 14 inches. Coolers with telescoping handles and wheels will not be permitted. (Page 19) • New in 2011, fans may utilize lightweight backpacks or daypacks to bring in scanners, souvenirs purchased in the Midway and cameras. (Page 19) • GET HERE EARLY! Traffic and congestion around Richmond International Raceway continually builds throughout race day. Plan to arrive early for the quickest entry into our parking lots so you can enjoy tailgating and all of the activities in the Midway. (Pages 12-13) • Automobile parking on track property is FREE! (Page 14) • Unreserved camping and daily parking for oversized vehicles, RVs, campers and motorhomes is available in Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J and passes can now be purchased in advance. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Richmond International Raceway Ticket Office, located at the corner of Laburnum Avenue and Richmond-Henrico Turnpike, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On race days, tickets can be purchased at the Main Ticket Office or ticket booths located near the entrance to the Commonwealth Mall, which is adjacent to Lot D and the amphitheater, at Gate 40 and at Gate 80. Additionally, a ticket booth will be open at Gate 60 on the backstretch on NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race days only. Please see the property map on the back cover foldout for exact ticket booth locations. Will Call Tickets placed at Will Call must be picked up by the account holder. A valid Photo ID is required. Prior to race days, tickets can be picked up at the Main Ticket Office, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 7 Ticket Policies and Payment Information Please inspect your tickets upon receipt and report any discrepancies to the Richmond International Raceway Ticket Office immediately. Keep your tickets in a safe place. All ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges will be granted. Richmond International Raceway assumes no responsibility for lost, misplaced or destroyed tickets. If the seat location assigned is not available, we will substitute with comparable seating of equal value. Richmond International Raceway accepts cash, money orders, VISA®, MasterCard®, American Express®, Diners Club® and Discover® for payments. Tickets purchased from sources other than Richmond International Raceway may not be honored, as they may be lost, stolen or counterfeit. The purchaser on file is solely responsible for any subsequent resale of a ticket regardless of how or why tickets are resold. Richmond International Raceway will cancel your privilege to purchase tickets if found to have been resold at a price greater than the face value. Tickets may not be resold on Richmond International Raceway property for any reason. All schedules are tentative and subject to change. In the case of postponement or rescheduling of a race, please keep your ticket or ticket stub to re-enter on the date of rescheduling. If you plan on entering the grandstand for any race, you must have a ticket. Richmond International Raceway does not refund or exchange tickets due to postponement or rescheduling of a race. 8 Event Ticket Protector Insurance Fans have the opportunity to purchase Event Ticket Protector Insurance for all tickets purchased for Richmond International Raceway events. Ticket buyers who purchase the optional insurance and are unable to attend an event due to qualified unforeseen circumstances will be reimbursed the full price of the tickets purchased. Fans will be reimbursed if a medical issue, traffic accident, jury duty, employment termination or any other covered reason prevents the insured from attending a race. Additional covered reasons are included in the policy, which can be viewed at www.rir.com/insurance. Event Ticket Protector Insurance is available for an additional $6.25 per ticket and is offered on all event tickets, fan hospitality purchases and camping and RV spots. Ticket buyers have the option to choose insurance on their entire order. Insurance is available online by accessing your account at www.rir.com or by calling the ticket office at 866-455-RACE. For additional information on this policy, please visit www.rir.com/insurance. Family Sections presented by Virginia 529 College Savings Plan Richmond International Raceway is proud to offer the Family Sections presented by Virginia 529 College Savings Plan. The Family Sections are located in Dogwood Sections N & O and Colonial Section E, and alcohol is prohibited in each of these sections. Smoking is also prohibitied in these sections in accordance with our new policy prohibiting smoking in all grandstand seating areas. For NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, within Dogwood Sections N & O and Colonial Section E, tickets for kids 12 and under start at $25 when accompanied by a paying adult. You must call 866-455-RACE (7223) to purchase children’s tickets in the Family Sections presented by Virginia 529 College Savings Plan. For non-NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, children 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult in all general admission sections. Special kids pricing for fan hospitality is also available. See page 31-32. 9 Pre-Race Pit Passes Pre-Race Pit Passes are available through fan hospitality and corporate sales options (see pages 30-32), and Richmond International Raceway is now offering the ability to purchase Pre-Race Pit Passes for Friday of both NASCAR weekends. A limited number of Friday Pre-Race Pit Passes are for sale and cost $50. Per NASCAR rules, fans must be 16 years of age or older to take advantage of the Friday Pre-Race Pit Pass. The pass allows fans to watch NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series practice and pole qualifying from pit road. No alcohol or coolers are permitted on pit road. Practice and pole qualifying times are tentative and subject to change based on race start times and weather. Call 866-455-RACE (7223) to purchase Friday Pre-Race Pit Passes in advance, or purchase on Friday of race weekends at ticket booths while supplies last. Fans must have a Friday race ticket to purchase Pre-Race Pit Passes. Special Military Offer Richmond International Raceway proudly offers military members $5 off of general admission tickets to NASCAR Nationwide Series races. Offer is limited to 10 tickets per military ID. To receive this offer, present a military ID at the Main Ticket Office in advance or on race day at the Military Ticket window, which is located at the Commonwealth Mall Ticket Booth adjacent to Lot D and the amphitheater. Military personnel can also contact their MWR/ITT offices for additional information on extra savings for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and fan hospitality. Group Sales Have your next group outing at America’s Premier Short Track! Group tickets are available for both NASCAR weekends. Groups of 20 or more receive special group ticket pricing and group leader incentives. Group Tickets are perfect for small and large businesses, charter bus groups, civic organizations, social clubs and more. Richmond International Raceway is also now offering a Group Tailgate Lot. Trams operate continuously from Lots H and Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J on Friday and Saturday of race weekends starting at approximately 9:00 a.m. Tram service also will be available on Thursday of the April race weekend. Vehicles remaining in the Richmond International Raceway parking lots three hours after the conclusion of on-track activities on Friday night will be towed at the owner’s expense. Overnight automobile parking on Richmond International Raceway property is prohibited prior to and including Friday of event weeks. The only exceptions are RVs, motorcoaches and campers in the designated paid parking areas. Vehicles parked in Fire, Emergency and public roadway lanes are subject to fines in addition to being towed. To retrieve towed vehicles, please call Fletcher’s Towing at (804) 288-8697. Parking for Oversized Vehicles, RVs, Motorcoaches and Campers Please refer to the Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J section on page 33 for information on parking for oversized vehicles, recreation vehicles, motorcoaches and campers. Oversized vehicles, RVs, motorcoaches and campers can only park in the Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J located off of Meadowbridge Road. 14 FREE Shuttle Service from The Mechanicsville Showplace NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Events Only Richmond International Raceway’s complimentary shuttle service from The Mechanicsville Showplace is just minutes from the track. Shuttles take you to and from Richmond International Raceway from The Mechanicsville Showplace parking lot, located less than three miles from Richmond International Raceway at 3000 Mechanicsville Turnpike. The Mechanicsville Showplace is off of I-64 at Exit 192. Parking at the Showplace shuttle lot is $10 per car and $25 per RV. Shuttle service to and from the track is FREE. Shuttle service is available only on Saturdays of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events and begins at noon. Shuttles conveniently drop you off at the Main Gate to Richmond International Raceway. Shuttle service resumes immediately following the checkered flag with pick-ups back at the Richmond International Raceway Main Gate, at the corner of Laburnum Avenue and Richmond-Henrico Turnpike (Meadowbridge Road). Shuttle service routes and times are subject to change. FREE Shuttle from Downtown Richmond NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Events Only Richmond International Raceway’s complimentary shuttle service from downtown Richmond is just minutes from the track. Shuttles take you to and from Richmond International Raceway from the Richmond Coliseum parking area at North 7th Street, close to Interstates 64 and 95, in downtown Richmond. Parking at the Richmond Coliseum shuttle lot is $6 per car. Shuttle service to and from the track is FREE. Shuttle service is available only on Saturdays of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events and begins at 1:00 p.m. Shuttles conveniently drop you off at the Main Gate to Richmond International Raceway. Shuttle service resumes immediately following the checkered flag with pick-ups back at the Richmond International Raceway Main Gate, at the corner of Laburnum Avenue and Richmond-Henrico Turnpike (Meadowbridge Road). Shuttle service routes and times are subject to change. 15 Tailgating 101 Richmond International Raceway encourages fans to arrive early, avoid traffic, park in our free parking lots and take advantage of the extra time to tailgate. Richmond International Raceway is home to one of the best tailgating scenes in all of NASCAR, so get here early, set up the chairs, tables and grills, get out the coolers and have fun. We also ask you to follow a few simple rules and regulations while tailgating, to ensure the safety of you and those fans around you. Tailgating for all events will be limited to the area directly in front of or behind each vehicle and must not take up any additional parking spaces. This policy is designed to improve the traffic flow and access to our free parking areas, including for emergency vehicles, while allowing fans to continue the tailgating tradition at Richmond International Raceway. Campfires or outdoor fire pits are not permitted in Richmond International Raceway parking lots or campgrounds. We’d like to thank you for being courteous to your fellow race fans and for your cooperation. Miller Lite Ultimate Tailgate The Miller Lite Ultimate Tailgate is the place to be before the green flag drops. Located near the Midway on the Amphitheater Hill, the Miller Lite Ultimate Tailgate is open to the public on NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race days. Fans can enjoy live music, interactive tailgate games, great tasting Miller Lite, some favorite tailgate foods and other fun events you won’t want to miss. Join fellow race fans for a fun, social tailgate atmosphere and enjoy ice cold Miller Lites at the Miller Lite Ultimate Tailgate. 16 Group Tailgate Lot Richmond International Raceway is now offering a Group Tailgate Lot. The Group Tailgate Lot provides a reserved tailgate spot for your group, space for cars, pop-up tents, tables, chairs, grills and games, easy entry and exit through Gate 2 and portable restroom access. There are two Group Tailgate options: White Flag Package - $300 • 25’ x 40’ reserved space • 2 parking passes • Accommodates up to 30 people Checkered Flag Package - $450 • 40’ x 40’ reserved space • 3 parking passes • Accommodates up to 40 people Grandstand tickets are required for all members of the tailgate (minimum 20). Group Tailgate Lot Rules: • All guests must have grandstand ticket and wristband. • Additional cars not permitted in lot. • No branded tents, signage, or other promotion of businesses. • Lots open at 7 a.m. • Cars not permitted to park overnight (must be removed three hours post-race). • Vehicles left beyond three hours post-race will be towed at owner’s expense. • Outside caterers are not permitted in lot. • Group Tailgate Lot subject to all rules and regulations of Richmond International Raceway. 17 Area Information Richmond International Raceway is located in Henrico County, Virginia. As part of this effort, and thanks to advancements in security technology and tactics, we’ve enhanced our guidelines on items fans may carry into our facilities in 2011. With safety in mind, and to ensure a timely entry, the following Grandstand Policies will be maintained for 2011: Fans may enter Richmond International Raceway with: • New in 2011, one soft-sided cooler, no larger than 14x14x14 inches, to ensure coolers fit underneath grandstand seats and do not block walkways. Coolers with telescoping handles or wheels and hard-sided coolers are not permitted. • New in 2011, fans may utilize lightweight backpacks or daypacks, similar to those used by school students, to bring in items such as scanners, souvenirs purchased in the Midway and cameras. • The soft-sided insulated cooler may contain ice. • Fans may bring their own food and beverages into the grandstands as long as it is brought in the approved bags/coolers described above. • Fans are allowed to bring in one of each of the bags described above, per person (child and adult) entering the grandstands. • Binoculars, scanners, headsets and cameras (including personal video cameras), not placed in a bag, but worn separately over the neck or on the belt and seat cushions carried separately are also allowed. • Seat cushion bags with compartments are reviewed on an individual basis. • Seat cushions with arm rests are not allowed. • All items brought through a grandstand gate will be inspected before admission is granted. • Personal use video cameras are permitted. No commercial reproduction of footage is allowed without written permission of the raceway and sanctioning body licensing officials. • Flags are acceptable for admission, provided they are not attached to poles and do not obstruct other fans’ viewing of racing activities. No flag poles of any type will be allowed. Small nationality flags attached to a pencil-sized diameter wooden stick will be allowed. 19 The following MAY NOT enter the admission gates: • Firearms, fireworks and items • Glass containers restricted by local, state or federal laws • Pets • Beach balls • Strollers • Hard-sided coolers and insulated cups • Umbrellas of any size • Seats with arm rests Note: • Restricted items MAY NOT be left at the gate area. Unattended items left in the gate area will be disposed of by Richmond International Raceway. • Richmond International Raceway will still allow fans to exit and re-enter the grandstands at anytime. Please make sure to have your hand stamped at the gates when exiting and you must show your ticket stub and hand stamp when re-entering. • The above are subject to change without notice. At major gate entrances to Richmond International Raceway, race fans without bags requiring inspection can enter the facility through the UPS Express Lanes. UPS is an Official Sponsor of Richmond International Raceway. Smoking Policy New in 2011, the grandstand seating areas are smoke-free. Fans who smoke may continue to do so, but in approved areas only. In addition to the grandstand seating areas, smoking is prohibited in front of the grandstands, in the portals leading to the seating areas and inside any buildings, including restrooms. RIRUPDATES Fan Information Texting Service Richmond International Raceway offers the RIRUPDATES texting service to keep fans informed on race weekend. The RIRUPDATES texting service and the track’s mobile website keep fans up to date with important race weekend information on the way to, or at, the track. By simply texting “RIRUPDATES” to 69050, fans at Richmond International Raceway can choose to receive informative race weekend updates via SMS text messages on their phone. After texting ”RIRUPDATES” to 69050, fans will receive a standard reply message confirming they are signed up for the service. Standard text message fees from your service provider apply. The Texting Service is available on race days only from 8 a.m. until approximately one hour after the conclusion of the race. First Aid For medical assistance, please contact an usher, one of our roving medical teams or a guest information booth for assistance. Fans can also use the Fan Assistance Texting Service for medical needs. Spectator Care Centers Richmond International Raceway offers medical assistance for its guests at the following locations on each race weekend: • Outside of Turn 4 near Grandstand Gate 70. • Outside of Turn 1 near Grandstand Gate 40. Emergency Contact Information In case of an emergency, guests of Richmond International Raceway may be contacted on race days by calling 804-228-7576 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. or 804-370-3022 from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. The information will be forwarded to the proper department where an announcement can be made. If the seat location is known, an usher will deliver the message to the guest. 23 Lockout/Vehicle Problems If you are parked in one of Richmond International Raceway’s parking lots, and should need assistance with your vehicle on race weekend, please call 804-228-7576. Lost and Found If you’ve lost or misplaced anything while at Richmond International Raceway, Lost and Found is located at the Main Ticket Office, which is inside the Main Gate at the corner of Laburnum Avenue and RichmondHenrico Turnpike (Meadowbridge Road). Items can be picked up there during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, following race weekends. Click here for the property map for exact locations. 24 Tram Service When parking in the free parking lots at Richmond International Raceway, fans can take advantage of our free tram service. Richmond International Raceway provides free continuous tram service to and from several parking areas on Friday and Saturday of race weekends: • From Lots H and Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J to the tram plaza located just outside Grandstand Gate 60 (backstretch). The tram service offers immediate and continuous service, including immediately after the conclusion of the races. Trams also will run on Thursday of April weekend. • From the tram plaza outside Grandstand Gate 60 to the infield and return. (Requires infield access credentials.) The Midway Richmond International Raceway offers one of the best interactive and shopping experiences in all of racing, the Midway. The Midway has many Richmond International Raceway and driver souvenir rigs, food and beverage vendors, as well as interactive displays, giveaways, music and more. Located outside of the frontstretch grandstands, the Midway is open on Friday and Saturday of race weekends and includes a go-kart track, VIBE - a local business exhibition area, the Sprint Experience, SPEED TV stage and more. Central Virginia Raceway Ministries An Exciting Ministry to Race Fans! For information call 804-306-1604 or 804-357-3570 25 Golf Carts/ATVs Golf carts/ATVs or other approved vehicles used on Richmond International Raceway property are permitted for business purposes only. No personal use is allowed for any reason. Motorized scooters are not allowed on Richmond International Raceway property, including the infield, the Midway, the tram route, campgrounds and parking lots. The following regulations apply to golf carts on race weekend: • Permitted golf carts must be registered (including provision of insurance) with Richmond International Raceway and must display the yearly ISC or official event registration credential on the golf cart at all times. • Permitted golf carts must be driven by a licensed driver age 18 or older. • No one under the influence of alcohol may operate a golf cart. No consumption of alcohol is permitted in the cart. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in any powered vehicle, except for outside commercial delivery purposes only. • Physically impaired, disabled or handicapped persons are permitted to use commercially manufactured, single-person electric convenience vehicles (ECVs). These vehicles do not require a registration credential. • Violation of these regulations will result in the golf cart being impounded for the remainder of the event weekend and possible expulsion of the operator from the property. • A golf cart “No Drive Zone” will be in effect one hour before and one hour after each race. Maps of the “No Drive Zone” are available in the Golf Cart Compound. See map on the back cover foldout for the Golf Cart Compound location. These regulations are designed to provide a safe environment for all guests attending events at Richmond International Raceway. Thank you for your cooperation. 26 Section 4: guests with disabilities To assist our guests with disabilities, the following services are available: Ticketing Wheelchair accessible seating areas are available at Richmond International Raceway. When ordering tickets, please ask your ticket agent for more information. See page 7 for ticket office contact information. Arrival and Parking ADA/Handicapped parking is available in three parking lots on a first-come, first-served basis. These lots may be accessed by using Parking Gates 2, 4, 6 and the Service Gate. Depending on your time of arrival, you may be directed to alternate handicapped parking in one of our satellite lots if the parking lots closest to the track become full. Please see the property map on the back cover foldout for exact parking lot locations. Due to the widespread misuse of disabled (handicap) parking permits at Richmond International Raceway events, law enforcement agencies will aggressively monitor and enforce proper use of state-issued disabled parking permits. Anyone using a disabled parking placard or license tag will be required to show proper documentation or identification prior to entering a disabled parking lot. Guests with disabled parking placards should be aware of: • According to Virginia law, unlawful use of a parking permit is a Class Two misdemeanor. The law, in part, reads “Fraudulent use of a disability placard or license plate will result in up to six months in jail and a fine up to $1,000.” • Refusal to cooperate with law enforcement officers implementing this program can result in removal from the property. • Guests CANNOT use a disabled parking permit unless the person to whom it is issued is the driver of or passenger in your vehicle. Disabled parking regulations continued on next page. 27 Guests with disabled parking placards must also follow these rules: • The permit must be hung on the rearview mirror when the vehicle is parked in the disabled parking area. • Both sides of the parking permit must display valid decals (month/year and driver’s license number). • Parking permit number must be displayed toward the front of the windshield. • Disabled license plates accompanied with a photo ID may be used in lieu of a parking permit. • Law enforcement officers at Richmond International Raceway will be checking permits issued by all U.S. states and Canada. Disabilities Assistance Carts Richmond International Raceway has a fleet of disabilities assistance golf carts to help our guests who require assistance with transportation within the immediate raceway property. These carts can assist a disabled guest and one companion. Trams to Lots H & Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J will run continuously, including immediately following the conclusion of the races. Disabilities assistance carts will not transport to these lots. Elevators • Sprint Tower and Dogwood Tower elevators are reserved for suite guests and for guests with disabilities. • Access to the Turn Two wheelchair seating on row 42 of the Dogwood and Henrico Towers is via the elevator located behind Dogwood Section H. Access is restricted to the disabled guest and one companion. • Access to the Commonwealth Tower wheelchair seating and TORQUE Club is via the elevator located behind Commonwealth Section I. Escalators Located on the east side of the of the Commonwealth Grandstand, escalators are available to transport all ticket holders in the Commonwealth Mezzanine and Commonwealth Tower from the ground to the Commonwealth Mezzanine and the first row of the Commonwealth Tower. Access to the top rows of Commonwealth Tower is via the elevator at Level 4. Wheelchairs • Guests may bring their own wheelchairs for personal use while visiting Richmond International Raceway. • Guests in need of renting a wheelchair may contact the Richmond Chamber of Commerce at 804-648-1234 for business referrals. Pit Stop Club The Pit Stop Club is designed for smaller corporate groups wanting to entertain in a climate-controlled, relaxed atmosphere. A table of eight includes company name recognition, race tickets in the Commonwealth Mezzanine located on the frontstretch, Pre-race Pit Passes, unlimited food and beverages (including beer and wine), music, souvenir programs, appearances by NASCAR personalities and credential holders with lanyard for each guest. Chevy Fan Fest is complimentary to all ticket holders at Richmond International Raceway. 32 Section 6: camping information Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J - Unreserved Camping Unreserved daily and overnight parking spaces are available for RVs, motorhomes, campers and oversized vehicles in Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J. Oversized vehicles, RVs, motorcoaches and campers will not be permitted to park in the general automobile daily parking lots. Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J opens at noon on Thursday and at 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday of race weekends for daily parking. The lot is located north of the track on Meadowbridge Rd. Continuous tram service is available on both Friday and Saturday, as well as Thursday of the April weekend. 24 hour security is provided. Sites do not contain utilities (no power, water or waste connections) and showers are not provided. Portable restrooms are provided. Pump out and fresh water service is available for a fee. Passes for the Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J can now be purchased in advance or upon arrival on race weekend. Richmond International Raceway will charge $80.00 for a space in Blue Ox Meadowbridge Park Lot J for Thursday through Saturday nights. For Saturday only, the fee is $60. Reserved Camping Due to demand and limited space, there are no spots available in the Blue Ox Campgrounds for reserved camping. All vehicles must have the appropriate stickers displayed. • Camping will only be allowed in assigned spaces. You must park vehicles in your assigned space or in designated parking areas. Please do not park in other campsites, block access to other campsites or block roadways, fire lanes or dump stations. Vehicles in non-designated areas or without the appropriate stickers are subject to towing. • No corporate branded or wrapped RVs or vehicles will be allowed. • No open campfires are allowed. • Please put trash in tied plastic bags and place in the trash cans provided. • All pets must be kept on a leash. Please clean up after your pet. • No unauthorized riding of golf carts, scooters, ATVs or any other type of motorized cycle in the campground or on Richmond International Raceway property. (See golf cart rules on page 26.) • Please be considerate of your neighbors and other campers. • No loud music is permitted after midnight. • No banners, poles or flags displayed above camper height. • All external generators must be shut off by midnight. • No tent camping allowed. • Check-in time for all campers is 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. • Any violation of these regulations can result in immediate removal from the property and loss of campsite for future events. Richmond International Raceway is host to over 120 various events from consumer/trade shows to outdoor festivals in the buildings and outdoor spaces on the property known as the Richmond Raceway Complex. The Richmond Raceway Complex consists of six permanent Exhibition/Meeting Facilities with over 160,000 square feet of space. We also host corporate and private events in the 15,000 square foot executive level Torque Club overlooking the track. Another unique meeting venue on our property is the Media Center located just feet away from Victory Lane and Pit Road where you can hold a small meeting or lunch and then follow it with pace car rides! We have everything you need in order to accomplish a great meeting.
