Please accept our sincere thanks for your trust and your business. If you have a referral for us, please check out the information on our Referral Program. It’s one way we can show appreciation for such a gesture. Congratulations to our JBDB customers for their COTY Award-winning projects. James Madsen, President, James Barton Design-Build Dream. Design. Build. Enjoy. JBDB Lends a Hand to a Hometown Hero THIS PAST YEAR, FINAL TOUCHES WERE COMPLETED ON A PROJECT CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS. It started when the VA made the Builders Association aware of decorated US Army Veteran Wesley Cureton. Wesley suffered serious injuries, including the loss of his vision, when he encountered an improvised explosive device (IED). This came after 22 years of honorable service to our country, two Purple Hearts, and many other accolades. It was with great pleasure that JBDB, in partnership with BATC and scores of volunteers worked together to renovate the Cureton’s south Minneapolis rambler. The project included finishing the lower level and making it accessible and easy to navigate. The volunteers renovated the kitchen and built a 14’ X 14’ addition—a covered deck that ensured easy and safe access to the home and use of the kitchen. We cleaned up and installed a fence to the backyard for added safety. There were many businesses and volunteers who donated time and materials for this project. Please visit our web site at www.jbdb.biz for further information regarding the Cureton Project. Thank you, Wesley, for all your years of service and sacrifice. Doggone Success Woof Dah owner, Jillian (left) with JBDB office mascot ‘Casey’ (center) and Mary Jo. Mary Jo volunteers her time at the Golden Valley Humane Society every Tuesday. Mary Jo Lageson, JBDB employee, recently partnered with Woof Dah, a doggy daycare in Burnsville, on a fundraiser for the Golden Valley Humane Society. We placed gift tags with needed items on the Christmas tree in Woof Dah’s lobby and hoped for a good turnout. The generosity of the Woof Dah customers and staff was tremendous and far exceeded our expectations. We actually needed the company truck to transport items up to the Humane Society. Thanks so much to all that contributed! JBDB is a drop-off location for “Pets for the Homeless” and the “Animal Humane Society”. To view a list of acceptable donations visit our website at www.jbdb.biz. New Faces We are pleased to announce the addition of Joe DuFour to our talented staff. Joe has a degree from Dunwoody in ‘Architectural Drafting and Estimating’ and has been working in the industry for five years. He started with JBDB in October of 2011. Welcome Joe! Award-Winning Work JBDB took home two COTY Awards at NARI’s 2011 Contractor of the Year event. We were awarded for a residential kitchen in the $60-$75K category and a residential bathroom in the $30-$60K category. Congratulations to the Norbergs and Petersons on their COTY Award winning projects. Nari President Charlie Kundinger (left) with JBDB Designer Tamra Mueller (center) and James Madsen (right). Designer’s Corner Bathroom Renovation Trends by Harmoni Schmidt In home remodeling, trends are leaning towards classic, clean lines which feature materials and hues that will always be in style. This trend toward “classic” is especially popular in bathroom remodeling. Color Staying with a neutral palette will create a softer look. Gray has been the favorite trend and we expect to see more in 2012. Kohler recently introduced a new coolertoned neutral option for their fixtures. It’s called Dune, which they describe as “an understated light neutral shade with more depth than traditional white.” Carrera marble and white tile are often chosen for the flooring, showers and backsplashes. Elements For an upscale feel, vessel sinks come in a variety of colors, shapes and styles adding a personal unique touch to the bathroom design. Vintage style chrome fixtures along with framed mirrors display the homeowner’s personal style. Sconces and chandeliers with drop crystals or soft rounded drum shades are options for an elegant approach. Flooring Especially if you live in the Midwest, heated flooring has become increasingly popular, not only adding floor warmth but increasing the actual room temperature. Homeowners generally find the benefits of this feature far out weigh the costs. Harmoni specializes in bathroom, kitchen and cabinetry design and would love to help you design your dream space. 5920 148th Street West Suite #100 Apple Valley, MN 55124 Office: 952.431.1670 • www.jbdb.biz MN Lic. # BC191023 Refer a Friend.
