CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION
1.
RULES
The Rules of Golf as approved by R & A Limited and the Local Rules
ofKelab Golf Bintulu shall govern play.
2.
THE COMMITTEE
The 26thSARAWAK INTER-CLUB GOLF CHALLENGE TROPHY
2013(hereinafter called the Tournament) shall be managed by the
Bintulu Golf Club Tournament Committee (hereinafter called the
Committee). This Committee reserves the right to amend the
Tournament Conditions and the decision of the Committee will, in
all matters, be final.
3.
VENUE & DATES
The Tournament will be played over two (2) days on 0506thOctober2013 at Kelab Golf Bintulu. This Committee reserve the
right to make any alterations to the conditions of competition for
this events as it deems fit. It shall also adjudicate any claims,
protests or disputes and its decisions shall be final.

4.
ENTRIES ELIGIBILITY AND HANDICAP
4.1
Entries are open to all amateur men golfers selected by
each participating club with a current USGA handicap index
of 16.2 and below.
4.2
Please note that in the event that a player has more than
one golf handicap, his / her lowest handicap shall be used
for the championship. It is the sole responsibility of the
competitors to declare their lowest handicap. Failure to
comply shall result in disqualification in the handicap/nett
event.
4.3

Note : For any handicap prizes (Nett), appropriate fractions
of the respective player’s course handicaps (One-half for
nine holes, one third for six holes, one sixth for three holes
and one-eighteenth for 18th hole) shall be used or matching
the scores and fractions shall not be disregarded.
4.4
Entries will be limited to maximum of twenty (20) entries
for each participating club. Each club shall have a minimum
of ten(10) participants to represent their club. Club can
send less than ten participants, but they are not entitled for
team event championship.
4.5
No fixed flight is allowed. Flight arrangement is at the
discretion of the Committee.

6.
ENTRANCE FEE
5.1
All duly completed entry form together with entrance fee of
RM200.00 per player must reach Kelab Golf Bintuluon or
before 12.00 noon on Saturday, 28th September2013. Late
entries may not be entertained.
5.2
The entrance fee is chargeable if withdrawal/cancellation is
made after the closing date and time.
5.3
All entries will be subject to the approval of the Committee,
which reserves the right to accept or refuse, or having
accepted, subsequently reject any entry without giving any
reason for its decision.
DRAW
6.1
The flight draw shall be made by the Committee and posted
on 2 October 2013 (Wednesday) noon at Club’s Website
and Notice Board. The draw shall also be extended to all
participants via their respective golf clubs by fax. No
withdrawal shall be entertained after the draw is finalized.
If any cancellation or withdrawal, show cause letter for no
show will be given to the player.
6.2
The draws when posted on the Official Notice Board in
Kelab Golf Bintulu shall be deemed as final and due notice
given to all players.
6.3
The Committee reserves the right to vary the draw and
starting times at its absolute discretion. Affected players
will be duly notified. Switching players in the allocated
flight or substituting players to replace with other players
is NOT allowed.
6.4
Individual requested for changes in the draw and starting
time will not be entertained without the approval of the
Committee.

7.
FORMAT OF PLAY
7.1
TEAM EVENT
The Tournament will be decided on stroke play over 2
rounds of18 holes and shall be based on the aggregate
often (10) lowest scores for 2 days from each participating
club.
In the event of a tie in the Team Event, the winner (gross)
shall be determined by the aggregate of the best five
players score on final day. If there is still a tie after that, it
shall be decided by three (3) best gross scores of the final
day. If there is still a tie after that, it will decided by lot.
7.2
INDIVIDUAL EVENT
In Individual Event, the winner will be based on aggregate
of 36 holes score, where Gross taking precedence over
Nett..
7.3
The decision of ties for all positions will be decided by
matching of scorecards as follows :Step 1
The last nine holes’ gross score. For nett competition
calculation, full course handicap shall be deducted
from those holes. If still tied then,
Step2
The last nine holes’ gross score. Half of the course
handicap shall be deducted for those holes for nett
competition calculation. If still tied then,
Step 3
The last six holes’ gross score. One – third of the
course handicap shall be deducted from those holes
for nett competition calculation. If still tied then,
Step 4
The last three holes’ gross score. One sixth of the
course handicap shall be deducted from this hole for
nett competition calculation.
Step 5
The last hole gross score. One – eighteenth of the
course handicap shall be deducted from this hole for
nett competition calculation.
Step 6
If the tie is still undecided, if shall be decided by lot.

9.
TIME OF STARTING
8.1
All competitors shall start at the time laid down by the
Committee and shall tee off either at Hole 1 or Hole 10.
8.2
If the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play,
within 5 minutes after his starting time, in the absence of
circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of
disqualification as provided in rule 33-7, the penalty for
failure to start on time is 2 strokes. Penalty for lateness
beyond 5 minutes is DISQUALIFICATION.
TEEING GROUND
All players shall play from the BLUE TEES.

PRIZES
10.1
Team Event (Gross)
Challenge Trophy will be given to the Winning Team.
There will be Individual Prizes to all the 10 players of the
Winning Team.

Each competitor is eligible to win one prize only with the
exception of novelty prizes, if any.
The Committee reserves the right to adjust and alter the number
and values of the prizes to better reflect the total number
ofparticipation following the draw.

11.
SLOW PLAY
All players must play without undue delay and in accordance with
the pace and guidelines established by the Committee. Between
completion of a hole and playing from the next teeing ground, the
player must not unduly delay play.
Penalty for breach of this Rule as follows :First offence – One stroke
Second offence – Two stroke
For subsequent offence - Disqualification
12.
BUGGIES AND CADDIES
Except for the odd ones, players shall use buggy on a twin-sharing
basis for the Tournament. One caddy shall be allotted to one buggy
only.
Players can only engage caddies appointed by Kelab Golf Bintulu.
The allocation of Caddies is on a first come first serve basis and by
the caddy master who follows the order of caddy registration.

SERIOUS BREACH OF ETIQUETTE
A penalty of DISQUALIFICATION under Rule 33-7 will be imposed if
the Committee determines that a player has committed a “serious
breach of etiquette” of any of but not limited to the following :i)

Use of Hand-phone or other means during a stipulated round
to disturb or distract other players.
Verbal abuse of fellow competitors, officials or staff.
Other unbecoming conduct of behavior.
PRACTICE ROUND
The course shall be opened for the practice round on Friday, 16
August 2013from 6:30 am onwards. No participants shall be allowed
on the course after 4:00 pm.

16.
RETURNING OF SCORECARDS
Players shall return their scorecards as soon as they have finished
their round. A player is considered to have returned his/her
scorecard as soon as he/she leaves the scoring table.
17.
PROTESTS & CLAIMS
All protests & claims should be made timely and before the results
have been officially announced. The Tournament Referee’s decision
on the matters shall be final.
18.
CLOSE OF COMPETITION
The Tournament shall be deemed to have closed when the trophy /
prize has been presented to the winners.
19.
MISCELLANEOUS
a. Welcoming Dinner
All participants will be informed later.

b. Breakfast
Complimentary breakfast will be served daily 6.00 a.m. – 9.00 a.m.
on the two days of competition.
c. Lunch
Complimentary buffet lunch will be served daily 11.00 a.m. –
2.00p.m. on the two days of competition.
d. Prize Presentation Lunch
Prize presentation will be held on 06th October2013and High Tea will
be served immediately after the competition.
20.
OTHER MATTERS
The Committee of the 26th Sarawak Inter Club Challenge Trophy
2013 reserves the right to exercise its discretion in all other matters
unspecified.
