Designer: Joni Davis Interiors WORKS is the name I chose to represent my company because I personally enjoy working with all types of building materials. It is my goal to provide quality home improvement services that suit your specific needs. To do this, I have put together a team that takes pride in our work, strives to provide the highest level of craftsmanship on every project, understands the need for efficiency, and is committed to good communication and teamwork. The in-house services provided by WORKS include additions, complete remodeling, property maintenance, rot problems, concrete work, framing, decks, small roofing projects, skylight installation, window & door installation, all flooring types, custom carpentry, bathrooms, kitchens, interior and exterior painting, minor electrical and plumbing work. We also provide thermal imaging, which reads the temperature inside of walls to determine if there is improper insulation, water damage, electrical and/or plumbing problems. If there is a rush to complete the job or if adjunctive services would be more beneficial for our customers’ needs, we are more than happy to suggest the use of trusted subcontractors. We have long standing, collaborative relationships with architects, interior designers, electricians, plumbers, masons, tile professionals, plasterers and Venetian plasterers, cabinetmakers, roofers, landscape designers, landscape contractors, and excavators. We would be happy to recommend their top-quality services on any project where these additional services may be appropriate. References are always available upon request. I look forward to working with you on your next project. 8/13/12 2:26 PM Page 8 QUALITY Whether a small project or a large one, we focus on delivering high-quality work. QUALITY WORK (FM)Works Lrg broch 8-12 MISSION STATEMENT At WORKS, we believe that many factors contribute to a strong client relationship and a successful project. It is our mission to not only provide you with an end result that exceeds your expectations, but to make sure that you are satisfied with our team during the process. We are honest and proactive and believe in communicating openly with our partners, our clients. 8/13/12 2:26 PM Page 10 ATTENTION TO DETAIL Here at WORKS, we believe it’s the details that put the shine on the job. DETAILED WORK (FM)Works Lrg broch 8-12 THE DETAILS What you can expect from WORKS • We start our workday at 8AM. • We are respectful of you, your home and your family. • We ensure that every precaution is taken and protection is in place to prevent damage to your home and belongings during the renovation project. • We work as efficiently as possible and to the best of our ability to perform a quality job every day, on every project, large and small. • At the end of each workday we will present you with a verbal progress update and address any questions you may have. • Each day we do our best to leave the jobsite clean, organized and safe. We understand the disruption remodeling causes and take care to minimize the inconvenience by keeping our clients abreast of day-to-day progress, being proactive in dealing with any challenges that may arise, and doing our best to make sure the process goes smoothly. A key part to meeting your expectations is running an efficient job. This requires a smooth flow of information from you to us and vice versa. Remodeling jobs can very easily become bogged down in the details, thus it is important that decisions are made in a timely manner and clear goals are set. We want to work with you to create your ideal project, and the better you can communicate your visions for the finished product the better equipped we will be to create it. Before The following is the order of operations for a typical remodeling project. Step 11 – Schedule final inspections; perform touch-ups and miscellaneous finish work Each project is unique. Therefore, these steps should be viewed as a general guideline for how we work. Additional items such as custom shelving or cabinetry, special order fixtures, detailed trim work, and changes to the project scope may change our order of operations. We emphasize this as a general guideline because, especially in older homes, there can be issues such as out of level framing, rot, or insufficient structure that must be corrected before installing new finishes. It is important to us that you are happy through all stages of your project, and we will do our best to keep your project on budget and on schedule. Step 1 – Obtain all necessary permits; perform required demolition; complete any necessary framing Step 2 – Plumbers and electricians install rough materials Step 3 – Necessary inspections are scheduled (reliant upon city/town inspection schedule) Step 4 – Insulation and drywall installed Step 5 – Plastering completed Step 6 – Flooring installed Step 7 – Trim and baseboard completed After Designer: Joni Davis 8/13/12 2:27 PM Page 14 THOROUGH WORK (FM)Works Lrg broch 8-12 CRAFTSMANSHIP We will provide the best of our craftsmanship on each and every project. KITCHENS AND BATHROOMS WORKS has completed many kitchen and bathroom projects. Whether you are interested in a complete tear down and rebuild or just a surface remodel, we will deliver a beautiful finished project. We can work from detailed architectural drawings, sketches from our clients, or even verbal descriptions. “Jesse DeBenedictis is an honest, talented and very accommodating contractor. Jesse has completed numerous projects for us and we have found his work to be of the highest quality craftsmanship. Jesse is extremely conscientious and hardworking. While renovating our kitchen, Jesse took our space down to bare bones and reconstructed a beautiful and efficient work space. He was always upfront when dealing with us regarding time and cost. He performed within budget and agreed upon schedule unless unusual circumstances arose in the project. Jesse and his crew were tidy, courteous and delightful to work with. We would highly recommend Jesse for any project...” — Linda and Richard, Manchester-by-the-Sea MA Designer: Joni Davis 8/13/12 2:27 PM Page 16 EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION PROACTIVE WORK (FM)Works Lrg broch 8-12 USEFUL INFORMATION Encountering Rot Discovering rot in your home can be a very troublesome experience. Rot can be deceiving, many times it will only show on the exterior of a home, with a rotted piece of siding, trim, gutter, or even a small leak. In many cases rot may not look very serious on the exterior, but it is what is beneath the paint and behind the wall that is the real concern. Once we have exposed the area and discovered the full extent of the damage we will make repairs in a manner that treats the cause of the rot. Then we will protect the material with the proper flashing and sealants. As always, we will communicate effectively to address any issues that arise during construction and keep you involved in all decision-making. “...Jesse and his crew did a great job and far exceeded my expectations. They were professional and hard working and were thorough at detecting unknown problems and fixing them the right way.” — Lynn, Gloucester MA 8/13/12 2:27 PM Page 18 STRAIGHTFORWARD BILLING EXCELLENT WORK (FM)Works Lrg broch 8-12 BILLING PROCESS Prior to the start of the job, we will present you with a written estimate that summarizes the project. Charges for labor, materials and subcontractors will be listed separately. We believe that charging our clients by the hour is the most honest and efficient way to ensure a quality job. Everything will be discussed before the start of each job and all of your questions will be addressed. If there is a significant change in the project and you would like a revised estimate or a change order form, we will be happy to provide one.
