I would like to share a few of my thoughts on the 25th annual Air Show. It certainly did not disappoint the estimated 1200 attendees. We are very pleased about achieving this near record attendance level, it was a great night to celebrate the Air Show's Silver Anniversary. --PBACCA 2015 OFFICERS-President: Dale Vernatter John C. (561) 626-8880 FINANCIAL A DVISOR: Donna M. Sotillo, CPA - Sotillo & Company (561) 547-5730 Everyone seemed to be busy and engaged in conversation as vendors displayed their many offerings. We are already seeing an increase in demand for exhibition space for next year. This is largely because of the growing number of manufacturers and suppliers that are introducing new energy efficient equipment, as well as anticipation that Dale Vernatter consumers who have put off a purchase due to the economy, will begin replacing ageing equipment. In addition to seeing the new products that were on display at every turn, attendees spent a great deal of time discussing the news that the new Florida Building Code will be released at the end of March. This new code will be called "2014 Florida Building Code, 5th Addition" and will take effect sometime this summer. Recent drafts of the code have gotten a lot of attention from contractors and suppliers alike. "Clearly, everyone is hungry for information about what will be in the final draft. We are trying our best to get everyone up to speed and let them know what their responsibilities will be", said Daryl Sholar, Senior Building inspector, Village of Wellington. My May visit with you will deal exclusively with the new codes and how we will be impacted. Over the next few weeks I will be speaking with many of our local Building Officials and inspectors and I’ll share their thoughts with you. This may be our most important visit of the year. With their support the set up for the show ran efficiently. We need to recognize these young men and women as our future top professionals in the Air Conditioning Industry. This is PBACCA'S 15th Year of serving on the Board of the HVAC Program designed to introduce the students to a career in Air Conditioning. All of the students are EPA and Ready to work Certified and will be attending upcoming courses FACAA has to offer at Palm Beach State College. Many of them are already working in our industry and several more are seeking employment.
