Trailhead parking lots are always busy — carpool if you can July 1, Sunday: Four Open Space Preserves— Meet at Montebello Parking Lot on Page Mill at 9:30 or carpool from Page Mill & 280 at 9:00. July 7, Saturday: Trail Maintenance - Skyline to the Sea Trail— Al Lisin, (408) 252-8106, leads a group that maintains the Skyline to the Sea Trail. This group now meets on the first Saturday of the month. The group meets at 9:00 AM. Please call Al for meeting place (which changes). July 8, Sunday: Sprig Lake/Mount Madonna County Park— A moderate 9 mile hike with approx 1,800ft elevation gain. Meet at the Sprig Lake parking lot, just off highway 152, at 9:30 A.M. or carpool from the Park and Ride at Highway 85 and Cottle Road at 8:45 A.M. Heavy rain cancels. Call Ed La Pointe at (408) 243-7194. July 14, Saturday: Big Basin Trail Maintenance— Meet Jeff Bleam at park headquarters at 9:00 AM for some hands-on trail work. This group meets the second Saturday of each month. Call (831) 338-0774. July 15, Sunday: Montebello, Long Ridge and Skyline Ridge Open Spaces— This hike fills in the gap between June 24, Long Ridge OSP, and July 1, Four Open Spaces which, combined, add to June 17, Saratogo Gap/Stevens Creek County Park and complete the exploration of Skyline Ridge from Saratoga Gap to Russian Ridge. We start from Montebello, taking the Canyon Trail then up by Grizzley Flat to Long Ridge, then to Skyline Ridge and down the Skid Road to the Stevens Creek Nature Trail and back to the parking. 11-12 miles. July 21, Saturday: Castle Rock State Park Trail Maintenance— The third Saturday of every month Martin Donald leads trail work in the Castle Rock area. Meet at Saratoga Gap parking lot at 9:00 AM. Call Martin at (650) 966-1984. Bring boots and gloves, lunch and liquid. Tools are supplied but bring your own favorites if you prefer. July 22, Sunday: Potrero Hill, SF and "Sunday Streets Bayview/Dogpatch"— Explore hills and stairs of Potrero Hill, then head to 3rd Street to participate in the Sunday Streets walk (www.SundayStreetsSF.com).Approximately 6 miles of sidewalks. Meet at Page Mill & 280 at 8:45 or the corner ofArkansas and Madera (adjacent to Potrero Hill Playground). Street parking. Leader: Toni Bassett 650-948-7344. July, 29 Sunday: El Corte de Madera Creek OSP— We will hike the Tafoni Trail, pay a visit to the Sandstone Formation. The hike will be about 10 miles. August 5, Sunday: Pogonip and Henry Cowell— A 9-mile hike from Pogonip to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and back. Meet at municipal parking lot in Los Gatos (formally VTA lot) at 8:45. August 11, Saturday: Big Basin Trail Mainten- ance— Join Jeff Bleam again for some more enjoyable September 9, Pescadero Creek County Park (3B, trail maintenance at Big Basin.
