A chaplain continuing education (CCE) requirement is a measure used in this continuing
education program, for the Chaplain to maintain their yearly certification. Our program is
defined as twelve hours per year of participation in The Making of a Chaplain continuing

of continuing education requirements mandated by the Dream City Church certification board.
To maintain your Dream City Church Chaplain Certification status each year, you must
receive 12 credit hours of class study or participation in an authorized event. One hour
of credit per hour of participation, not including travel time or time to do a report.
Possible ways to receive those credits:
Field Trips, one hour of credit per hour of participation, not including travel time or time to do
a report of the Field trip. A one page report is required. See Required Class Report

Keeping these 3 quests in mind when you
are doing the Chaplain Continuing
Education program. Answer one or more of
the following questions in a one page report.
1. What did Jesus say to you in this
class?
2. How will you obey Him?
3. How will this help you to dwell in
His presence?
All reports should be turned in to the class
administrator within one week from when
you took the class or attended an outside
event, if possible.

THE PATH
The next four lessons are from Fire On The Mountain, “THE PATH” a book by Rick Joyner. This
is a Prophetic Allegory illuminating some of the most important truths of our times.
Allegory - Def. The expression by means of symbolic actions of truths. A symbolic
representation.
Prophetic - Def. Foretelling events.
LESSON 8
Chapter 1 The Voice
“I am the Voice that cries in the wilderness,” he said as he stepped out of the forest so
close that I could not believe I had not seen him. Then he continued as if he had heard
my thoughts
Chapter 3 The Choice
“As great as it was to be on that cruise ship, my heart was empty, and I was getting
emptier. I saw good people drifting, beginning to do things that should not be done. I
knew that if I did not leave that cruise ship very soon I never would. Then I would live a
life of compromise and defeat. I think this was my last call regardless of how much time
the world has.”
Chapter 4 The Path
“It is those who are dying daily that are the most alive. This living water is he sweetest to
them and the most powerful. Death is the path to true life, and dying to self is how we
stay on the path of life.
Chapter 2 The Call
Loving God is the highest purpose of man, and those who love are transformed and
translated into the heavenly realms of God.
LESSON 9
Chapter 5 The Test
“This wilderness is beautiful, but deadly. It will try to kill you any way that it can, and it
has a lot of ways to do it. If it does not kill you it will seek to have you turn back. As
frightening as this wilderness can be fear will lead you into its traps, so fear can never
become our guide. We must learn not to allow fear to control us or influence our
decisions. We must use every fear that comes upon us as a chance to resist it and to
grow in faith. We will have a chance to do this every day, and every day that we stay the
course we will become stronger in the Lord.
Chapter 6 The Teacher
“The way He became my Teacher was that after I prayed and asked Him to teach me
about something, He would teach me in unique ways that I came to recognize as His
ways. Someone might give me a book or a recorded message that would have the
answer to a question, but I knew it was the Lord Himself giving it to me . At other times, I
would feel compelled to watch a movie or television show, and it would have the answer
to my question. Even though my answer may have been spoken by a character in the
show I knew it was the Lord Himself answering my question. So I was not just hearing
the words of the Lord, I learned to hear the Word Himself through whomever He chose
to speak or by whatever means.
9
Chapter 7 The Life
“Truth that is life is truth that is lived,” he continued. “As you live what you learn, your
words will have the power of life. You will not just teach the truth, but you will impart a
love for the truth when it is your life.
Chapter 8 The Challenge
The next morning we drank and again sat to pray together and review our purpose for
the day. We reviewed our three main purposes and challenged the group how we might
make the most of our day, even if we had no lion attack, no visit from Elijah, or no other
drama . The Lord’s presence was very real. It was hard not to just want to sit there all
day, but we began walking down the path.
LESSON 10
Chapter 9 The Leader
“My reason for being transparent is because I was given a job to do— to get this group
through this wilderness. They will only make it by their faith in God, not me . I know there
is a certain trust they must have in me as God’s provision for them at this time , but my
goal is to get them to the place where they do not need me. I want to get them there as
fast as I can. I want them to make it, even if I do not make it.”
Chapter 10 The Seekers
“What is the greatest thing you have ever learned in a wilderness?” another asked.
“Learning that we can all be as close to God as we want to be. It was in the wilderness
that God’s first dwelling place among men was built. It is in the wilderness that we are
made into His dwelling place. Where He is, is heaven, so building Him a place to dwell
with us can turn any wilderness into part of heaven. The worst place on earth will be
heaven if He is there. This is our ultimate purpose—to bring heaven to earth— and we
do this by building Him a place everywhere we go.”
Chapter 11 The Reason
“There is a true and a false church, both of which are prophesied in the Scriptures, and
both of which we have all around us ,” I answered. “There is true and false with almost
everything: true and false apostles, true and false prophets. We are even warned about
‘false brethren.’ The wheat and tares are mixed together now and will not be separated
until the end. Learning to distinguish between the wheat and the tares is part of our
curriculum. Learning to discern between the true and the false church is part of our
curriculum.”
LESSON 11
Chapter 12 The Turning
“I did not go to them just to try to get them engaged with the rest of the group. We do
need them. They are critical to all of us making it through this wilderness . To make it we
need everyone in the right place doing what they were called to do.
Chapter 13 The Shepherd
“It is the foundation of a shepherd’s life. You will only lead and care for His people well if
you are walking with the Lord and getting ever closer Him. When you stop getting closer
to Him you will begin to fail in your leadership of His people, because your purpose is to
lead them to Him. He is their green pasture. He is their living water. He is their rest. He is
their life,” Enoch explained.
10
Chapter 14 The Prophet
“Some of the greatest to ever walk with God are either on this path or soon will be. The
best part is not just getting to know Elijah and Enoch, but we will know the God of Elijah,
the God of Enoch, the God of David, the God of Moses—the same God all of the great
ones who walked this earth knew and served. Who could have even dreamed of a life
like this?” Mark said echoing my thoughts.

NOTES
THE MAKING OF A CHAPLAIN
We believe that
love is shown
through our
actions, not
just words
Chaplains are an extension of the local church reaching into our community
providing spiritual care.
Chaplains are full of love and passionate about taking the gospel to some of the most
over looked places in our society.
Chaplains minister in soup kitchens, corporations, disaster areas, prisons, public safety
agencies, hardcore motorcycles rallies, AIDS hospices, nursing homes, truck-stops, and
rodeos, airports, senior living and much more.
Chaplains like to blend in with those to whom they minister. They aren’t looking for
accolades, they are looking for souls to win for Jesus Christ. It’s really a WAY OF LIFE.
They are full of compassion, sensitive and caring, devoted to helping others.
Chaplains are full of compassion, sensitive and caring, devoted to helping others. The
force of this compassion can not leave those souls in the sad condition in which they are
found. It moves the Chaplain to do something to change the situation.
