VADIM AKOLZIN
Freestyle, Harness, Off-ice Jump Class
Vadim started his skating career at the age
of 5 in Russia as a singles skater. In 1998,
he received the title of Master of Sports in
Russia for accomplishments in the sport.
After relocating to Israel in late 1998, he
went on to become a two-time Junior
Israeli National Champion & competed in
ISU Junior Grand Prix and 2 Junior World
Championships. At 19, Vadim started his pair
skater career and became a Junior National
Champion and a three-time Senior National
Champion. He also competed in international
competitions, one Junior and three Senior
World Championships. Vadim and his partner
were the first pair team to ever represent
Israel at a World Championship.

With more than 15 years of competitive
coaching experience, Sofia has enjoyed
coaching skaters at all levels ranging from
Regional, Sectional and National Champions
to current National and International
competitors. She has also been awarded
numerous Artistic Awards throughout her
skating and coaching career. Sofia recently
had the privilege of joining the coaching
staff at Ice Castle International in Lake
Arrowhead, CA, and looks forward to
continuing the development of young
athletes here at the Desert Ice Castle.

Scott made his Professional Debut in 1984

Freestyle, Jump Technique
Anthony, as a two-time Olympian and
six-time World Competitor, is known as
one of the best jumping technicians in
the world. With his powerful skating and
speed, he is the first skater to land a quad
triple combination in competition for
Australia. With over 16 years of teaching
national and international competitors
his students in the 2013/14 season have
included Tatsuki Machida (Gold Medalist at
2014 Skate America and Rostelecom Cup,
2014 Japanese Silver Medalist), Riona Kato
(2013 Japanese Junior Silver Medalist),
Michael Tsao (World Junior Competitor) and
Palmy Lamsam (World Junior Competitor).
Anthony coaches all levels of freestyle and
jumps power skating and speed. He also
offers off-ice jumping classes.

SARAH HECKEN

Sarah is a 4-time German National
Champion, European and World Competitor
and 2010 Olympian. She began skating at
the age of 4 in Mannheeim, Germany and
won her first National title at the Novice
level at just 11 years of age. Sarah has
competed internationally at both the Junior
and Senior levels, having won 12 titles senior
international medals, including six gold.

two-time Olympian and 7-time German

WALTER STEVENSON
Walter’s skating career began in Cape Cod,
MA and includes over 20 years of coaching
experience in instructing skating school and
private individual lessons. In addition, Walter
has 6 years of professional show skating
experience including chorus numbers, special
acts and figure skating on stilts in shows such
as Ice Follies, Holiday on Ice, Disney’s World
on Ice and Ice Capades. He performed in
shows with world-renowned skaters such as
Dorothy Hamill, Janet Lynn, Randy Gardner,
Tai Babilonia, Linda Fratianni, Scott Hamilton
and Peggy Flemming. His knowledge and
expertise comes from extensive training and
instruction at The Falmouth FSC, John F
Kennedy FSC, Cape Cod Coliseum, Hingham
FSC, The Skating Club of Boston and The
Lake Placid Olympic Center. Several of
his students have medaled in competition
and his forte is competitive and exhibition
choreography.

AURORE PREMONT
Freestyle, Basic Skills
Aurore began skating at the age of 4 in
Nice, France. She trained at Ice Castle under
the guidance of many elite coaches such as
Christa Fassi, Evelyn Kramer and Rafael
Arutyunyan. Aurore was Monagasque’s
National Champion, competed in nine
French Nationals and several international
competitions throughout her career. She
is the first skater to represent Monaco on
the international circuit and had many
opportunities to perform for the Royal
Family of Monaco.

An international skating star for 20 years,
Mr. Garren is a trained dancer in ballet and
jazz and has an extensive principal ice show
performance background on stage and
television, including featured performances
with Ice Capades, Holiday On Ice, The Peggy
Fleming Show, Ice Follies and Dorothy Hamill.
His method of coaching and patient attention
to basic skating skill details creates a solid
foundation for continued advancement in the
sport, for beginners thru advanced skaters of

Now in his 14th year of coaching, Ikaika has
had the pleasure of teaching skaters at all

Champions and coaches Team USA and
international athletes. Ikaika enjoys guiding

Cynthia is a Master PSA Rated Coach in

STEFAN LINDERMAN

Gary is a USFS Double Gold Medalist in pairs
and freestyle and he has performed in over
50 professional ice skating shows all over the
world. He has performed with top skaters
such as Dorothy Hamill, Tia and Randy,
Scott Hamilton and The Ice Capades. He is
also skated local commercial and has even
starred in a skating movie where he played
the current men’s world Champion. Gary was
also a National and International Medalist and
has gone on and coached pupils in National
and International competitions. Gary can
teach basic skating skills, Moves In the Field,
Freestyle, ice dancing, pairs and hockey power
skating. Gary is PSA certified.

Stefan is a two-time Olympian, 7-time
German National Champion, European
and World Bronze Medalist. He is the most
successful German figure skater in the
men’s single event since 1982 and became
Germany’s first Junior World Champion.

competitor Peter Liebers and 2013 German

BRIANNA WEISSMANN
Choreography, On-ice Artistry
Beginning her figure skating career at the
age of 2, Brianna was trained by her mother,
Bianca Marro as well as Frank Carroll. She
gained 15 years of dance training under the
world renowned Patsy Swayze (mother of
the late Patrick Swayze), and the West Side
Academy in Santa Monica, CA. Brianna is
a national and international competitor and
holds 2 USFS Gold Medals. She also has 10
years of extensive experience in Professional
Show Performing, On-Ice Artistry/
Choreography and has been the Show
Director/Choreographer for numerous ice

Justin has over 25 years of skating experience.
As a 5-time U.S. National Senior competitor,
Justin competed for Team USA from 19962002 and won medals at the U.S. Nationals
in Novice, Junior and Collegiate levels. After
his amateur skating career Justin became
a coach and choreographer in California.
He has coached National Champions and
International Competitors for Team USA.
Justin has also choreographed programs for
National, World and Olympic Competitors
including 2010 Olympian, Rachel Flatt.
