The HERS (Home Energy Rating System) was developed by the Residential
Energy Services Network (RESNET) for inspecting and calculating a home's
energy efficiency, and determining if it meets ENERGY STAR® guidelines.
What the Numbers Mean...
• The lower a home’s rating, the more energy efficient it is.
• The HERS Reference Home is awarded a rating of 100 on the HERS Index.
• Mirabella’s homes earned an average of 60 on the HERS Index, so they are
40% more efficient than the reference home (i.e. a standard new home).
• A typical existing home earns a rating of 130, which is 30% less efficient
than a standard new home.*

Bradenton, Florida June 22nd 2016: The Market Leading Florida
eco-friendly home developer Mirabella and its builder Synergy
Building Corp of Sarasota Florida, have recently been honored
with the esteemed Aurora Awards. The company has earned 3
awards in in Green Construction categories “Green Construction”,
“Water-Wise Home” and “Energy Efficient Home”.
New Bradenton subdivision goes green in record way:
When he broke ground in June on his new Bradenton
subdivision, Mirabella at Village Green, Sarasota developer
Marshall Gobuty's goal was to build 160 comfortable coach
homes for 55-plus buyers.
Currently in its 35th year, the elite Aurora Awards recognizes
design & planning accomplishments in community & home
design, eco-friendly housing, retail, commercial, mixed-use
development, site planning as well specialty-housing categories.
This year, winners were selected from 300+ entries from
Southeastern United States & Eastern Caribbean.
“We are elated to report that lately we have been honored at
the esteemed Aurora Awards in green building category. The
competition was extremely tough and bagging 3 awards at
such an elite event only speaks of our premium commitment to
green building practices. With utility bills soaring high given the
scorching heat and excessive use of AC, it’s high time for green

That was before he discovered he could create -- by
spending a few thousand dollars extra on each home -- one
of the largest "green" single family community ever certified
by the most recognizable label in sustainable construction.
Third-party certifiers for the U.S. Green Building Council's
LEED for Homes designation confirmed last week Mirabella's
homes qualify for the stringent green-building label. The
subdivision along Village Green Parkway in West Bradenton
has a good shot at a Leadership in Energy & Environmental
Design Platinum label, a designation applied to the most
energy-efficient and well-constructed buildings the USGBC
certifies. At the least, they are expected to be certified at the
LEED Gold level.
Gobuty says the certification is valuable for the sake of
building a better subdivision and in marketing Mirabella.
"There's such a competitive market here with homebuilders
everywhere," he said. "This makes us different. This makes us
actually add value to the customer where they know they're
getting something."
Gobuty estimates building the attached villa homes to
LEED standards costs the equivalent of about 5 percent
of the selling price. Homes at Mirabella start at $252,900.
Certification for the first of the homes built in the
neighborhood should arrive within a few weeks.
