FACT SHEET – Carrefour Soumande – A Single Free Standing Building, Vanier, Quebec LEED Core and Shell (CS) v2.0 Silver Certification This single free standing building, which forms part of Carrefour Soumande, a shopping centre development, is occupied by the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) and located at the intersection of Rue Soumande and Rue Blouin in Vanier, Quebec. It is owned and was developed by First Capital Realty Inc. (FCR) and obtained LEED Core and Shell (CS) v2.0 Silver Certification in 2010. In keeping with FCR’s ongoing commitment to sustainable design and construction, this single free standing building located at Carrefour Soumande was constructed to LEED CS v2.0. The LEED CS v2.0 Silver Certification comprises the base building design and construction of one building with 413 m² or 4,445 ft² in total. FCR did not construct or fit out the interior finishes or leaseholds of the tenant premises; and as a result, they were not included in this LEED CS v2.0 Silver Certification. However, a mandatory agreement specifies that the tenant design and complete the interior of their leased premises in accordance with LEED requirements. MATERIALS & RESOURCES o o o o INDOOR ENVRIONMENTAL QUALITY o o o Project # 14772 Page | 2 Diverted 82% of construction waste from landfill. 13% of the total content of building materials, by value, was manufactured using recycled materials. 21% of materials, based on the total value of the project, was extracted and sourced locally. 100% of wood-based building materials was harvested from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests. Prevented indoor air quality problems through the use of a Construction Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Management Plan. Used adhesives and sealants having low volatile organic compound (VOC) content to minimize off gassing. Complied with ASHRAE Standard 55-2004 to ensure a thermally comfortable environment.
