alpine proven The EU tyre label. Since November 2012 there has been a Europe-wide compulsory tyre labelling in force for automobile tyres: the EU tyre label provides information about the environmental and safety-related characteristics of a tyre based on three criteria - winter characteristics, such as braking on icy roads, or traction on snowy road surfaces, are not provided. For this reason, you should always consider the recommendations of the trade press or your specialist dealer. Safety The wet grip properties are set out in classes A to G, although D and G are not used. At a speed of 80 km/h, the difference in stopping distance bet ween A and F can be as much as 18 metres. The im pact speed between A and F is up to 49 km/h higher. A collision at just 25 km/h can cause injury. Grip in wet conditions / braking performance A B C D E F G E A B C D E F G C A –G:Shorter to longer stopping distances in wet 72 dB 2009/… – C1 The tyre label does not apply to: - Retreaded tyres - Non-road-legal tyres, for example, racing tyres - Spare tyres - V intage car tyres Fuel consumption he rolling resistance is classified in classes A T to G, although D is not used. If 6.6 litres of fuel are consumed per 100 kilometres, improvement by one class corresponds to a fuel saving of between one and one and a half litres over a distance of 1,000 kilometres. That is equivalent to a journey from Hanover to Milan. Rolling resistance / fuel efficiency The tyre label generally applies to: - Car and SUV tyres - Van tyres - Truck tyres conditions D, G: Not used A–G: Lower to higher fuel consumption D: Not used Noise The greater the number of bars filled in, the louder the noise emissions from the tyre in relation to the maximum permissible value (in decibels) for exter nal rolling noise. Winter tyres 2013 for cars and light vans The symbol of winter performance M+S Semperit welcomes the introduction of the law requiring people to fit winter tyres as well as the associated growing importance of winter tyres. However, the M+S symbol does not define a certain level of performance in snow or other wintry conditions and is thus of limited significance as a label. For this reason, Semperit recommends also looking out for the “Snowflake on the Mountain” symbol and a profile depth of at least 4 mm when purchasing winter tyres for cars, SUVs and Vans. Only by doing so can consumers be sure of optimal safety in wintry conditions. All Semperit winter tyres conform to the industry standard and carry the “Snowflake on the Mountain” symbol. Semperit – alpine proven. With good reason! For over 70 years the Semperit brand has stood for modern winter tyres. The origins of the brand in Austria give credence to its “alpine proven” quality claim, which promises maximum safety even under the most extreme alpine conditions. Serpentines, steep gradients and changing weather conditions in high mountainous regions place tough demands on tyres in terms of grip during braking and setting off. Good marks in the test reports published by the trade press confirm that you can rely on Semperit winter tyres. Improved performance on snow Additional gripping edges ensure improved interlocking of the tyre on snow. Very good braking on ice Optimal scraping edges through straight sipes design in the centre section. Your advantage: safe driving on wet and slushy roads as a result of reduced aquaplaning. Reduced rolling resistance Improved rubber compound for excellent grip and reduced rolling resistance. 13“ to 15“ – Series 80 to 55 – T (up to 190 km/h) Optimized stiffness E ven wear and high mileage performance. Network sipes technology E xcellent traction due to numerous grip ping edges. Anti-frost rubber compound Consistently high grip in snow and throughout the entire service life. ice Your advantage: lower fuel con sumption and therefore very efficient.
