•  This sequence of slide packs show a mini baAle on open terrain between Mid-‐Republican Romans under Scipio and Carthaginians under Hannibal. •  The armies are small started armies – around 6250pts compared to a full compeJJon army of 10-‐12,000 pts. •  The packs take you through a full TURN and over the course of 4 TURNS the complete game. •  Here are out two small armies downloaded from the MeG army builder. © SHALL Enterprises 2016 Two types of Troops – TuGs and SuGs
•  A TuG is a TacJcal unit Grouping. Represents several real units pulled together under a junior general/leader. Typically 4-‐8 bases for Infantry and 4-‐6 for Cavalry. They are there to win the baAle by defeaJng the opposing players main baAle troops (their TuGs). They break when they reach 50% losses. •  A SuG is a Skirmishing unit Grouping. Represents a grouped mass of skirmishers. They are there to harass and inflict minor damage. They break when they reach 33% losses. •  TuGs can push SuGs around. •  A TuG can pull a single SuG around – so “TuG a SuG”. •  An Army can only be broken by rouJng half of its TuGs. Losing SuGs does not break an army. © SHALL Enterprises 2016 © SHALL Enterprises 2016 1.  Strong Cavalry and Skirmishers. 2.  Will try to weaken Romans with 4 SuGs of Numidians. 3.  And try to swamp the flanks to envelope them. 1.  Strong Infantry TuGs. 2.  Legion 1 very tough and will seek to close with enemy foot. 3.  Cavalry vulnerable to Numidians and Spanish Cavalry. 4.  Ballistae to cause irritaJon – always a RED card to move. 5.  Velites are PROTECTED and can therefore force away weaker skirmishers. © SHALL Enterprises 2016 The Commands
