(continued from page 1) The DaVinci special camera provides the surgeon with a remarkably clear and highly magnified 3-D view of the anatomy provided by the system. Prior to DaVinci ® Prostatectomy, the conventional approach to removing the prostate gland required a large incision on the lower abdomen. With the advent of this new procedure, recovery time is quicker, and the patient enjoys significant benefits that change the surgical experience . The precision of the DaVinci operative approach has been demonstrated to include improved cancer control, early return of urinary function and improved outcomes for potency. DaVinci also means smaller incisions, less pain, less blood loss, less risk of infection, shorter hospital stay, less scarring, and a quicker return to normal activities. Dr. Bromberg adds: “Robotics is truly the next stage in the evolution of minimally invasive surgery. There is no question in my mind that such advances are transforming the standard of care for men with curable prostate cancer.” If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and would like to learn more about the DaVinci procedure, call for an appointment with Dr. Bromberg at 914-242-1520. ■
