The Global Problem:
Contaminated water is the #1 health
issue in the world, affecting …
The Children
!   1.2 (20%) billion people without
access to safe water; by 2050 up to
50%
!   Global: one child dies per second/
approx. 7,000 per day
!   More people die from WBD
than from all communicable
diseases combined
!   50% of hospital beds are occupied by
people with waterborne diseases
!   In the past 10 years, diarrhea has
killed more children worldwide than all
the people lost to armed conflict since

TWI: Decentralized Water
Advocate
“The Water Initiative creates global point-of-use purification
systems to safeguard the “last mile of water”.
“Dedicated to building trusted solutions to satisfy the world’s thirst
for clean drinking water through local partnerships.”
- The United Nations: World Water Symposium on Water Security
Kevin McGovern and his team are leading the revolution of new thinking
on how to effectively deliver water to consumers.
~ Alan Hinchman, Infrastructure Marketing Director for GE Intelligent Platforms
“The Water initiative (is)
a business that brings
water purification
systems to homes and
organizations
worldwide.”
-Fortune, April 13th, 2010
“The Water Initiative, has developed a
filtering device that takes all the nasties
out of water in the home and needs to
be replaced only once a year. Unlike
osmosis, it consumes no energy, and
every drop of incoming water can be
used for drinking.”
-The Economist, May 22, 2010,
A Special Issue on Water
“The Water Initiative
manufactures and
distributes water
purification devices”
- Bloomberg Business
week
“We believe that the Point-of-Drinking solutions that TWI has created
and deployed can form an integral part of Mexico’s, and any nation’s,
water quality improvement strategy.”
