This proven six hour course is unique in Southern Alberta, designed to
improve driver skills and increased awareness necessary to conduct a
vehicle safely under typical Alberta winter driving conditions.
These courses are run in the students own vehicle which ensures that the
student can successfully accomplish these techniques when on the road.
This program is ideal for new or less experienced drivers, companies that

3. Clear your vehicle of snow. Make
sure all windows and lights are
clear of snow before you set out.
4. Plan your route. Avoid inclines,
declines and bridges whenever
possible.
5. Drive to the conditions. Severe
winter conditions can reduce
traction by 90% - which means it
can increase your braking distance
tenfold.
6. Look Ahead. With treacherous
and reduced visibility you need to
anticipate hazards.
7. Avoid distractions such as high
radio volume and cell phone use.
8. Apply one force at a time. With
reduced traction avoid applying the
brakes or accelerating while turning
whenever possible.
9. Gentle with the controls. To avoid
spinning or locking the tires, or
generating a skid, apply all of the
controls smoothly and
progressively.
10. Take a winter driving course.
Our program allows you to practice
accident avoidance maneuvers in a
safe environment.
