Newborns come with lots of needs
Newborns come with lots of needs Especially “micro preemie” babies. THAT’S WHERE YOU CAN HELP! The mission of Bundles of Joy is to provide the most basic needs for these little ones. Donating new layette items helps families as they celebrate their new “Bundle of Joy”. Bundles of Joy is a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado (RMHCSC) that deepens the level of support to families staying at our Ronald McDonald House. Our House has been a home-away-from-home for more than 9,000 families with critically ill children, primarily from Southern Colorado, Northern New Mexico, Western Kansas and beyond. Annually, the cornerstone programs of RMHCSC serve over 4,000 children in need at our Ronald McDonald House, in the three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms (located in area hospitals) and on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. RMHCSC raises 100% of our annual operating budget from our community. Thank you for supporting the work we’ve done since 1987. For more information, please visit our website at www.rmhcsoutherncolorado.org. Bundles of Joy provides the most needed items to families with new little ones. We support and care for families during the critically ill child’s hospitalization, when the baby is discharged and when everyone gets to go home. Bundles of Joy is a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado. WHAT IS BUNDLES OF JOY? Most families served at our Ronald McDonald House have premature babies who often require lengthy hospitalizations, surgeries and extensive medical treatment to help the babies survive and thrive. During these hospitalizations, our Ronald McDonald House is a “home-away-from-home” ensuring parents can remain nearby and help care for their fragile little ones - because love, kisses and hugs make medical protocols work even better. Studies consistently show that keeping families together helps seriously ill children cope better and heal faster. With their real homes far away, most parents have not had the opportunity to have a baby shower. When their newborn is finally released, parents find they are unprepared for all the things their baby requires. The support from Bundles of Joy provides families the basic necessities a new baby needs - so that these parents have one less thing to worry about. NEW ITEMS MOST NEEDED FOR BUNDLES OF JOY • Onesies • Sleeping gowns • Receiving blankets • Swaddling sleepers • Disposable diapers • Cloth diapers • Bottle brushes • Handmade items (blankets, sweaters, hats) • Special remembrance items • Small gifts for siblings (books, toys) • Gift cards for parents (dinner, movie) • Gifts for Mom (hand cream, bubble bath) Each Bundles of Joy baby shower costs approximately $100. If you would like to “adopt a shower” you can make a monetary donation by going to our website www.rmhcsoutherncolorado, click the “donate now” button and write “Bundles of Joy” in the description box.
