Repetitive Templates
Repetitive Templates allow you to retain and easily
access essential transaction information for future use.
All templates require secondary approval prior to use.
One Operator creates the template while another
Operator, with the proper authority, approves the
template, making it available to all entitled operators.

Repetitive Templates: Creating Repetitive Templates
Repetitive templates allow you to store transaction information for future use. Templates are created for
both a specific debit account and payment type. Once a template has been created, it can easily be
retrieved using a unique Template ID.
To create, maintain, or approve any repetitive templates, click the Manage hyperlink from the left-side of
the screen. The Manage Templates screen will display. Begin by clicking the drop-down arrow and

Repetitive Templates: Creating Repetitive Templates (continued)
A blank template will display. Templates will vary between payment types. However, they are all laid
out in the same basic way. Below is the Repetitive Domestic Wire. All * fields are required.
Exclude Template from Auto-Approval Process : if your company
uses the Auto-Approve feature for repetitive transactions (where repetitive
transactions under a certain amount do not require a manual approval),
you can exclude specific templates from that process
Template ID / Template Name - unique indicators that allow you to
identify this particular template. Template ID can be up to 10-digit
alphanumeric code. Template Name can be up to 20 alphanumeric
characters.
Debit Account - the account from which funds will always be drawn
when using this template.
Amount – You can leave the amount open for editing when the template
is used for initiation or you can choose to pre-fill it with an amount. When
you check the “Allow Amount Changes at Initiation”, the initiator will be
able to edit the amount. Optionally, if you want to set a Maximum Amount
for the template, this will allow the initiator to change the amount, but not
to exceed the limit. Alternately, you can enter the amount and lock it
down so that it cannot be changed when the template is used for
initiation. If you leave the “Allow Amount Changes at Initiation”
unchecked, the initiator will not be able to change the amount.
Beneficiary Bank ID - the 9-digit ABA routing number (or SWIFT ID
code in the case of international wires) of the bank to which funds will be
sent.
Beneficiary Bank Name/Beneficiary Bank Address - populates
automatically upon entering the Bank ID.
Beneficiary Account/Beneficiary Name - belong to the ultimate
recipient of the wire; the Beneficiary Address field is not required.
However, providing the beneficiary’s address is a suggested practice as it
helps us to better ensure the wire’s proper delivery and credit.
Reference for Beneficiary (RFB) and Originator to Beneficiary
Information (OBI) - used to provide the beneficiary party additional
information related to the wire transfer. The RFB field allows for 16
characters and/or spaces and the OBI field allows for 140 characters. By
checking the box, you are allowing there to be changes to the RFB and
OBI information at initiation. By unchecking the box, you are locking down
the field so that changes may not be made.

There are two features which allow you to provide necessary information if there is a Receiving Bank
and/or Order Party. Because this information is not always necessary, these fields are hidden by default.
Click on the expansion triangles to expand.
A Receiving Bank acts as an
intermediary between the originating
bank and the beneficiary’s bank.
This information is frequently used
when initiating international wires.
Order Party information is used to
identify the party or individual, if
different than the debit party, for
whom
the
transfer
is
being
originated.
For International wires, there is a field for Charge Party. This
field designates the party that will assume any charges assessed
by an intermediary bank to process the item and forward to the
appropriate beneficiary bank.

Non-Repetitive Wires
Non-repetitive wires, or freeform wires as they are commonly called, do not
originate from repetitive templates. They are wires initiated and approved for
one-time transactions. These wires always require secondary approval. This
means the same Operator cannot initiate and approve the same wire transfer.
Another Operator, with approval entitlements, will need to approve the wire
before the transfer can be completed.

Payment File Import
Payment File Import is a feature of the Funds Transfer Service that will save you time
associated with manually keying in wire transfer instructions by importing files
created from another system or application. When the files are successfully imported
into PINACLE® Web, the wire transfers have been initiated and only require to be
approved to complete the transfer. The Funds Transfer file import capabilities of
PINACLE® Web are made available to all clients having access to the Funds Transfer
module. The import limit is defined by your maximum company dollar amount pre-set
by PNC’s implementation team.

Funds Transfer (Wire)
Payment File Import
The file import feature allows you to import files created in another application. When the files are
imported into PINACLE® Web, you only need to approve them to complete the transfer.
Before importing your file, you must define the mapping specifications of the import format you intend to
use. The same specs can be used each time you import your payment files.
There are four basic steps to using Payment File Import:
 STEP 1: Creating and defining an import format (specifications for the import file including file format and field
mapping details).
 STEP 2: Importing payment files into the Funds Transfer Module.
 STEP 3: Accessing the import reports.
 STEP 4: Managing import formats.
There are two types of supported files
Fixed Width Text – A file format that contains data in a continuous string of characters and spaces.
Each character and space defines a separate column. To define a field, you must specify a span of
numbers that corresponds to where that field begins and ends in the import file. Specify the
beginning and length of each field by their values in the import format.
Delimited Text – A file format that uses a delimiter to separate fields. Specify the order of the
fields as they appear in the file to be imported by entering the number in the import format.

Approving, Modifying, and Deleting
Templates and Wires
The Funds Transfer system requires one Operator ID to initiate a wire or template
and a different Operator ID to approve the wire or template. A wire does not
process until it is approved in PINACLE®. If you future date a wire, it must be
approved within 48 hours of the initiation date.
An Operator may modify or delete their own template. However, a different
operator with approver entitlements must approve the changes before the wire or
template can be used for payment.

Automated Transaction Approval Form
Funds Transfer is setup so that one Operator initiates
a wire, and another Operator, with appropriate
entitlements, approves that wire. This means the
same Operator cannot initiate and approve the same
wire.
While many companies believe this process offers
adequate procedural safeguards against fraud and
money laundering, some companies opt to waive this
feature for repetitive transactions.
The Automated Transaction Approval Form allows a
company to waive the need for the approval of only
repetitive wires (those wires originating from a
repetitive template). The Template would still need
to be approved when created.
1,000,000.00
As part of this form, a company must indicate a
threshold dollar limit under which repetitive wires are
automatically approved. If the transaction is below
the dollar limit threshold defined by the Company, it
will be auto-approved.

Administration
PNC creates two administrative IDs for every company using PINACLE®: Admin1 and
Admin2. For nearly every PINACLE® service offered, Admins have been granted full
access to their company’s entitlements. The Funds Transfer module poses an exception
to this process. While both Admins are granted access to the module by PNC, the dollar
limits for each have been preset at $0.00. For either Admin to effectively use the module,
each must update the other’s service-level entitlements to reflect appropriate dollar limits
for that Admin to initiate and approve wires. The remaining slides offer an overview of
this process. Remember a token must be assigned to an Operator to be able to access
Funds Transfer.
