Board Meeting April 30, 2014
Location: El Nopal, Middletown, KY
Regional Executive Jamey McDaniel called meeting to order at 7:40
p.m.
The following were present: Jamey Mcdaniel, Rich Sinnock, Nathan
Steinke, Dave Melton, Brian Mason,
Shawn Lambert, Tony Morrow, Annie Steinke and Armando Manzo.
Jamie Mcdaniel presented the March, 2014 minutes for review. The
minutes were accepted.
Financial Report: Treasurer Rich Sinnock reported on club financials.
Club finances are in good shape All bills are up to date and good
standing
Point Event #2 reported as profitable Financial report motioned to
accept by Dave and seconded by Shawn to accept. Passed by board
members.
Membership Report: Not reported at this meeting.
Old Business:
• Motorsportreg.com: Payment options reviewed.
• 2014 End of Year Banquet: Budget discussed. Dave motioned for
a $4000 planning budget, less attendee ticket sales input to offset
costs. Nathan seconded and motion passed.
• Car Show Promotional Package: Discussed possible materials and
upcoming events to promote KYSCCA at regional shows and events.
Tabled.
• Event Radios: New units purchased to replace missing and/or
broken units.
New Business:
• Solo Events: Run order fairness discussed and re-affirmed to rotate
classes between events.
• KYSCCA Driving School: Discussion of including a ‘test and tune’
event. Tabled for further discussion. Motion to move location for
school to KEC by Shawn and seconded by Dave. Motion passed.
• Points Event #3: Shawn Lambert selected to chair the event.
• Audio Cables: New units purchased to replace worn units.
• Electric Cord Protectors: Motion to budget $200 for new units by
Rich and seconded by Shawn. Motion passed.
• Foam Protective Boxes for Timing System: Motion to budget $110
by Nathan and seconded by Shawn. Motion passed.

Faster
• Display Hard Cases for Timing Displays: Motion to budget $350
for replacement cases by Dave and seconded by Nathan. Motion
passed.
• Timing Displays: Discussed condition of units and replacements.
Tabled for further discussion.
• Cone Carts: Discussed current condition, capacities and
modifications. No action.
• Event Speakers: Discussion of purchasing a new unit. Tabled for
further research of type and pricing.
• Night Solo Event: Discussed logistics, locations and feedback from
membership. Tabled.
• Club Domain Purchasing/Ownership: Motion to purchase
ownerships for domain names that the club may use. Motioned by
Nathan to budget $180 and seconded by Dave. Motion Passed.
• New Club Website Hosting Vendor: Account changed to GoDaddy.
com. New website format also discussed.
• Event Recycle Containers: Motion to purchase two units with a
budget of $100 by Nathan and seconded by Dave. Motion passed.
• Father’s Day Promotion at Event: Motion for discount for drivers
with their children riders. Motion by Shawn and seconded by Nathan.
Motion passed.
• Formula SAE Benefit Event: Proposed date of 8/17. Tabled for
further discussion.
• Kroger-NASCAR Promo Events: Promotional booth offered to club,
locations, dates and promotional displays were discussed. Tabled for
further discussion and research.
• Red Event Flags: Replacement flags discussed. Jamie was
designated to find and purchase replacement flags by motion from
Shawn and seconded by Rick.
Rich made a motion to adjourn and seconded by Shawn. Motion
passed.

Getting faster is even more fun..."

Walk the course at least 5 times with
focus. The more you chat about the
weather the less you will probably
pick up about the course. Save the chats until after the walk
when you taunt your now "slower than you" competitor friends
Don't stop walking until you can close your eyes and run the
course in your mind picturing EVERY feature on the course
including key cones. It helps to draw a crude sketch of the
course and make notes for sections you want to pay close
attention to. When you take your first run you won't be using
half of your brain power trying to figure out where to go next.
On your first run it will feel like you've already driven the
course several times.
After every run WRITE DOWN (only) one thing you felt you did
very well and (only) one thing you want to focus on the next
run. Writing them down one at a time and only focusing on one
change per run is a key to getting faster by run 4 or 5 vs just
making different mistakes and not knowing what helped/hurt.
If you don't write them down you will probably forget what you
were thinking with all the processing your mind is having to
do. Take your notes on the course map you drew during your
course walk to put them on proper context.
