Presents: Esalen® Massage Intensives
with Nora Matten
The Art of Esalen® Massage
September 20th - 23rd 2012
Sydney Australia
Esalen® Massage is best known for it's long flowing strokes and quality of touch. When touch is connected to our sensing and
feeling nature, massage can move beyond technique into the art of healing.
During this workshop I will teach the fundamental elements of Esalen® Massage, such as breath awareness, quality of touch
and long integrative strokes over the whole body, moving from the general to the specific.
We will explore the profound effect touching with presence, sensitivity, and listening hands has on another being. A daily
movement practice will help bring more awareness and presence into our immediate experience, while also offering valuable
tools for self-care. From this deepened contact with ourselves, we will move into touching each other, practicing creative variations of Esalen® Massage strokes both gentle and deep in an effortless flow over the whole body, each session becoming a
wavelike dance of listening and responding, breath and movement, giving and receiving. Massaging in this way helps us to
release the stresses of everyday life and reconnect to the source of our being, leaving us with a sense of presence, deep relaxation, wholeness, and vibrant well-being.
This class is suitable for bodywork practitioners who would like to integrate the art of Esalen® Massage into their work as well
as for those who would like to explore the art of healing touch for the first time.

Esalen® Massage & the Art of Integrating Movement and Stretches
September 27th - 30th 2012 Sydney Australia
Esalen® Massage is best known for it's long flowing strokes and quality of touch, as well as for integrating stretches and
movement into the session.
During this workshop I will teach the fundamental elements of Esalen® Massage, such as breath awareness, quality of touch
and long integrative strokes over the whole body, while focusing on exploring the range of motion of joints and integrating
movement and stretches into our session. This expands the range of experience for the client and the sense of possibilities and creativity for the practitioner tremendously.
A daily movement practice will help bring more awareness and presence into our immediate experience, while also offering
valuable tools for self-care. From this deepened contact with ourselves, we will move into touching each other, practicing creative variations of Esalen® Massage strokes both gentle and deep and focus on bringing movement and stretches into our sessions.
We will aim at making each session an effortless flow of breath and movement, listening and responding to what is needed
and giving and receiving. Massaging in this way helps both, the receiver as well as the practitioner to release the stresses of
everyday life and reconnect to the source of being, leaving both with a sense of presence, deep relaxation, wholeness, and
vibrant well-being.
This class is suitable for those who already have experience as a bodywork practitioner and who would like to integrate
