FACT SHEET American Century Championship Golf Bag Auction In partnership with NBC Sports and the 2015 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship, Vessel will provide celebrity golf tournament participants with a custom stand golf bag, which will be autographed by each celebrity and auctioned during the tournament. The auction will open July 14 at 12 a.m. and closes July 19 at 3 p.m. PST. Winners will be announced on July 19. The minimum starting bid for a celebrity golf bag is $200. From there, bids increase in increments of $50. All proceeds from the celebrity golf bag auction go directly to the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, a research organization focused on the development of innovative approaches to treat, diagnose and prevent cancer. Last year, Green Bay Packers’ Quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ golf bag auctioned for $2,000, followed by Jim McMahon, Roger Clemens, Brian Urlacher and Annika Sorenstam.
