Retractable Twistlock Type WCI 151/2.
A fully retractable twistlock designed to
secure ISO and special containers to rigid,
skeletal and platform vehicles/chassis. The
securing head retracts below deck level to
allow non-containerised loads to be carried.
Non-Retractable Twistlock
Type WCI 149 2NR.
A non-retractable twistlock simply fitted to
vehicle/chassis. The securing head remains
permanently proud of the deck for loading
containers in the shortest possible time.
It has a weldable cast steel body and is
designed for interchangeability of spare
parts.
Retractable Twistlock Type WCI 151/3.
Designed to secure ISO and special
containers to rigid, skeletal and platform
vehicles/chassis. Allows non-containerised
loads to be carried by retracting below deck
level. It has a cost effective fabricated steel
body and is designed for interchangeability
of spare parts.
Retractable Twistlock Type WCI 148 RNS.
Designed to secure ISO and special
containers to rigid, skeletal and platform
vehicles/chassis. The securing head
retracts below deck level to allow the
carriage of non-containerised loads. On the
Mk1 version the head can be raised with
the container in position.
Retractable Screwdown Twistlock
Type WCI 148 RS.
This heavy duty twistlock is available with
third lock providing the ultimate in load
security. On the Mk1 version the head can
be raised with the container in position.
Retractable Screwdown Twistlock
Type WCI 162 RSB.
A fully retractable screwdown twistlock
designed specifically for demountable
applications. The head can be raised with
the container in position and will screwdown
onto any thickness aperture plate. Available
with weld on or bolt on back plate. Simple
to operate.
Non-Retractable Screwdown Twistlock
Type WCI 149 NRS.
The securing head remains permanently
proud of the deck for loading containers in
the shortest possible time. The screwdown
facility and an optional vertical bolt ensures
safety for loads during transportation.
Special Applications
Cushion-Lok Type WCI 1058.
Specifically designed to meet the stringent
demands made by the military for the
operation of containerised and demountable
units in combat areas. It has specially
formed polymer pads bonded to the contact
face which reduces noise and vibration.
Double Retractable Twistlock
Type WCI 1313.
Based on WCI 151/3 fabricated twistlock
design. For central location on 40’-0”
trailers. Twistlock centres are pre-set to
ISO dimensions, keeping assembly costs to
a minimum.
Marine Twistlock Type WCI 1515.
Designed for multiple stacking of containers
or swap bodies.

UIC Twistlock Type WCI 623.
This ruggedly constructed twistlock has
been designed to secure ISO and special
containers to railway wagons. It can be
hinged back when not in use, and can be
supplied with the locating spigot in the
longitudinal position for side attachment.
Rail Wagon Twistlock Type WCI 1965.
Interchangeable UIC type design
incorporating “twistlock” features. Can be
used in multiple positions. Ideal for use on
swap body carrying wagons. Accepted for
use by National Rail.
RO-RO Twistlock Type WCI 1075.
This swingdown twistlock is suitable for
most Roll-on Roll-off applications. Its rugged
design ensures long life and serviceability.

Weldseal Door Hinge Type WCI 500.
This William Cook Intermodal patented
door hinge completely seals against water
ingress. When normal welding takes place
the heat causes a mastic type sealant on
the rear face to expand thus eliminating this
known corrosion trap.

Aluminium corner fittings to ISO dimensions
and ratings.
Mini-Box Corner Casting Type WCI 4620.
Designed for 10’ x 8’ offshore and mini
containers. S.W.L. of 20 Tonnes per set of 4.

RetRactable twistlock Type WCI 148 RS and WCI 148 RS3 Mk1 (Third Lock)
this twistlock offers the user the following
important advantages:
• Simply fitted to the vehicle/chassis, usually by
welding.
• Weldable cast steel body and forged steel stem to
ensure rugged strength and durability.
• Securing head retracts below deck level to allow the
carriage of non-containerised loads.
• Head can be engaged with container in position, an
advantage to swop-body builders.
• Third lock prevents accidental unscrewing of
handnut, an additional safety feature. (WCI 148
RS3 only).
NB: not recommended for tipping applications.
See WCI 149 NRS 3HTS.
Twistlock in retracted position with handle turned to left.
1. Fully unscrew handnut.
2. Turn handle through 90o until index is engaged and
handle is facing outward.
3. Load container onto vehicle.
4. Fully raise head and turn handle 90o to the left until
index is engaged
5. Tighten handnut.
6. Lower pin between handnut spokes (WCI 148/RS3
only).

To Unlock
1. Lift pin clear of handnut spokes (WCI 148 RS3
only).
3. Raise head, turn handle 180o to the right until index
is engaged.
4. Turn handle back through 90o until index is engaged
and handle is facing outwards.
5. Head will now retract.
6. Remove container from vehicle.
7. Turn handle 90o to left.
8. Tighten up handnut.

Design and Survey
The Castings we supply shall be in accordance with the technical requirements of I.S.O. 1161, also the survey of
Lloyd’s Register of Shipping or Germanischer Lloyd, as undernoted.

Impact Properties
The steel shall be of the kind which, with Charpy Vee Notch Tests taken upon separately prepared test bars, gives
minimum impact figures of 20.3 Joules at minimum of minus 40°c. If the Corner Castings are intended for service at
temperatures below minus 40°c, impact tests shall be carried out in accordance with the inspection authority. In such
cases the service temperature is to be specified on the purchase order for Corner fittings.
Stossfestigkeits

Der Stahl muss derart beschaffen sein, dass er, bei Charpy Scharfkerbprüfungen, die auf separat bereiteten
Prüfungsstangen vorgenommen werden, eine Stossfestigkeit mit einem Minimum von 20,3 in Jouleschen Ziffern
aufweist und dies bei einer Minimumtemperatur von minus 40° Celcius. Sollten die Eck-guss-stücke für Dienstleistung
bei Temperaturen unter minus 40° Celsius in Betracht gezogen werden, so müssen die Stossfestigkeits-prüfungen
im Einklang mit der Aufsichtsbehorde ausgefOhrt werden. In solchen Fällen muss die Leistungs-temperatur im
Kaufauftrag für die Eckverbundstücke genau spezifiziert werden.
