ECOLOGICAL SOLID WASTE
MANAGEMENT ACT 2000 .
ABE ABE, SAUP-SAUP, ALANG MALAKWAN!
On July 10, 2000 a trash avalanche on
a slope of towering mountain of
garbage buried 205 people alive.
That tragedy was instrumental in the
enactment of the Ecological Solid
Waste Management Act of 2000, and
was signed into law on January 26,
2001.

MISSION
TO IMPLEMENT COMPREHENSIVE SOLID
WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM THAT WILL
INSTITUTIONALIZE EXISTING ENVIRONMENTAL
LAWS SUCH AS RA 9003 OR THE ECOLOGICAL
SOLID WASTE OF 2000.
