Retubing® is a registered trademark of a specialised division of the
Vanguard Marine group providing made-to-order manufacture of tubes
and the replacement of tubes made by different manufacturers for the
refurbishment of all types and lengths of professional and sports
semi-rigid boats, providing a cost-effective means of doubling
of their useful life and extending operation for a significant
period of time. Retubing® production takes place at a modern
industrial facility that has been specially designed, built and equipped
for the manufacture of tubes and other inflatable articles. The technical
staff and know-how of the company represent over 30 years of
experience in the sector, manufacturing thousands of boats in this
period.
Quality Assurance
All tubes are designed and manufactured in line with
the ISO 6185 standard for sports use or to the most
demanding technical specifications required by
various professional bodies, such as the SOLAS/IMO
regulations, rescue organisations and military
specifications for the armed forces. This manufacture
system is complemented by the application of an
exhaustive ISO 9001:2008 quality management
system, certified by LQA.
Customised Finish
Each tube can be finished with customised finishings and
supports, such as relief valves, anti-slip reinforcements for areas
subject to wear, bands, handles, D-rings, lugs and bow cleats in
line with customer requirements based on the activity and
performance requirements of the craft, or simply aesthetic
considerations.

Materials
Tubes can be manufactured from any of the
three existing materials on the market, PVC,
Neoprene–Hypalon and Polyurethane PU, in
line with customer requirements. Vanguard
Marine holds a stock of all these materials
and can provide independent advice on the
best material for specific activities.
PVC and Polyurethane PU are manufactured
using mechanical and robotic systems,
together with Thermosealing® technology, a
highly cost-effective industrial process that
ensures consistent quality. The
Neoprene–Hypalon manufacture process
uses the traditional manual cold gluing
method.
Thermosealing® is the industrial process for
assembling the different parts of the air tube
using a simultaneous double seal process
rolled at high pressure, with double band
inner/outer joins that make the seams
stronger that the materials that are used.

Upon completion of the
manufacture process, if customers have
supplied the full craft to the factory, the
tube is fitted to the hull. Optionally, the
new tube and its anchoring for fitting to
the hull can be shipped to the official
Retubing® service closest to the customer.
Retubing® can also travel to the customer
site if there are difficulties in transporting
the boat to a workshop.
The operation for replacing tubes is
complemented by a door-to-door transport
service with a competitive range of agreed
prices.
