Williams, Membership Director Charlotte to the King’s Columbia to the King’s Please join me in welcoming the 34 new MBCA Peachtree Section Members! View Through The Star by Doug Geganto, Section President I Looking Back t's the people who make our club great! Throughout the year we have tried to provide you with a variety of activities and events that would interest everyone. I think the event planners succeeded this year with scheduling events every month. Most importantly, the tremendous support and participation for our events this year has been phenomenal. 7KHUHKDYHEHHQVRPDQ\¿UVWWLPHDWWHQGHHVWKLV\HDUZKLFK is wonderful. I truly hope that those of you who have attended an event this year have met and made some new friends, I know I have! That said it is now time to look forward toward 2016. Looking Forward In July we conducted an Event Planners Workshop and took away from our brainstorming session a great many ideas for different types of events for the coming year. Our goal, going forward, is to try to develop and schedule a greater variety of activities for next year and to include more family type events. I believe the Aviation Museum event this past July perfectly demonstrated this type of event, as there were several families with children who attended. JoAnne Taylor, our new VicePresident and Event Planner Director has the results of the brainstorming session. However, this is your club so if you have an idea for an event put together some details and forward to JoAnne at [email protected]. 2XU 1HZVOHWWHU (GLWRU DQG :HE 0DVWHU 'LDQD 4XLQQ KDV completely redesigned our club webpage. It’s quite impressive and provides a brief summary of upcoming events and best of all a photo gallery from our past events. Check out the new webpage at www.mbcapeachtree.org As we approach the last quarter of 2015 there are still many activities to participate in. The Fall Foliage tour and lunch at the end of October, Hilton Head Concours in November, and, of course, the annual holiday luncheon on December 5th .at the Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville. Details for these events are in this newsletter. I certainly hope to see you at one or more of our upcoming events. We offer high speed balancing on you vehicle, analyzing the wheel and tire allowing us to see the run out (how much the tire is moving) while it is operating on your vehicle. People always ask me how long I have been with the company and I say “all my life” because we are so passionate and all of us are car guys and see the beauty in some of the trends going around right now. We don’t always understand what the purpose may be, but when we see something cool or something awesome come through the door chances are the whole company will know about it because we will start calling. You cant’ believe what came in today and we see some unique stuff. %XWOHU7LUHIRU¿YH\HDUVKDVVSRQVRUHGWKH&DIIHLQHDQG2FWDQHDIUHHFDUVKRZRQWKH¿UVW6XQGD\RIHYHU\PRQWKIURP 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Perimeter Mall in the main lot outside Macy’s. There are about 1,200 cars on display including Exotics and cars from various car clubs and draws 8,500 people. © Germany Greer Butler Tire is a completely family operated business and we pride ourselves on that we don’t like going any where and beating our chest and saying we are the best, we like for our work to speak for it self. We strive to be the best and offer the best quality products. The business has been going for almost forty years now and my uncle is very meticulous about how the business should be run and how our customers should be treated. We feel that when you do become a Butler customer you almost become a part of the family, because our turn over rate for employees is minimal and we have guys that have been here since day one that are still working for us. What we have found is a lot of times people walk into a tire store and never know who they are going to deal with because of so much turnover. We work hard at making sure the work environment is somewhere that somebody wants to stay. With us, if you come in today, chances are that in the next year or the year after you're going to deal with the same person who knows your vehicle history and who knows your driving style, and probably knows what he sold you the last time. That is something different and unique to us. © Germany Greer None of our guys are commission based, so they are not going to try to sell you something that you don’t need. Often people come in for tire inspections and they think they need new tires and we will advise them that they still have 5,000 miles left on their tires. If they want, we can change them , but they are okay for another 5,000 miles and send them on their way and wait for them to come back in another 5,000 miles for new tires. The event this year in Augusta was to celebrate Mercedes-Benz ownership that turned out to be a great success. There were several members and non-members that came together for this event at Mercedes-Benz of Augusta. We had over 35 cars, old to new, in the parking lot for an informal car show to be viewed by everyone including customers of Mercedes-Benz of Augusta. Many asked questions and were answered by the owners of these cars. There were over 68 people to hear information through out the day consisting of a technical talk answering questions about technical information about Mercedes-Benz automobiles. A special guest talked about the training mechanics receive before working at any Mercedes-Benz facility. Then information from the detail department talked about how they detail customer’s cars and what products are safe to use on your paint and inside your car for the best protection. After the tech talk there was a great presentation on European delivery from one of the Mercedes-Benz of Augusta sales staff. Many new customers learning how they can order a new Mercedes-Benz and drive it in Germany and then take delivery in the United States at their dealership.
