While the maintenance intervals are much larger with the sealed shaft joints, it’s still important to provide regular maintenance to ensure long life. Follow the steps below for proper maintenance: After every gallon of fuel*: 1. Pull the dust boots toward the middle of the shaft to inspect and clean the inner and outer shaft joints. Clean the joints and dust boots with denatured alcohol. 2. Inspect the drive cups, driveshafts, and dust boots for wear. 3. Re-lube the driveshaft joints with Traxxas thrust bearing lube (Part #2717). 4. Push the dust boots back over the joints. Make sure the boots fit snug around the joint. * If running in sandy or dusty conditions, perform these steps after every half-gallon. www.TRAXXAS.com Traxxas, 1100 Klein Road, Plano, TX 75074, Phone: 972-265-8000, Fax: 972-265-8011, e-mail: [email protected] Form 5128INST Constant Velocity Driveshafts Rebuild Covers Part #5125, 5126, 5127, 5128 Differential Assembly 5581 5119 5581 5119 5128 5128 5128 10x15x4BB 5128 5582 X-ring 10x15x4BB 5582 X-ring 5x10x0.5TW 5x10x0.5TW 5128 5128 5582 5581 5582 5581 5579 5579 5125 51255125 5125 5128 5128 E-clip E-clip 5125 5125 5128 5128 5125 E-clip 5125 E-clip 5581 5581 2524 5128 2524 5579 5128 5579 2.5x8CCS X-ring 2.5x8CCS X-ring 5128 5128 5119 5119 5582 5582 10x15x4BB 10x15x4BB 5x10x0.5TW 5x10x0.5TW Driveshaft Assembly 5128 5128 5127 5127 5128 5128 5126 5126 5125 5125 5128 5125 5128 5125 E-clip E-clip Rev 051229 5125 Drive cups, inner (2) (for steel constant velocity driveshafts)/ differential spider output gears (2)/ gaskets, hardware ..........$15.00 5126 Driveshaft, steel constant velocity (shaft only)/ drive cup pin (1) ..........................$9.50 5127 Stub axle, (1) (for steel constant velocity driveshaft) ..............................................$6.00 5128 Rebuild kit (for steel constant velocity driveshafts) (includes pins, dust boots, gaskets, e-clips, x-rings, lube, and hardware for two driveshaft assemblies)....$10.00 Steel constant velocity driveshaft maintenance The driveshafts are lubed and sealed at the factory and are built to last.
