The Creed
People: We believe in one God, the Father almighty, creator
of all that is seen and unseen. And in one Lord,
Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, the firstborn of
all creation, eternally begotten of the Father. True
God from true God, one in being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation, he came down from
heaven. By the power of the Holy Spirit, he took
flesh and became man. He was conceived and was
born from the Virgin Mary. He suffered and was
crucified under Pontius Pilate. He died and was
buried, and rose on the third day in fulfillment of the
scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at
the right hand of his Father. He will come again to
judge the living and the dead.
We believe in one Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son as a lifegiving Spirit. We believe in One, Holy, Catholic, and
Apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of our

For our sake, the only-begotten of God took from

and immortal soul. By his life-giving laws and holy
commandments, he led us from sin to the knowledge
of the truth. After his plan of salvation for us, the

rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. He
has given us his holy mysteries by which we recall all
his graces for us.
Therefore, with overflowing love and humility, let

Priest:
He, who has blessed us with every grace in heaven,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord, has given us his body
and blood as a pledge of eternal life that cannot be
corrupted.
He has invited us to his kingdom and has called us
and drawn us near to his everlasting joy that will
never fade, dissolve, or end. As he promised us in
his living gospel and said to the blessed disciples,
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever eats my flesh
and drinks my blood dwells in me and I in him,
and I shall raise him up on the last day, and he shall
not come to judgment, but I shall let him pass from
death to eternal life.”
May he bless our assembly, protect our community,
and sanctify our people, who have come and have
been renewed by the power of the glorious, holy,
life-giving, and divine mysteries. By the living sign
of the Lord’s cross, may you be sealed and preserved
