Julie Hayes
SUNDAY Stage Out Back 10:00 – 10:45am
Of Irish descent, the tradition of storytelling is embedded deep within
Julie Hayes’ core. Whether captured by her hypnotically, haunting
melodies or inspired by her poetic, percussive twist on life’s ebbs and
flows, prepare to be swept up in an atmospheric haze and elevated to a
space of clarity and timelessness.
Her musical roots of folk and rhythm stem from a culture as old and
timely as the misty mountains. Having drawn inspiration for her vocal
style from artists like Florence Welch, Joni Mitchell and Eva Cassidy,
spacious melodies allow you to truly hear the song’s intent. Fuelled by a
passion to deliver an experience of wild abandon in her live show,
percussive beats with unexpected twists encourage the audience to
connect to their natural rhythms.

demand. That perfect blend of sound, feel and look.
Maximising the use of hand tools and traditional techniques while using
modern machinery where it’s required coupled with high quality timber,
parts and passion ... I think is where it is at.
Feel free to get in contact to discuss anything from guitars to vintage

Kim Banffy
SATURDAY Rivershed 4:50 – 5:30pm
Kim Banffy's music is reminiscent of 60s-70s singer/songwriter style,
with a more modern, poppy, at times even slightly jazzy twist. Kim’s
songs have been compared by other musicians to Joni Mitchell’s, and
her voice to Joan Baez, Karen Carpenter and Sinead O’Connor, ranging
from sweet and pure to rich and full.
If you're a lyrics person this is for you. Kim has been dubbed ‘The Poets’
songwriter’ for her ability to build evocative word pictures with lyrics
and her skilful use of metaphor. This is an artist best-appreciated in
venues where you could hear a pin drop.

dandelions, clouds and ordinary lives being lived. Dave’s childhood
revolved around mountains and valleys, the chugging of village trains,

Peter van Herk
SUNDAY Rivershed 10:00 – 10:35am
For me, folk stories are not just about events but very much the
permutations of minds and relationships that give us understanding,
insight and sometimes just a good laugh. The music has to suit the words
and vice versa.
My style has been labelled 'Urban Folk' which I think is very cool and is
the first label I have no desire to push against.

Rowdy
SATURDAY Rivershed 11:00 – 11:45am
Rowdy's stepfather and his brothers always played guitar when he was a
kid, old country and western cowboy tunes. Rowdy had a go on the
guitar every now and then. Later in life, when he rented a little house,
someone had left behind a cassette of Neil Young's Harvest album. After
listening several times, he went out and bought a guitar and starting
learning to play by trial and error. He wrote a song called Fields of Green
a couple of weeks later. Over the next 20 years he wrote around 35
songs but never played outside the bedroom because he didn't think
anyone would like his music. Then, in 2011, he entered a competition
and won a prize. Since then he has grabbed any opportunity to hit the
stage where he plays his original music.

A four-piece tour de force prove categorically that Celtic music is as
relevant and rigorous as it ever was - a living, breathing organism. When
these lads explode onto stage, it is simply impossible to remain seated …
the phenomenal fiddle playing of Sebastian Flynn, the driving rhythm of
Bodhran & bass aficionado John Druery, the tenor banjo & mandolin
mastery of Martin Reese and the powerhouse vocals of legendary lead
singer/guitarist John Logan, coalesce to play the kind of music that
brings you to your senses…in the words of renowned ragamuffin Seamus

Walcott Guitars
Session Tent Convenor
Peter Walcott has been working with wood since 1975. He started his
working life as a timber shipwright. Peter has taken these skills and
applied them to his passion of making and playing acoustic guitars.
He feels that the energy in the guitar is very important. A guitar handbuilt with love and passion will always feel and play better than a guitar
that has come out of a production factory.

ACOUSTIC CLUB SHOWCASE 2 … SUNDAY Rivershed 11:00 – 12:30
ADRIAN DAVIS. Adrian's music is a compelling blend of
Aussie folk-rock and original tunes that speak of the land
and the people.
LIZZIE FLYNN. Lyrical honesty and charming
melodies, Lizzie Flynn writes songs that blend a little
satirical storytelling with a lot of joyful emotion.
CHRISALIS. Chrisalis will cover just about anything, any
genre, all decades from 1950 to now, and also slip in
random originals.
