When we left the halls of Central Catholic more than 50 years ago, we walked out with a copper-covered
yearbook that included 28 pages of pictures featuring the 510 seniors in the Class of 1964. It was an
exciting time; the world was ours for conquering, we were in command of our own destinies, and there
were many new paths to take. Our personal pages were blank, and our decisions and time would write
the final scripts filling the empty pages of our lives.
Here we are now. Fifty years have passed – filling many of those blank pages with memories of days
gone by, children, grandchildren, relationships, travel, successes, failures, and all the other things that life
has delivered.
The Reunion Committee is proud to present you with the 50-year Reunion Edition: 132 pages plus a onehour DVD that you have filled and allowed us to share with your classmates. We are grateful to those who
have taken the time to share their life stories with us and let us peek into the pages of their lives.

Noteworthy Life Event: One of the most gratifying things I have ever
done in my life has been working on this 50th CCHS Class reunion.
I found out that I graduated with 510 of the most wonderful and
interesting people on the planet. A diverse, eclectic, fun group that
I have been able to reconnect with, listen to, share stories with and
relive many great memories of a very special time in our lives.

in 2 of the plays, one of my songs “Narcisse” won the Canadian
Governor General’s Award in 2011, I hope to keep singing as long
as the audience keeps clapping, but I am approaching my “Best
Before” date there. Poetry, music and art can continue while there is
breath in the body and a spirit to explore new ideas.
I took 15 years off to care for my son, Brendan, who is
developmentally delayed. He had major surgeries as an infant,
falling prey to a near-fatal bout of meningitis, followed by years of
physiotherapy, speech therapy and Life-skills training, which is ongoing. Since my husbands death in 2003, I am his sole care giver.
Brendan can be a very helpful companion and lately has joined
me in our (historical) plays, supported by other local actors in our
community. Brendan is truly a Miracle, confounding the pessimistic
prognosis given to him by the doctors over 30 years ago....... As for
me I have been lucky to make this journey through Life as student,
Nurse, Wife, Mother, Nurse and therapist, staunch Advocate for
the rights of the developmentally disabled, caregiver for seniors,
Grandmother and Retiree. What lies ahead? More freedom.
I have unlocked my Muse from her tiny cell, confined for so many
years Buried beneath the needs of children, husband, home.
Frustrated, she beat upon the walls of her cloister, demanding to be
released.
There came a day when someone asked to hear my Muse; A song
perhaps? I’d almost forgotten where I kept the key to her door.
She ran into the Music Room.
Soon notes and words flowed, each one different in style and
substance, as my Muse stretched the boundaries of her creativity.
Emboldened by her sudden freedom, she visited rooms dusty from
disuse-- The quiet corners of the Written Word, the bright surrounds
of art.
Now my Muse disdains her Cloister, wandering freely down
unfamiliar halls.
Where will it all lead?
For now my Muse is restless and free.
Change and Growth are her constant companions, Creative Chaos
is the norm. Our journey promises to be exciting.........

Central Catholic High School played a major part in the foundation
building of the adult I came to be. Those core values and
experiences are there and hopefully being passed on to the next
generation. After being diagnosed with a rare Uterine Sarcoma in
2010 and surviving now and doing well, my husband and I decided
to return to live in Kuwait where we lived in the beginning of our
married life. Two of our married children live in Houston and two of
them live in Kuwait. Life is good.
