The iTube includes two active correction circuits that
are meant to improve your listening experience, just
like the New Old Stock (NOS) General Electric 5670
tube that’s hidden inside the iTube’s aluminum shell.
The iTube as a Buffer: as a buffer, the iTube is
meant to be used between source and preamp. With
the iTube buffer, there is more impact, fullness and
immediacy with no audible insertion loss. The iTube
as a Preamplifier: the jumper settings here engage
the volume control and turn the iTube into a tube
preamp with one input. The Sound is Remarkable!
With the Digital Antidote: enganging the digital
antidote did seem to soften the edginess of 16/44
recordings and MP3’s. Its a very useful tool when
listening to lesser recordings. 3D Holographic Sound:
enganging the 3D Holographic Sound was another
treat on may recordings. In the hi-fi setting, drums
seemed to have more impact, and sound more like
a drum. In desktop mode the soundstage really
expanded nicely.
