He built a new dam, a gristmill and a cotton-weaving factory. The area was named for him and known as Whipple City until it was incorporated as Union Village in 1809. The village was renamed Greenwich in 1867. Brought to you by the: Greater Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Inc. 6 Academy St. Greenwich, NY 12834 518 692-7979 Visit us on the web at http://www.greenwichchamber.org Welcome! Our annual Whipple City Festival has grown to be a community “Rite of Spring”. Each year friends and family gather in our parks to celebrate all that our community has to offer. Start the weekend off with the parade celebrating “Olympic Sports”. Try to guess which float will be recognized as the best float in each category. Visit with friends & family, enjoy the entertainment, take in the events, browse the craft vendor offerings and experience the food. Those visiting the festival for the first time have the chance to enjoy our beautiful community at its best. So take it easy. Relax and enjoy all that Greenwich has to offer this weekend: vibrant business districts, tree-lined streets, beautiful gardens, historic buildings and scenic countryside. We hope you enjoy the weekend. The Greater Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Inc. The Festival was made possible by the work of this group of dedicated volunteers: Donna Blair, Mathew Baker, Cailie Currin, Matt Donnelly, Christine Grogan, David Hall, Margaret Jones, Margaret Roberson, Kathy Nichols-Tomkins, Suzanne Seay and Mary Ann Spiezio A special thank you to our patrons: SUNDAY, JUNE 20 Entertainment at the Gazebo Noon - 2PM Bubbles the Clown strolling thru the park 1PM - 3:30PM Bob Warren In Dorr Park 10AM - 4PM Ellsworth’s Emu Farm 10AM - 4PM Bob Smith’s Reindeer Academy Street Activities start at Noon Noon - 3PM Noon - 3PM Noon - 3PM Noon - 3PM Family Carnival rides by Amyland Family Fun Games by GGCC & Beaver Cross Camp Laser Tag by Grin Mobile Laser Tag Dunking Booth In Mowry Park & along Main Street Noon - 12:30PM 11AM - 4PM 11AM - 4PM 11AM - 4PM 11AM - 4PM Greenwich Interfaith Council Service Country Craft Fair Community Organization Information Booths Delicious Food Choices Free Horse & Wagon Rides Boarding on Main St by St. Paul’s Church Many Thanks to...
