MEETING PEOPLE AT THEIR NEED ... EMPOWERING PEOPLE IN THEIR LIVES!
The Good Samaritan Network was formed in March of 1995, evolving from a group of programs and services in existence since
early 1980.
Mission
The mission of Good Samaritan Network is to demonstrate the unconditional love of Christ by serving the physical,
financial and emotional needs of at-risk individuals and families in Hamilton County.
Vision
The vision of Good Samaritan Network is to position ourselves in the community with a suitable location and with strong
physical and financial resources - aligned to an effective organizational structure for the facilitation, collaboration, and
coordination of appropriate services to those residents of Hamilton County in need of physical, spiritual and emotional
support; who find themselves among the at-risk people we serve.
Values
We are specialists in creating and nourishing relationships with county residents and Network partners as collaboratively
we focus on serving the underserved and at-risk in situational scarcity. (see our detailed values listing)
GSN provides direct care when clients have nowhere else to turn, especially considering generational and situational poverty.
Typically our DIRECT services involve emergency or crisis intervention for: housing and utility assistance, food insecurities,
minimal car repairs, medical and prescription assistance, as well as educational opportunities for improving individual
independence. Financial backing and support of GSN, including programming and events, is provided solely based on donations
and grants secured by GSN. Funding assistance and direct support is quickly dispensed through a client application process which involves client ownership/participation. GSN’s receipt of financial and in-kind donations - directly impacts our ability to
serve clients.
Similarly GSN has become the signature Holiday Assistance program in Hamilton County with basic holiday
provisions (Holiday food, clothing, toys, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve meals, etc.) available for countless
individuals and families. Besides our “red barrel” program, GSN also coordinates Holiday iSponsorship with various
agencies, organizations, individuals and churches who serve numerous Hamilton County families during the
Holidays.
GSN offers life skill training instances through a series of structured courses that provide at-risk individuals with the necessary
tools for developing specific and confident abilities, empowering them and their families for honest growth and development.
Just as importantly, these educational opportunities have the potential to enable them with likely transformation and allow them
to see the possibility of healthy steps toward life-change.
inDIRECT services, through the GSN Network, was established to ensure efficiency and communication among the different
groups who serve the needs of Hamilton County residents at-risk. GSN provides resources and support for critical human services
to network service providers making them stronger and more effective; with a goal of uniting for the common good rather than
duplicating efforts and competing for funding.
Additionally, we directly collaborate with Hamilton County schools to assist and support families and children in need.
GSN can only accomplish these acts of service through the volunteer contributions, extreme engagement and deliberate
participation of numerous agencies, churches, organizations and individuals. It is in the empowerment of serving by our
members, ministry partners, volunteers, and the entire community, that we are able to provide loving hope and help. Finally, we
believe we instill empowerment for transforming lives and equipping individuals in developing strong families, friends and
neighbors - as together we continue “Meeting People At Their Need!”

We assist clients with basic necessities such as
shelter assistance, utility assistance, prescription
medicine, burial assistance and food assistance.
The client will come into the office and fill out an
application. We have 72 hours to act on the case, if
needed we can pend for an additional 72 hours.
We do have a set of guidelines that has been
adopted by all the trustees in Hamilton County
that we go by. If we find that the client is in need
of assistance, we have them sign a purchase order
and at that point we mail that out to the vendor
for their signature and once that is received back
into our office, we then will submit a check to that
vendor. We do assign workfare hours to those who
are able body.
We do have a food pantry on site, so if someone is
in need of food, the only requirement we have, is
that they are a resident of Adams Township. We
do have them fill out a form and we require a
photo ID. We are a choice pantry we let the client
come into the pantry and we assist them in filling
their box. We are a small pantry but we make sure
the client likes what they are getting.
We also have a community building outside of
town that is available to rent for banquets,
meetings, weddings, birthday parties, family
reunions, open houses etc. It cost $75.00 to rent
plus a (+) $25.00 refundable deposit. It is located
on the Hamilton/Tipton county line in Adams
Township.
We provide assistance for utilities, rent/mortgage,
prescription, and Food. You would need to call the
office to set up an appointment for assistance. At
that point we will provide you with a check list of
items that you would need to bring with you to
your appointment. At the time of the appointment,
you will complete the application and then we
have 72 hours to make a decision. We do require
everyone over the age of 18 years old to sign the
application.

Director for Hamilton County also
APS works to link endangered and potentially
endangered adults with solutions to their daily
personal challenges. APS is charged with the
identification, investigation and correction of
neglect, self-neglect, abuse and exploitation in
Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks and Marion Counties.
APS also investigates and provides links to other
area services, charities and government agencies
to support the endangered or potentially
endangered while striving to maintain personal
independence and quality of life. While most
clients are senior citizens, the agency is charged
with providing services for citizens 18 and older
who are unable to provide for their own care or
who cannot appropriately direct someone else to
provide for their care and wellbeing.

Advocates for Children and Families Inc. Provides
programing support to networking of agencies
that serve children and families dealing with
abuse. The Cherish Center is the child advocacy
center program under Advocates for Children and
Families Inc. The Cherish Center is the first place a
family goes when there is any report or suspicion
of abuse, neglect, or victimization. We are a
strong, growing alliance of organizations that
come together as the first response team to bring
the safety of the law, governmental agencies,
health care, social services, and advocacy groups
to the child and family. We are the safe place
where children can tell of what harm has been
done to them so that the network can keep it from
happening again and to provide resources for
protection and healing. ALL CASES OF POTENTIAL
CHILD ABUSE MUST BE REPORTED TO THE
HOTLINE AT 1-800-800-5556. We are part of the
team that is gathered upon report to advocate for
the child and provide specially trained interviewers
to talk with the children and help the network of
child and community protection agencies do their
job to keep our children and families safe.
Advocates for Children and Families Inc. believes
that we can prevent abuse from happening by
educating children and adults about the realities
of what abuse is and how to put protective
measures in place to keep families safe. Become
An Upstander program provides community wide
prevention programs throughout Hamilton County
and surrounding counties in schools, day care, for
adults that work with children, churches, etc. We
serve over 15,000 children a year teaching
awareness and social norming to protect children
and families from bullying, dating violence,
internet violence and abuse, sexual abuse,
harassment, etc. We also are part of developing
community teams that work to help identify
potential risks in children that could put them in
harm’s way. Our prevention teams meet once a
month to create a network of resources to support
these children and families to give them the
strongest opportunity to thrive. Children who are
not thriving for any reason be it living conditions,
social issues, medical, are at higher risk of being
victimized. By putting in place a plan to help the
child and the family we believe we are making life
long impact in preventing opportunities for harm
in the future. Any agency or individual can access

so that services are provided at no cost to those in

Our clients need to reside in Hamilton County and
need to show two Id's - one a picture ID (ex:
drivers license) and a utility bill with their current
address. Clients can come once a month and will
receive enough food for 7 days, dinners, lunches,
breakfasts and snacks. Our clients will enter the
building and will be greeted by an advocate who
will help them complete the order forms and talk
with them personally about any other concerns. If
we know of other resources that will help them
that is provided to the client at that time. The food
that the client has requested is "picked"
downstairs and then sent up on our material lift. At
that time the client's name will be read and they
will drive their car to the side door and their order
will be loaded in.
Our pantry is open on Wednesdays from 1-7pm
and is closed on the 5th Wednesday if there is one
in the month. At times we are closed near Holidays
but our clients receive notification of that well in

provider. Private insurance may cover some
services, and a generous sliding fee scale ensures
that services are available to all, regardless of
ability to pay. We are governed by a volunteer

United Way of Central Indiana, government
contracts, private contributions, grants, client fees

wear and give them out every year on the first

The Hamilton County Society for the Disabled
loans durable medical equipment to the residents
of Hamilton County who have a temporary need.
Items include: wheelchairs, walkers, crutches,
canes, bathtub seats, shower seats, bedside
commodes, toilet seat risers, etc.
Items are loaned for up to 90 days. Items may be
renewed in most cases for another 90 days. If the
need is longer than six months then the borrower
will need to find their own equipment and return
ours for other people to borrow.
We accept donations of equipment that is in
good/clean condition.
An appointment is required in order for one of our
volunteers to meet the person in need of the
equipment or the person picking up the
equipment for the user. Appointments should be
arranged 2-3 days in advance of pick-up (Monday
- Friday between 9 and 3:30). We warehouse our
equipment on the west side of Noblesville. Exact

WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition
and health education, breastfeeding support,
healthy food and referrals to other services free of
charge to Indiana families who qualify.
Qualification is based on income eligibility and
nutritional/medical need. You may automatically
be income eligible if you or certain family
members participate in Medicaid, TANF(Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families) or SNAP(Food
Stamps). Proof of eligibility is needed.
Participants can be pregnant women, new moms
and infants, and children to age 5 years old. WIC
provides checks you take to the grocery to buy
healthy food. Examples of food provided: infant
formula, baby food, milk, cheese, cereal, peanut
butter, beans, eggs,( tuna or salmon for
breastfeeding mom's), 100% fruit juice, whole
grains and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Through the Healthy Families Hamilton County
program, support and encouragement is provided
to help new parents champion their families and
give babies a brighter beginning. By building
confidence, reducing stress and maximizing the
joys of becoming a new mother or father, Healthy
Families helps parents and children grow together.
Parenting is the most difficult and important job
anyone will ever have and all parents need support
and encouragement. Parents deserve a voice in
deciding what their needs are and what services
and programs will help them. Additional
information on child development, bonding,
discipline, health issues and community resources
is useful to all parents.
Babies begin learning at birth, and the first three
years are the most critical to their future
development. Parents need the most current
information on how babies grow, change and
develop. Participants in Healthy Families receive
free and voluntary home visits beginning
prenatally, or within 90 days after birth. A family
support worker (FSW) visits at least once a week
for up to one year to help establish support
systems, teach problem-solving skills and enhance
positive parent-child interaction. Once a family is
in the program, they can receive services for up to
three years. Healthy Families can also offer
information, education and referrals to community
resources. Through weekly contact, each Healthy
Families parent will learn about:

Capabilities Cafes are located at Janus and at the

Participants in the Capabilities Cafes learn
customer service, cash register operation, food
safety and food preparation. Participants also cater
the Janus Community Luncheons. The Community
Employment program provides assistance to
individuals with disabilities as they seek to obtain
a community job. Once a job is secured, job
coaches provide training and follow along services
as needed. The Doorways Program emphasizes
personal choice, individual talents, and diverse
opportunities. Doorways allow individuals with
disabilities to expand their unique abilities, explore
new interests and participate in as well as help
shape and influence their community.

Established in 1975 Meals on Wheels is a private,
charitable 501(c)(3) organization that supports
individuals who are elderly, disabled and
homebound by delivering nutritious meals,
reducing hunger, improving health and promoting
independence.
Our primary goal is to help our clients remain
living independently, within their own homes, for
as long a possible. Friendly volunteers
compassionately deliver meals in all eight
communities of Hamilton County. Nutritious meals
are delivered on a short-term or long-term basis,
five days a week, Monday through Friday, between
11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Meals are prepared in
state-approved healthcare facilities and designed
by a certified registered dietitian. Client™ specific
dietary needs and requirements are met as
prescribed by their physician.
Getting home-delivered meals is easy. Call (317)
776-7159 to apply. During a short phone
conversation we will provide program information
and complete the application. Requests for
services are accepted from a potential client, a
family member, a physician, healthcare providers
or other interested persons. Our office staff will
request a dietary script from a potential client™
primary physician. We will contact the client to
begin meal delivery generally within 24 hours of
receiving a dietary script from the physician.
Clients are asked to pay for the cost of their meals
and are invoiced at the beginning of each month
for all the meals delivered in the previous month.
Payments can also be made by third-parties on
behalf of a client. With financial support and
contributions, we are able to subsidize a portion or
all of the meal costs for eligible clients who need
assistance.

Prevail is the Victim Awareness and Support
Program for Hamilton and surrounding counties.
We are committed to offering services, free of
charge, in a confidential, supportive, nonjudgmental environment meant to empower,
educate and strengthen those we serve.
Crisis Intervention - Prevail's advocates are
available 24 hours a day, via our crisis line, to
provide support and on-site response to area
hospitals. The advocate is a neutral third party,
who can help explain what is happening and be
there for the victim and their family.
Adult Services: Domestic Violence - Prevail offers a
variety of services to women, and their children,
who have experienced or are living with domestic
violence, from one-on-one safety planning to
ongoing support groups. Sexual Assault - Dealing

with the aftermath of sexual assault is often a long
and emotional process for the victim and their
family. Prevail offers support groups to help
victims address feelings of isolation, guilt and
shame. Employment Services - Prevail's services
range from resume writing, job search and
placement, and job support for victims of crime
and abuse. Victim Notification Services - Prevail
educates crime victims about the criminal justice
system by creating a variety of educational
resources and offering access to knowledgeable
personnel.
Youth Services: Children - Prevail works to break
the cycle of violence by working with the next
generation. Services include safety planning and
support groups for children who have experienced
domestic violence or sexual assault. Sessions focus
on emotions, safety, and coping skills. Adolescents
- Prevail offers specific programs for teens who
live with or have experienced domestic violence or
sexual assault. These programs focus on safety,
self-esteem, and making healthy choices about
their future. Additionally, Prevail works with
schools to help educate teens about these
important issues.
Other Services: Court Support - Many victims of
crime are unsure of the court process, are not
notified of important aspects of their case and,
therefore, fail to participate in an event very
personal to them. Advocates are also available to
attend court with victims and directly support
them through the trial process. Victim Impact
Panel - More than one third of pedestrians killed
by automobiles were struck by impaired drivers.
People arrested in Hamilton County for driving a
car while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
are mandated to attend one of these sessions.
Panelists include individuals affected either directly
or indirectly by drunk driving who share their
experiences in hopes of deterring further alcohol
and/or drug incidents. Community Education and
Training - As an organization committed to
empowerment, education and the strengthening
of communities, Prevail seeks to create
opportunities for learning about victimization

vary sometimes music or a speaker and sometimes

Mission: St. Vincent de Paul Society secures and
provides food for needy families and offers
financial assistance to those living on fixed
incomes, elderly, unemployed, underemployed
and/or disability through generous donations and
revenue generated from the sale of donated
goods in the thrift store.
St. Vincent de Paul Society serves Hamilton
County. A referral is required from the township
trustee's office or any social service agency in
order for families to receive financial and other
assistance, such as in-kind giving of furniture,
appliances, household items and clothing. These
agencies conduct the screening process prior to
issuing a referral to St. Vincent de Paul Society for
assistance. However, no referral is required to
receive a non-perishable food box.
Assistance with rent, utility or medical prescription,
besides the referral form, requires a copy of the
lease, utility bill or medical prescription form.
Payments are issued and sent directly to the utility
company or the landlord. Medical prescriptions are
paid directly to the pharmacy.
Financial assistance for rent, utility or medical
prescription is provided once in a 12-month
period. Auto repair assistance may be provided
based on a case-by-case evaluation.
St. Vincent de Paul Society offers a food voucher
program which offers needy families a frozen meat
bundle (12-14 lbs of beef, chicken and pork). This

requires a referral form once a month in order to
receive the frozen meat bundle monthly.
Distribution of the meat bundles is done at Our
Lady of Grace Catholic Church located at 9900 East
191st Street in Noblesville, IN 46060, usually the
last Saturday of the month.

Families are responsible for picking up their frozen
meat bundle by showing a photo I.D. plus the
reminder slip provided to them when they sign up
for the meat bundle at SVdP. The distribution date
may be adjusted for the Thanksgiving and
Christmas holidays.
St. Vincent de Paul Society strives to work with the
township trustee's office, Community Action,
Salvation Army, Good Samaritan Network and
other agencies in Hamilton County to provide
assistance to those families in need in Hamilton
County.

The Lunch Club provides lunches and activities for
the children and adults in need of the Sheridan
Community
School District
that school is not in session. We are a Safe Place in
our community and try to help with needs of the
people of the Sheridan community. The only
qualification that is needed is that the people
reside with the Sheridan Community School
District. We serve nutritious meals from 11:30 am
to 1:00 pm each day that school is not in session.
The meals are served at The First United Methodist
Church in the basement and there is no cost or
other qualification. We try to help those who have
extended needs by trying to connect them with an
agency that can meet their needs.

MEETING PEOPLE AT THEIR NEED ... EMPOWERING PEOPLE IN THEIR LIVES!
The Good Samaritan Network was formed in March of 1995, evolving from a group of programs and services in existence since
early 1980.
Mission
The mission of Good Samaritan Network is to demonstrate the unconditional love of Christ by serving the physical,
financial and emotional needs of at-risk individuals and families in Hamilton County.
Vision
The vision of Good Samaritan Network is to position ourselves in the community with a suitable location and with strong
physical and financial resources - aligned to an effective organizational structure for the facilitation, collaboration, and
coordination of appropriate services to those residents of Hamilton County in need of physical, spiritual and emotional
support; who find themselves among the at-risk
people we serve.

We are specialists in creating and nourishing relationships with county residents and Network partners as collaboratively
we focus on serving the underserved and at-risk in situational scarcity. (see our detailed values listing)
GSN provides direct care when clients have nowhere else to turn, especially considering generational and situational poverty.
Typically our DIRECT services involve emergency or crisis intervention for: housing and utility assistance, food insecurities,
minimal car repairs, medical and prescription assistance, as well as educational opportunities for improving individual
independence. Financial backing and support of GSN, including programming and events, is provided solely based on donations
and grants secured by GSN. Funding assistance and direct support is quickly dispensed through a client application process which involves client ownership/participation. GSN’s receipt of financial and in-kind donations - directly impacts our ability to
serve clients.
Similarly GSN has become the signature Holiday Assistance program in Hamilton County with basic holiday
provisions (Holiday food, clothing, toys, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve meals, etc.) available for countless
individuals and families. Besides our “red barrel” program, GSN also coordinates Holiday iSponsorship with various
agencies, organizations, individuals and churches who serve numerous Hamilton County families during the
Holidays.
GSN offers life skill training instances through a series of structured courses that provide at-risk individuals with the necessary
tools for developing specific and confident abilities, empowering them and their families for honest growth and development.
Just as importantly, these educational opportunities have the potential to enable them with likely transformation and allow them
to see the possibility of healthy steps toward life-change.
inDIRECT services, through the GSN Network, was established to ensure efficiency and communication among the different
groups who serve the needs of Hamilton County residents at-risk. GSN provides resources and support for critical human services
to network service providers making them stronger and more effective; with a goal of uniting for the common good rather than

GSN can only accomplish these acts of service through the volunteer contributions, extreme engagement and deliberate

believe we instill empowerment for transforming lives and equipping individuals in developing strong families, friends and

Distribution of the meat bundles is done at Our
Lady of Grace Catholic Church located at 9900 East
191st Street in Noblesville, IN 46060, usually the
last Saturday of the month.

Families are responsible for picking up their frozen
meat bundle by showing a photo I.D. plus the
reminder slip provided to them when they sign up
for the meat bundle at SVdP. The distribution date
may be adjusted for the Thanksgiving and
Christmas holidays.
St. Vincent de Paul Society strives to work with the
township trustee's office, Community Action,
Salvation Army, Good Samaritan Network and
other agencies in Hamilton County to provide
assistance to those families in need in Hamilton
County.

The Lunch Club provides lunches and activities for
the children and adults in need of the Sheridan
Community
School District
that school is not in session. We are a Safe Place in
our community and try to help with needs of the
people of the Sheridan community. The only
qualification that is needed is that the people
reside with the Sheridan Community School
District. We serve nutritious meals from 11:30 am
to 1:00 pm each day that school is not in session.
The meals are served at The First United Methodist
Church in the basement and there is no cost or
other qualification. We try to help those who have
extended needs by trying to connect them with an
agency that can meet their needs.

United Way of Central Indiana helps people learn
