Moy Wind Farm
Eneco acquired the rights for the 20-turbine site in early 2013,
this was after the site had been granted planning consent
from Scottish Ministers in February 2012.
Eneco continued to work alongside Carbon Free Developments
Limited to increase the projects capacity from 50MW to
60MW – which was approved in January 2014.
Eneco is now planning the construction of the project and will
update you on the proposed schedule at today’s event.

Initial stages of the construction process (2014)
The first stage of the project is the delivery of the site cabins and construction equipment to the site.
On-site, borrow pits will be dug to excavate material for the construction of the wind farm roads.
In parallel, we will commence the construction of the wind farm site access from the B9154. Traffic
management arrangements are being finalised with The Highland Council and TEC Services (The Roads Authority).
How this may impact road users
It is our intention to keep disruption to a minimum, however some delays are anticipated. These include;
99 Slow moving heavy-goods lorries along the A9 and B9154 due to the transportation of construction machinery to the site. This is expected to be most
noticeable at the initial stages of construction
99 Increased traffic along the A9 and B9154 from the site access to the Leith Quarry. This is an ongoing process, as this material will be used to form the running
surface for 11km of internal roads on site. We anticipate that the roads, foundations and cabling will be complete by Spring 2015
What to expect in 2015
The turbine components will commence delivery in late July 2015. These components will be delivered to Inverness port and transported under police escort along
the A9 existing at the B9154 to the wind farm. Specific details on timing of the deliveries will be published on our website and we will make every effort to plan
deliveries out with peak traffic times.
Safety is our primary concern
99 Construction on site will comply with all statutory guidelines in place to ensure the safety of the workers and
members of the public.
99 All our contractors will be obliged to respect other road users and road surfaces will be kept clean and safe with
the use of road sweepers and/or wheel washes
99 The site will be manned 24/7
99 An Eneco representative will be available to speak to the public about any concerns you may have

How will the
community benefit?
Community Benefit Fund
Eneco has also committed to a community benefit fund of £4,500 per MW of
installed capacity annually throughout the lifetime of the project. Both Strathnairn

Local Contracts
It is our ambition to use local contractors wherever possible. Eneco has recently
tendered for the contract to carry out the civil and electrical works with a number

and local contractors included
in the tender process. We will be
Local Contracts announcing details of the successful contractor in the near future.
There will also be opportunities for local business and suppliers to feed into the
main contract through local sub-contracting and plant and material supply. This
was certainly the case at our Lochluichart Wind Farm and Extension project with
an estimated £3.5m investment in the local area.
Eneco UK projects
Eneco has a proven track record of delivering a lasting
legacy to those communities who live in close proximity
to its projects.
