To be judged on presentation and handling of the animal to the judge, neatness and appearance of the handler and the grooming, turnout, and overall condition of the animal. This class is intended to stimulate participation of the Amateur in the breeding division and does not limit that person to this class. Stallions are permitted. In the dressage division, individuals are only eligible to compete as amateurs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach age 22. Junior/Young Rider Handler- To be shown in hand by a Junior (14 to 18) or Young Rider (16 to 21.) To be judged on presentation and handling of the animal to the judge, neatness and appearance of the handler and the grooming, turnout, and overall condition of the animal. This class is intended to stimulate participation of the Juniors and Young Riders in the breeding division and does not limit that person to this class. No stallions or colts except weanlings. Horses receiving 77% or better in a qualifying class are automatically qualified for these in-hand championships, per USDF Breeders Championships Series Program rules B.12. Horses from a Series not hosting a Final may enter without re-qualifying in the North Central Series. A horse may qualify for competition in a USDF Breeders Series Final Materiale Championship class by receiving one score of 72.0% or higher in a materiale class held at any USEF licensed/USDF-recognized DSHB or Dressage competition during the relative competition year. All horses must have USDF Lifetime Horse Registration and owner(s) must be current USDF Participating or Business member. For the Materiale Championship Final (classes 2-3MF and 2-45 MF) the rider must have a current USDF Participating Membership (PM) at the time the horse’s qualifying score is earned and at the time of the finals class. At least two judges (one of whom is a licensed USEF R DSHB judge) will officiate in each Series Final class. Each judge will evaluate each entry independently. Scribes will be provided for each judge. Winners will be determined by the average of all judges’ scores. The highest scoring horses will be declared champions and the second highest reserve champions. Horses will be shown individually on the triangle at the walk and trot, and standing for conformation. Each horse will be evaluated in the same manner. Callbacks are permitted. Late entries are allowed for Championship Finals class(es) 2-CYFFM, 2-15BF, 2-17BF, 2-9BF, 2-10BF, 2-3MF, and 2-45MF without penalty. However, late fee will apply for late entry to Qualifying class on Saturday. Horses may qualify on Saturday for the finals on Sunday. For finals classes, Owner must be USDF Participating Member (include number) or Business Member (be sure correct Business Name is listed as Owner). Horse must have USDF Lifetime Horse Registration (include number). Show management shall collect, if necessary, sufficient Owner membership and/or USDF Lifetime Horse registration applications and fees prior to Championships Finals class. Verify Great American / USDF Breeders Championships Qualification Status with USDF Verify qualification status with USDF before submitting entry. Be sure that your qualifying scores have been accurately reported to and recorded by USDF. Check the USDF website Score Check. If necessary call the USDF office directly. Order of Go “Ride” times will be assigned and will become the posted order of go for each class. Time for Handler conflicts will be allowed for in this order of go. Handlers must inform the warm up steward of impending conflicts. Horses must check in with warm up steward before their time slot. Horses that have not checked in with the warm up steward prior to their posted order of go will be given a three-minute call. Horses not ready to show at the end of this three-minute call will be eliminated. Handlers who have multiple horses are requested to tell the warm up steward. Horses not complying with these stipulations may be eliminated, at discretion of Show Management. Owners with multiple horses in a single class must provide sufficient handlers for each entry so as to not delay the class. Turnout Bridles are optional on yearlings or younger, but mandatory on horses two years old and older. Braiding is optional. Foals must be in control of handler and may not be shown loose. Breed Registration Full breed registration documentation must be presented with entry. ATTENTION COMPETITORS Each competitor is responsible for supplying the secretary with the correct USEF and USDF numbers for horse, owner, handler (USDF membership not required), trainer and coach, before the day(s) of the competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not be counted towards national awards. The Kentucky Dressage Association is a nonprofit organization established to encourage participation and education in dressage. We sponsor competitions, clinics, symposiums and a newsletter with special consideration for our members. We have an extensive awards program, an incentive for horse and rider to compete and improve. Each KDA membership includes a group membership to the USDF, entitling member to USDF mailings, and other benefits. See www.USDF.org for more information. 5 Entry Information This prize list covers one show. Please make a single check payable to “Kentucky Dressage Association” and ensure that it includes ALL fees. Show entry must be received by the closing date and must include: 1) Appropriate fees. 2) A copy of USEF & USDF (if applicable) cards for owner. If adult amateur handler, USEF card must state Amateur. All horses entered in any USDFBC series qualifying class must have either a USDF Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR) or USDF Horse Identification Number (HID) and submit identification information. Handlers are not required to be USDF members and don’t need to pay the nonmember fee. Owners are not required to be USDF members for qualifying classes. Owners must pay the nonmember fee if not a member. Owners may be USDF Participating, Group, or Business members. Owner must have a current USDF Participating Membership (PM) or Business Membership (BM) for their horse to compete in the series finals class. 3) A clearly legible copy of negative Coggins dated within 12 months of last day of show date. 2016 foals MUST have a separate entry for Dam with the Dam’s Coggins. 4) Stabling requests - note names not a stable 5) All signatures (yes, on all lines!) Note: For entry purposes, “trainer” is defined as the adult on show grounds who will be responsible for horse. A parent signing for a minor is exempt from USEF nonmember fee. All must be adults or parent/guardian stated. 6) If your payment to KDA was returned for insufficient funds in the past, a certified check or money order is required for this year’s entry fee. 7) No entry will be processed without full payment. Membership/Nonmember/Proof of Membership fees: All participants (handler, owner, trainer, agent, lessee, or coach) must present to the competition secretary a current USEF membership card or copy thereof. In the event the participant does not have his/her card or copy, he/she must pay a $30 USEF show pass fee per show. No USDF membership is required for the handler. Owners are not required to be a USDF member for qualifying events but do need to pay the USDF nonmember fee; however, owner must have a current USDF Participating Membership (PM) or Business Membership (BM) for their horse to compete in the series finals class. Those who cannot provide proof of their USDF membership may fill out an affidavit form and must pay the $5 fee. The affidavit may also be used to verify horse registration and/or horse ownership. The USDF nonmember fee is $25 plus the $5 affidavit fee if a copy of the USDF member card can’t be provided. The Nonmember form/Affidavit form may be found on www.USDF.org. All horses entered in any USDFBC series qualifying class must have either a USDF Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR) or USDF Horse Identification Number (HID) and submit identification information. Non-competing Horses: Non-competing horses are welcome on a space-available basis. They must have an entry form with all release signatures, a current Coggins, and pay non-compete fee and office fee per show, and a stall fee (except for mare accompanying foal.) Noncompeting horses must wear a bridle/halter number when out of the stall. Send entries to Show Secretary, checks payable to KDA. Checks will be cashed upon receipt. Dishonored checks will require complete repayment in cash or money order prior to the show plus a service charge of $50.00. All entries using credit card for payment must use the online entry at www.eqentries.com A processing fee of 5% will be added for entering online. ALL competitors must pay all outstanding fees before receiving their show packets. The organizing committee reserves the right to limit entries, to add or divide classes, to add or substitute judges, and to make any changes required by the circumstances. Show Management reserves the right to refuse or require withdrawal of an entry for cause deemed sufficient by Show Management. All entries accepted on first come first served basis based on postmark or fax date. PLEASE MAIL ENTRIES WITHOUT A SIGNATURE NEEDED!! CERTIFIED, REGISTERED, OR EXPRESS MAIL WITH A SIGNATURE NECESSARY FOR RECEIPT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!! E-mailed entries will not be accepted. Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted if schedule permits. Late entries must include all fees, negative Coggins, proof of USEF membership (or pay nonmember fee) and must be completed by noon the day before start of class. The fee to enter late is the normal entry fees plus the late fee of $50. Late Entries, if accepted, will not be included in the program. Refunds: Before closing date – Full refund less office fee and $50 cancellation fee. On or after closing date – NO REFUND with the exception of fees collected on behalf of USEF (drug fees). These fees will be mailed within one month after the end of the competition for entries that were cancelled. Before the show, please contact the show secretary if you are not coming. Once you are at the show, please notify the show office if you are scratching a class. A no show is defined as a scratch for the entire show. Please do not be a ‘NO SHOW’. 6 General Information Times: Provisional times will be available to competitors at www.foxvillage.com Official times will be available at noon the day before the show. Please double check your times upon check in. Start times are a “guesstimate” and for reference only. Listen for announcements of actual times. Breed classes may be up to 60 minutes ahead or behind posted times. Schedule: Classes may not necessarily be run in the order listed in the class lists. It is the responsibility of the handler to inform the show secretary of any time conflicts as soon as possible after receiving the schedule. Management reserves the right to change officials, limit entries, combine or cancel classes, modify the schedule, and to modify or cancel awards and/or make whatever changes are required by circumstances to the competition specifications listed herein. Show Management reserves the right to cancel classes insufficiently filled and to refuse or require withdrawal of an entry for cause deemed sufficient by Show Management. Hazardous Weather/Act of God/Accident Policy: Management reserves the right to cancel any class due to hazardous weather, Act of God or Accident. Every effort will be made to reschedule with priority given to Great American\USDF qualifying classes being offered. No refund for cancellations due to this policy. Stabling: Stabling assignments will be available to competitors at www.kentuckydressageassociation.com 10 x 10 stalls with clay base and sliding doors with bars on top. Early arrivals must notify the show secretary and pay all appropriate early arrival stall fees. See fee schedule above. Stalls will be secured. If your stall security is broken prior to your paid arrival date, you will be charged an early arrival stall fee of $40 per day. Security: Security will be on grounds from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Security will be responsible for general surveillance of horses and grounds, but will not include feeding and watering of horses. Pony Measurements: Any pony being shown in a pony restricted class must possess a USEF Dressage Pony Measurement Card. A pony measurement is required for any horse under 8 years old which does not have a permanent pony measurement card. For ponies under the age of three, there must be evidence that the sire and/or dam are either registered with a pony breed or have USEF Pony Measurement Cards. Owners must notify management of any ponies needing a measurement so management can schedule the veterinarian accordingly for this service. Management will prorate the fee charged by the veterinarian among the pony owners. This fee will only be the actual charge by the veterinarian and will not exceed $100 per pony. Pony measurement will take place on Friday 4 p.m. If another time is required, arrangements must be made with management, TD, and veterinarian. Owners must have USEF membership at the time of measurement. Ponies must have a USEF recording or HID #. Bridle/Halter numbers must be worn at all times on the show grounds. This includes non-competing horses. Show office will open at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 16th. 7 AWARDS & PRIZES Awards: First place prizes. Ribbons first through sixth place for each class. When classes are posted, you may pick up your ribbons. Management reserves the right to make any changes required by circumstances. Champion and reserve neck sashes will be awarded for USDFBC qualifying classes. Upon request, ribbons not picked up by the end of the show will be mailed to the winners at their expense. Ribbons first through eighth are sponsored by The Jockey Club for both Thoroughbred IBC classes. Breed Awards: High score awards are available from the following breed registries for Saturday only: American Saddlebred American Haflinger Danish Warmblood FHANA IALHA KWPN- NA NADWA ISR Oldenburg NA Oldenburg GOV RPSI SWANA Trakehner A prize will be awarded to the AHS-Hanoverian winner of the IBC Saturday. To be eligible for Breed Awards, the horse must be registered and the owner must be a member of the respective registry. The Breed Awards Form must be submitted with breed papers attached and sent to Chelsea Smith for pre-verification. See breed award page near the end of the prize list for more information. Great American/USDFBC Qualifier Classes (Saturday): Champion and reserve are eligible for Great American/USDF Breeders Championship North Central Series Final. North Central Series Qualifier sashes will be awarded. Great American/USDFBC Finals Classes (Sunday): Champion will receive a neck sash, cooler, and plaque. Reserve champion will receive a neck sash and plaque. Ribbons for places 3 through 6. Ceremony will be at the end of each class. Wine and Cheese Party Saturday after the last class. Please plan to join the fun! 8 IN-HAND TRIANGLE PROCEDURE In-hand classes will perform individually on the triangle measuring approximately 30 meters on each side, and 15 meters from B-C, or sized, if judge specifies, as described in USEF DR209. When called by the Ringmaster, follow the procedure as diagramed: Stand horse at A for conformation judging Walk small triangle: A - B - C - A Trot large triangle A - D - E - A Leave judging area promptly unless requested otherwise by judges. Definitions Handler: Any person who holds, walks, or trots a horse while it is being judge in the competition arena for any In-Hand, Group, or Championship class. Handlers may have one Assistant Handler, if necessary. The Handler, Assistant Handler, and/or a whip assistant may each carry only one whip or one standard lungeing whip (without attachments, i.e. plastic bags, etc.) In addition, disruptive noisemaking devices are not permitted in the competition ring or warm-up areas. Prior to entering the competition arena, all Handlers and Assistant Handlers must have on file in the show secretary’s office a Handler/Assistant Release Form and be wearing an appropriate wrist band. Handlers must be USEF members or pay the show pass fee. Assistant Handler: Any person, other than the Handler, who holds or walks a horse in the competition arena during a class, whether or not it is being judged. An Assistant Handler is permitted only for call-backs after InHand or Group classes, for Championships, and for handling non-competition mares and foals that accompany another entry in the competition arena. Assistant Handlers may not show a horse at the trot, (except for horses not being judged but accompanying a mare or foal this is being judged.) Only Handlers and Assistant Handlers may act as Whip Assistants. Assistant Handlers are not required to be USEF members or pay the show pass fee but are subject to all other rules regarding Handlers. Class Procedure All competitors are responsible for understanding and complying with the current USEF Dressage/Sport Horse Breeding rules (Sub-Chapter DR-2.) Any horse entering the arena, whether being judged or not, must be controlled by a separate handler or assistant handler. NO HORSE, INCLUDING FOALS, MAY BE SHOWN LOOSE. ONE HORSE, ONE HANDLER AT ALL TIMES. In classes with 20 or more entries, the horses with the top scores may be recalled as a group for reevaluation. Championship Class Procedure-Horses will be shown at the walk as a group and individually at the trot. 9 DR206.6 Handlers, assistant handlers and whip assistants of any age must wear protective headgear as defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with GR801 while handling or assisting in the competition ring. Any handler or assistant violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further participation until such headgear is properly in place. Protective headgear is defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness must be secured and properly fitted. BOD 9/29/15 Effective 12/1/15 Management reserves the right to cancel any classes due to hazardous weather, Acts of God, accident, or emergency. Every effort will be made to reschedule with priority given to any Championship or qualifying classes being offered. No refunds for cancellations due to hazardous weather, Acts of God, accidents, or emergencies. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the show management whose decision shall be final. Every horse entered for competition will comply with the rules of the horse show management, but management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold this horse show and the officials and employees of the show blameless for any loss or accident to his horse, employees, equipment, which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise. The management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit entries and cancel award prizes without claims for damages; to cancel or combine unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or rotate judges. Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials, on the part of the owner, manager, rider, or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry fee and other fees. Show management reserves to itself the power to prohibit any person from attending or showing a horse in the ring and to remove any groom or horse from the show without being liable for compensation. No person will be allowed in the show ring during the time of judging except the exhibitor and those having official or requested duties to perform. It is the tradition of the show that riders be correctly attired for the class in question, that attendants be neatly dressed and the horses properly presented. Phone: (800) 633-2472 USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT DR901.9 Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. MOTORIZED VEHICLE RULE- In accordance with GR1301.7: Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. Sharps Containers: Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition, whether or not stabling is provided. Additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments in convenient locations in barns housing competition horses. It is competition management’s responsibility to replace such containers when full and dispose of them properly. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. If local law has different requirements, local law will prevail. GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule 1. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methods mentioned below. The frequency of vaccine administration should be per the vaccine manufacturers’ or veterinarian’s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines are administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. 2. In the case of vaccines administered by a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide documentation from the veterinarian on documenting that the horse in question received the vaccinations; name of the vaccines and date of vaccine administration. 3. In the case of vaccines administered by a person other than a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a receipt of the vaccine purchase which is signed by the owner, or agent with care, custody, and control of the horse; name, serial number and expiration date of the vaccine; and date of vaccine administration. 4. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccinations due to a history of adverse reactions, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a letter from the veterinarian on official letterhead stating that the horse in question cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns and a log of temperatures taken twice daily for the seven days prior to entering the competition grounds. These horses must also have their temperature taken and logged twice daily while on the competition grounds. The log of temperatures should be provided to the Competition Management, steward, or technical delegate when requested. 5. Competition Management may not amend or enhance vaccination requirements without prior approval of the Veterinary Committee. BOD 1/17/15 Effective 12/1/15. ALL THREE boxes on the back of your entry form should be signed. The Trainer Box should be signed by the adult responsible for the horse on the show grounds. For JR/YR, this should be the parent’s signature (or the accompanying adult). A LEGIBLE copy of a current Coggins dated within 12 months of the last date of the show must be included. The name on the Coggins MUST match the horse’s show name or a notarized letter from the vet must accompany the Coggins. Current USEF/USDF cards must be included with entry. To be registered in Adult Amateur classes, your card must note your amateur status. Both handler and owner must be a member of USEF. Handlers and owners are not required to have USDF memberships for qualifier classes. However, owners must pay the USDF nonmember fee if not a member. Owner must have a current USDF Participating Membership (PM) or Business Membership (BM) for their horse to compete in the series final class on Sunday. Horse’s USDF registration must be included.
