Nowadays, It is very important to make sure that the decisions taken in regards of Human
health and Natural resources are accurate and precise, but the most important is to find,
collect and gather the up-to- data from its different sources to generate the best and most
accurate decisions; specially when they are related to managing the natural resources
available in the country like Water, Air, Soil and Human-affecting activates like, reservoirs of
drinking Water, disinfectants and cosmetics, management of industrial dams and fruits,
vegetables watering water in addition to the domestic sewage water, and many others.
From here, the idea of building the Environmental Data Bank System (EDBS) came into
reality. The system enables the integration of various types of information from different
sources into a large databank, and then manages the data to produce statistics and
real-time reports on the current situation of the natural resources in the country.

The Assessment of the existing water resources and ensure their
compliance with the standard specifications and standards.
The determination of the measures of drinking water and wastewater
treatment and domestic water from home and industrial uses in addition
to all other types of water.
The Documentation of changes on the quality of water from water bodies
of different sites and defined correctly in order to compare them and then
match the quality with different standards and specifications.
Identify sources of water, which can be considered a source of potential
water pollution in the country.
Follow-up changes that occurs on the quality of water sources over time.

sources and store it as files.
The management of the Water source site through its location on the
map. This enables the user to monitor the coordinates of the locations of
water stations in the various positions and through the use of Google Maps
with navigation and give a brief description of each site and provide annual

Success Stories
Currently the database contains the results of testing different types of water samples, which
include drinking water from reservoirs, pumping stations, treatment plants, domestic and
industrial sewage plants, dams and other water sources. The results formulate about 320
different types of variables (physical tests, chemical (organic and inorganic), biological) for
610 different location in Jordan, and about 257100 of the outcome variables read 13,000 visit
different over the years. The system also helped in the creation of a huge database containing
the available data for all sites and this database has been supervised by the energy,
environment and water complex in the Royal Scientific Society since 1984, the specialist has
been entering all the necessary data to the system directly since 2000, and it is updated
annually as needed to contain the latest.










 

