The LIPNO CARD is a guest card which enables you to fully
enjoy your holiday within the Lipno area and to find out the
main attractions of this region. LIPNO CARD saves you time and

The exquisite combination of extensive water area and the beautiful landscape of
Šumava mountains with hundreds of kilometres of cycling paths, tourist and in-line
paths, cross-country tracks and ski slopes together with the unforgettable atmosphere
of the town of Český Krumlov made the Lipno area one of the most popular destinations
visited by local and foreign tourists. The places sought by tourists are especially those
in the National Park and Protected Landscape Area of Šumava. The advantage of this
area is also demonstrated by the comfort provided by the developed tourist destinations
situated on both banks of Lipno Lake. Thanks to the development and extension of the
offer regarding additional services, the Lipno area thus became a destination which
can welcome its visitors throughout the year regardless of weather conditions. In the
summer you can enjoy a large number of sports activities, cultural and social events
and you can benefit from ideal conditions for relaxation. In the spring and autumn
season the Lipno area is the best place for giving you energy. You can do hiking,
cycling, yachting or fishing. The winter season is popular for those who like skiing or
snowboarding on perfectly maintained ski slopes, you can also choose from the neverending offer of cross-country tracks or go hiking on snow-shoes admiring the landscape
of Šumava, or just have fun and go skating on frozen Lipno Lake.
Surely we can’t forget to invite you to the town of Český Krumlov, whose atmosphere is
emphasized by oblique streets, various corners and a unique complex of town-houses
with a domineering castle erected above the meander of the river Vltava. The cultural
life is enriched by exhibitions of different artists, by concerts, music festivals, theatrical
performances, and a large number of pubs, cafés, medieval taverns and several night
clubs.

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE LIPNO TOWNS
AND VILLAGES CLUSTER
The cluster of Lipno towns and villages
is a voluntary non-political organisation
which regroups towns and villages situated
in the surroundings of Lipno Reservoir and
the upper stream of river Vltava.
Černá v Pošumaví
The village of Černá v Pošumaví with its five
settlements and an average of 820 inhabitants
became gradually the natural centre of the
Lipno area. The largest banks of the reservoir
can be found right there so it is not surprising
that this place offers ideal conditions for sports
activities, especially for yachting, windsurfing
and kiteboarding. Every year the local yacht club
organises several competitions at the local and international level. The accessibility
as for the transport connection is very good because this place is a crossroad among
Český Krumlov, Volary and Vyšší Brod. Tourism plays a very important part for the
village. Well-trained employees of the information centre can provide a good-quality
service to every visitor. In the territory of the village there are five locations for
car-camping and a large number of restaurants and accommodation facilities. The
network of cycling paths, six of which pass through Černá v Pošumaví, is built within
the whole Lipno area and its importance for tourism is crucial.
Frymburk
This picturesque South Bohemian town of
Frymburk spreads at the foothills of Šumava at the
altitude of 730 above the sea level. It is a unique
town thanks to its exquisite location extending on
the peninsula situated on the left bank of Lipno
Reservoir which means that the town is largely
surrounded by the waters of the „Šumava Sea“ and
at the same time is located in the proximity of the Austrian borders. You can pass
the state border through the border crossing Guglwald/ Přední Výtoň 10 km far from
Frymburk. This town was originally founded as a merchant village at the end of the
13th century and was situated on the trading path leading from Upper Austria to
Český Krumlov. However pre-historical findings prove that the location was settled

from 8 to 10 thousand years B.C. The status of town was attributed to Frymburk in
1379 and the town brewery was established in 16th century.
Horní Planá
The town of Horní Planá, with more than 2,200
inhabitants, spreads in South Bohemia at the
foothills of Šumava on the left bank of Lipno Lake at
an altitude of 726 – 914 m. Virgin nature, a beautiful
lake and a large variety of breathtaking views at
landscape and picturesque creeks make the place
absolutely irresistible for tourists who can stay
in hotels, pensions, family accommodation, chalets and apartments with the total
capacity of 2,400 beds. For those who prefer camping, the area offers several camp
sites. Czech and European cuisine is served in local pubs and restaurants. The area
benefits from excellent traffic accessibility (by car, train or by bus). Town visitors can
park their cars right on the square or at the car park with 500 parking places situated
100 m far from the town’s beach. The surroundings of the town can be proud of the
extent network of tourist and cycling paths. The town’s history reaches the year 1349
when the original settlement became thanks to the Czech king Charles IV a markettown.
During summer months it is possible to take advantage of the transport system
“Cyklotrans” (transport of cyclists with their bicycles in several routes from České
Budějovice up to Kvilda) or special carriages of ČD (Czech Railways) transporting
bicycles. In the winter the cross-country tracks are well maintained. But the unforgettable
experience is definitely provided by skating on the frozen lake. In the proximity of the
town you can find well accessible ski areas Lipno nad Vltavou and Hochficht.
Hořice na Šumavě
The village of Hořice na Šumavě is situated at the
altitude of 620 m above the sea level and higher
and higher up at the border of the Protected
Landscape Area of Šumava. Archaeological
findings witness that the area was settled in the
times 1400 B.C. However the history of the village
starts from the second half of the 13th century. The
first written mention about Hořice comes from 1272. Recently the village is inhabited
by 810 citizens. Hořice na Šumavě is listed as a town monumental zone with 27
protected monuments (church, town-houses on the square, a system of 7 fountains
and a pillory). Since 1816 Hořice has been famous for its traditional Passion play. If
you want to find more information about the history of this village and the Passion
play of Hořice, you should visit the museum situated on the square or have a stroll on
the nature path.
Ktiš
The village of Ktiš can be found at the foothills
of Šumava. About 500 inhabitants live in this
village and its settlements are situated at an
altitude of 762 m above sea level. The life of the
village is positively influenced by the activities of
voluntary associations and organisations, such
as the Volunteer Firemen Corps, Game-keeper
association “Vilém”, Model Boat Club and also the local Sports club together with
the Historical circle ”Bartoloměj”. The landscape in the surroundings of this village
features by beautiful forests, downy lands and a large number of original small water
courses. The former settlement was founded before 1369 in the location of the farm
belonging to the Monastery of Zlatá Koruna.

Lipno nad Vltavou
The village of Lipno nad Vltavou has recently
literally become a paradise for a relaxing family
holiday throughout the year. This tourist centre
situated in the middle of beautiful nature of
Šumava mountains offers an incredible choice of
leisure time activities in the summer but also in the
winter, peaceful environment and perfect comfort.
All services including accommodation and leisure time activities are concentrated in
one place within few kilometres. This location is ideal for a relaxing family holiday,
school trips or company events. Quieter spring and autumn season is an ideal time
especially for seniors. The history of the village goes to the 16th century with a first
written mention dating 1530. Nowadays, the village is spread by the dam of Lipno
Reservoir but in the past it was situated in the Valley of the river Vltava. The original
settlement belonged to the domain of Vyšší Brod and, together with the surrounding
settlements, represented a small village known for timber industry because the main
living of its inhabitants was timber rafting on the river Vltava.
Loučovice
Loučovice is a village with approximately
1900 inhabitants and is situated on the river
Vltava about 3 km below Lipno Reservoir at an
altitude of 690 m above the sea level, in the close
proximity with the state border with Austria. The
first written mention about the village comes
originates from 1361 describing Loučovice as
a vassal village belonging to the Monastery of Vyšší Brod. In the surroundings of the
village interesting locations for tourists can be found. Among the most interesting
is surely Lipno – the dam reservoir, about 3 km far from Loučovice. Right within the
territory we can find protected areas such as the Natural park “Vyšebrodsko”, Natural
monument “Medvědí hora”, a bog formation called “Kapličky”, Natural monument
called “Uhlířský vrch” and the National natural reserve “Čertova stěna” and “Luč”.
Nová Pec
Nová Pec, a former settlement known for timber
industry which history is closely related to timber
harvesting and its treatment, today a recreational
village, is situated at an altitude of 750 m above
the sea level. About 600 inhabitants live in seven
settlements. In the surrounding of the village we
can find many historical and tourist places of
interests. That is why this area attracts many visitors. Among remarkable historical
monuments we can namely precise the Church of St. Anne, a cultural monument
with an old German cemetery situated in the settlement called Pěkná and the
unique technical monument which is represented by the Schwarzenberk Navigation
Channel, a unique hydro engineering structure of the European importance
connecting basins of the rivers Vltava and Danube.
Přední Výtoň
The first references about the origin of this
settlement are linked to the year 1357, when the
Order of Saint Paul established a monastery, lately
converted to the church which hasn’t changed
its feature and appearance since. Settlers from
South Tyrol came to this original settlement and
started their difficult battle against the wild nature
of Šumava in order to gain agricultural land. Until 1945 the area was inhabited by
approximately 1,200 people, formed mostly by Germans, who were expatriated
after the Second World War and their villages completely razed to the ground. The
settlement was repopulated by the citizens of different nationality. The present area

consists of the following settlements Svatý Tomáš, Frýdava and Pasečná and almost
all its territory is situated in the Protected Landscape Area of Šumava. Regarding
the fact that some parts of these settlements were completely uninhabited and
inaccessible until 1989, the nature remained practically untouched by civilisation.
At this moment Přední Výtoň has become an important tourist holiday centre, the
accommodation capacity has increased as well as a number of different restaurants
and other places where you can by refreshments which will content a large number of
visitors. There are about 200 inhabitants permanently residing in this settlement but
during the winter and summer season the place revives by hundreds of tourists. Přední
Výtoň is a starting point for ramblers and cyclists going to the settlement called Svatý
Tomáš where you can find a ruin of the former guard castle “Vítkův Kámen” (1053 m
above the sea level) with a platform offering the best view of the countryside.
Stožec
Almost 210 inhabitants live in three settlements
of the administrative territory of Stožec with an
area of 10 500 ha. In Stožec you can find one
elementary and maternity school, a shop and
a post office. A large number of pensions, two
hotels and private accommodation operate in
Stožec, České Žleby, Dobrá, Černý Kříž and in
Nové Údolí throughout the year. Stožec is the biggest municipality situated in the
south part of the National Park and the Protected Landscape Area of Šumava.
The municipality has been known since 1769 when it was founded in the setting
of a former settlement established in the 16th century for timber harvesting. Later
the place became an important centre of timbre manufacturing using spruce trees
growing abundantly in the surrounding forests.
The municipality is a starting point for hiking and cycling tours. You can find here
many kilometres of different paths leading throughout the nature of Šumava which
will take you to a large number of attractive places located in this unique part of the
Czech Republic. You can also try the longest in-line course in Bohemia – 16 km of
track, the „Vltava route“, leading from Stožec to Nová Pec.
Vyšší Brod
Vyšší Brod, the southernmost town in the Czech
Republic, is situated approximately 4 km from
the borders with Austria, right in the centre of
the natural park called “Vyšebrodsko”, which is
an extensive area spreading between the right
river bank of and the state border from Horní
Dvořiště to Přední Výtoň. The history of the town
goes back to the beginning of the 13th century when the town was established
as a market place on one of the oldest trade path. This path was leading through
Vyšší Brod pass from Danube to Bohemia in the Roman times. However the first
written record appeared in the deed of donation from the 1st July 1259 of Sir Vok of
Rožmberk, the founder of the Vyšší Brod monastery. In this deed he donated to the
monastery a large territory consisting of only one settlement at that time which
was the market place of Vyšší Brod. The Vyšší Brod monastery belonging to the
Cistercians, became a spiritual centre for the whole dominium of the Rožmberks.
The sovereigns of this most important noble family in Bohemia also established
in the abbey the place of their last rest. Thanks to its special beauty and the
unique cultural importance, the monastery is today listed as a national cultural
monument. During the guided tour you can see the fascinating premises of the
Gothic architecture. Cyclists can also enjoy the country because of the important
Šumava artery leading through the town and thanks to the newly opened border
crossing which enable you to go for a bike ride along the breathtaking Austrian
borderland. Vyšší Brod and its fantastic location in the middle of forests and the
proximity of the river Vltava and Lipno Reservoir offer you a large number of sports
and recreational activities throughout the year.

cycling. We offer you a family downhill course for beginners and children from
8 years. A downhill sport course is aimed at intermediate bikers. A new Biker
Cross-country course – a very attractive course with a large number of quick
successive jumps is designed for advanced bikers. At Lipno Bike Rent we are
able to provide you with bikes of the brand “Specialized”, fully spring-loaded
special bikes, including guards and helmets. Our Lipno Bike School offers
special courses with an experienced guide who will teach you the correct
riding technique in the Bike Park. The courses include the rental of equipment,
a pass for the chair lift and the guide.

Welcome to the Lipno Rope Park where you can have fun with your family or
friends. You will experience an unforgettable adventure on the rope barriers
with an amazing view of Lipno Lake. The Rope Park offers more than 500 m of
adventure on different rope barriers. Your children can have fun in the children’s

circle: a speciality for those who like adrenaline sports is a 150 m long Fly slip
on a pulley which really worth trying. In case you come to the Rope Park for
the first time and you don’t feel at ease, do not hesitate to ask our experienced
instructors for help and then let’s go for it.

In order to make the summer season more comfortable for our visitors we
provide for you our chair lift. The aim of its operation is to get tourists and
cyclists closer to their designed touring and cycling paths. Tourists will be
certainly pleased that the transport of bikes, pushchairs and dogs is for free.
From the peak of Kramolín you can enjoy a beautiful view of Novohradské
Mountains.

The surroundings of Lipno, with the natural beauty of the Šumava mountains
are laced with dozens of kilometres of cycling paths which are now opened for
our disabled visitors thanks to the project called “Lipno without barriers”. For
the bike rides on the popular “Jezerní path” leading from Lipno nad Vltavou
to Frymburk, disabled people can enjoy their trip with their friends or ride on
a tandem bike. Hand bikes especially adapted for people in a wheel chair are
also available in our offer.

focused on walking on the rope (called slack-line) and running with resistance
utilizing the bungee rope. During the first discipline, children test the work with
gravity centre of their body in the height of several dozens of centimetres above
the ground. During the second one, they learn how to work with climbing
equipment – to tie the most frequently used knots, putting on the seating device
and basic knowledge of securing techniques. Children can spend the next day
in the rope centre. Here they can put into practice the knowledge acquired the
previous days. Suitable for children with the height more than 130 cm.
Summer course – sailing boat: 2-day-course, 3 hours daily. Sailing is an
extraordinary experience, even more intensive when you become the boat
captain. The content of the course is to learn the basic rules of sailing and
safety on water. All participants will get involved into the preparation of the
sailing boat for sailing and they test sailing from the port, stretching sails,
catching the wind and manoeuvring. Suitable for children older than 10 years.

Nové Hrady Castle

GENERAL CONTRACTUAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF LIPNO CARD SYSTEM
I. Basic Provisions
1.1 The General Contractual Terms and Conditions of LIPNO CARD
system (hereinafter referred to as „Terms and Conditions“)
regulate the rights and duties of the Card Holder while drawing
the services of Acceptance Point under the advantageous
conditions stated in the Manual and Information Portal and
moreover the mutual rights and duties of the Operator and Card
Holder while manipulating with the Card and administrating
LIPNO CARD system.
1.2 The contractual relationship being the subject of these Terms
and Conditions comes into being between the Operator and
Card Holder in the moment of the Card takeover by the Card
Holder in the Selling Point.
1.3 The Operator is LIPENSKO s.r.o., CRN: 28136420, Tax RN:
CZ28136420, with registered office: Lipno nad Vltavou 307, Zip
Code 382 78, registered in the Trade Register of the Regional
Court in České Budějovice in Part C, file 19521, which operates
and administers the LIPNO CARD system.
1.4 The Card Holder is a natural person to whom the Card was
issued by the Operator directly or through the Selling Point and
the data of whom are put down in the Card.
1.5 For the purpose of this Contract the below mentioned concepts
shall have the following meaning:
LIPNO CARD system is marketing system consisting in generating
advantageous conditions for drawing the services of Acceptance
Points for Card Holders;
Card is a discount mean with the unique number and bar code
of the usual payment card size with which the right of the Card
Holder is connected to draw the services of Acceptance Points with
advantages described in the Manual and in the Information Portal;
Selling Point is the accommodation provider or another subject
involved into the LIPNO CARD system stated in the Manual or in
the Information Portal, which is authorised based on the contract
with the Operator as representative of the Operator to offer and
to issue the Card to accommodated guests or to other interested
persons;
Acceptance Point is the subject involved into the LIPNO CARD
system stated in the Manual or in the Information Portal, obliged
based on the contract with the Operator to provide its services to
the Card Holder with the advantages described in the Manual or in
the Information Portal;
Manual is information brochure issued by the Operator containing
the basic information about the territory in which the LIPNO
CARD system is operated including the map of the territory with
marking the main tourist targets, Acceptance and Selling Points,
information about LIPNO CARD system, conditions and way of

drawing advantages of the Card Holder, services of individual
Acceptance Points as well as the text of these Conditions;
Information Portal are special web pages of LIPNO CARD www.
lipnocard.cz system administered by the Operator and containing
similar data as Manual which are moreover updated continually.
II. Rights and Duties of Card Holder
2.1 Every Card Holder who presents the Card while negotiating
about providing a service in the Acceptance Point or during
the payment for provided services to the Acceptance Point has
the right to draw the service of the Acceptance Point under
advantageous conditions stated in the Manual or Information
Portal.
2.2 The Card Holder takes into account that the Card is not
transferable and the rights connected with it appertain
exclusively to the Card Holder. The Card Holder is obliged to
desist from any acting the purpose of which is evading the
principle of the non-transferability of the Card such as copying
the Card, changing the Card or doing other interventions into
the Card integrity.
2.3 The Card Holder is obliged to keep the Card in the way
preventing its loss, damage, destruction or theft. Each loss,
function damage, destruction or theft of the Card shall be
announced by the Card Holder to the Operator without undue
delay.
2.4 The Card Holder is obliged to utilize the Card only for the
purposes for which it is determined according to these Terms
and Conditions.
2.5 While drawing the services of the Acceptance Point the Holder
is obliged, upon request of the Acceptance Point or of the
Operator to prove his identity by submitting a valid official
identity card as personal identity card, passport or another
official document based on which it is possible to find out the
identity, otherwise the drawing of service with advantage may
be rejected by the Acceptance Point.
III. Legal relations during drawing services
3.1 Legal relationship during service providing and drawing
comes into being exclusively between the Acceptance Point
and the Card Holder. The Operator does not accept any
liability or guarantee for the quality or proper fulfilment of the
commitment of the Acceptance Point towards the Card Holder
and also not for observing the conditions of advantageous
providing the service based on the promise of the Acceptance
Point stated in the Manual or in the Information Portal.
3.2 The Card Holder takes into account that in the time between
the issue of the Manual and the moment of drawing the service
of the Acceptance Point by the Card Holder, a change in the

list of the Acceptance Points or temporary interruption of
providing their services or changes in conditions of providing
advantages may take place. Topical information concerning the
list of Acceptance Points as well as functionality of LIPNO CARD
system is published by the Operator in the Information Portal.
3.3 Adding a new Acceptance Point to the LIPNO CARD system or
deleting an Acceptance Point from the LIPNO CARD system
in the time after accepting the Card by the Card Holder has no
influence on the paid Card price.
IV. Blocking the Card, issue of the Card duplicate or
a new Card
4.1 The Operator is authorised to block the Card if
a) The Card Holder commits the prohibited act described in the
section 2.2,
b) The Card Holder breaches the duty stated in the section 2.4 and
causes in this way the damage to the Operator or third persons,
c) The Operator finds out that the Card was lost, destroyed or
stolen or its function impaired,
d) during drawing the services the card will be submitted to the
Acceptance Point by the person who rejects to prove its identity
or the identity of whom does not correspond to the Card Holder
identity or
e) The time of effectiveness of the Card elapsed.
4.2 Card blocking is a temporary or permanent elimination of the
active functions of the Card within LIPNO CARD System. The
holder of the blocked Card is obliged to return the Card without
undue delay to the Operator, if this is not excluded in view of
the reason of Card blocking.
4.3 In case of blocking the Card pursuant section 4.1 lit. a), b) or d)
the contractual relationship between the Operator and Card
Holder regulated by these conditions is cancelled. The Card
Holder has in case of such cancellation no right to return of the
paid Card price or to other compensations.
4.4 In case of blocking the Card pursuant the section 4.1 lit . c)
the Operator shall issue to the Card Holder the Card duplicate
upon request, if the Card Holder returns the original Card to the
Operator or a new Card, if the Card Holder is not able to return
the original Card to the Operator. The Card Holder is obliged to
pay to the Operator for the issue of Card duplicate or a new Card
the price according to the topical price-list published in the
Information Portal, if not agreed otherwise.
V. Protection of personal data of Card Holder
5.1 By accepting these Conditions the Card Holder expresses
his approval to processing his personal data by the Operator
provided in connection with the application for Card issue

in accordance with the provision § 5 et seq. of the Act No.
101/2000 Coll. Of the Personal Data Protection as amended
(hereinafter referred to as „Act“) under the following
conditions:
a) definition of personal data: first name, surname, place of
domicile, citizenship, details of electronic contact for electronic
post, number of phone contact;
b) purpose of processing: execution of rights and duties following
from these Conditions, statistics of drawing services through
the Card, evaluation of functioning of LIPNO CARD system and
its improvement, evaluation of quality of services of Acceptance
Points and its improvement, the feedback between individual
subjects of LIPNO CARD system;
c) means and way or processing personal data: automatically as
well as manually in the electronic as well as printed form;
d) period for which the approval is issued: 5 years from Card
issue;
e) subjects to which the personal data may be made available:
Operator, Acceptance Points and Selling Points.
5.2 5.2 The Card Holder has the right of the access to his
personal data, right to personal data protection as well as
other rights pursuant § 21 of the Act. The Card Holder has the
right to withdraw the approval to the processing his personal
data in the written form at any time.
5.3 The Operator is authorised to use the details of the electronic
contact of the Card Holder for distributing the business
announcements concerning the LIPNO CARD system by
electronic mail. The Operator is obliged in case of sending
each individual report to enable to the Card Holder in
a simple way, to withdraw the approval to such use of his
electronic contact free of charge or at the account of the
Operator.
VI. Final Provisions
6.1 The contractual relationship between the Operator and Card
Holder regulated by these Conditions is terminated by the
elapse of the Card validity term. The cards issued in the time
between the April 1 and October 30 in the year are valid in
the time from June 1 to October 30 of the given year. The card
issued in the time between the November 1 of the given year
and March 31 of the following year are valid in this period.
After the elapse of the term of Card validity the Card will be
blocked automatically.
6.2 The law of the Czech Republic is applicable to the contractual
relationships.
