SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — October is National Bully Prevention Month, and
=97/$:<381M/6.2312=-2996=>?./8>=2+@/-97/?:A3>2+?83;?/A+C>9<+3=/+A+</8/==
Thurston High School’s peer group created a video with the message: “Be you.”
In it, students hold signs displaying words bullies have used to hurt them with facts about bullying mixed in
throughout.
The video was played for the entire school Wednesday during lunch.
“The goal is–and the students expressed this–that they really hope that other schools will take initiative after seeing
what they’re doing here and that this will have a domino effect, and hopefully inspire other students and schools to do
similar type projects,” said James Underwood, peer group instructor.
