Our wonderful PTA had a very
productive
meeting
yesterday
afternoon/evening. The plans for the school fundraising Regatta Day are well
under way. We have an amazing bunch of PTA members who are donating
their time and expertise in order to make this day yet another big success. We
would like to thank Sam & Margaret from the R Tucker Thompson for
donating a prize as well as Trina McEntee (and family) for her donation also.
If you, or anyone you know, would like to donate anything that we could use
in order to raise funds we would be very grateful.
For your information the Opua School Board of Trustees has voted in favour of
making the Regatta Day an official school day. We will be taking a day off in
lieu at a later date in the year. If you would like to lend a hand please do not
hesitate to let us know. Thank you.
Our Opua School Hockey representatives had a fantastic day on Tuesday. Both teams played
extremely well and really made us proud. Well done to Alex, Jan, Tommy, Vincent, Hunter, Dom,

ELgregoe’s Magical Message By Jack Bentley Rm 3
We love Elgregoe visiting Opua School.
We are eager to hear his message - it’s cool!
Next time you come I hope you bring your animals again;
Make sure they repeat their message - children should not feel pain.
Nice tricks Elgregoe, I really liked the disappearing pizza;
I was shocked to see that the victim of bullying was Tom the cheetah.
We think you’re great Elgregoe with all your tricks, animals and lovely Sue;
Keep stressing your message, it’s something to look forward to.
Bullying is stupid, listen to Elgregoe and be nice and always follow his message;
Bullying of younger kids always causes a wreckage.
Your message allows young people to grow;
Thank you for coming to this school Elgregoe!

We don’t need put downs;
If we bully we will get to the bully stage;
Not good! We don’t want to become a
bully at any age.
We don’t need to hear the bullies’
sounds.
If the bullies are chasing you, you don’t
want to be found.
The bullies need to learn that there are
boundaries around.
Wits are the best thing to use; They make
the bullies defuse.
We need anti-bullying to keep on rolling;
So take part and be involved to keep the
ball bowling.
Thank you for teaching us to use our WITS
Elgregoe!
By Saalim Stehlin Rm 3
If we bully we will be on the naughty list;
We will end up sitting in the principal’s
office.
If bullies are mean to you, tell them to stop;
Go and tell a teacher or a prefect with a
skip and a hop.
If bullies come to you we don’t bully back,
we say something nice;
Say “hello, what lovely eyes you’ve got.”
Thank you for coming Elgregoe!
