For many years, we have tied our Annual Meeting to a yearly member appreciation event which included dinner and door prizes for those in attendance. KEMBA will continue to have CPUIPGUIFTFFWFOUT)PXFWFSCFHJOOJOH in 2009, they will no longer be combined. Member appreciation events will be held at numerous times throughout the year and will be located in our branches and within the communities we serve. As our Credit Union’s membership grows, hosting numerous types of events at a variety of locations will provide more members the opportunity to participate. We will also continue to host our Annual Meeting in February. This year’s event will not include dinner or door prizes, and will be much shorter in length. The primary purpose for the meeting will be to share our 2008 financials and announce the election results for our Board of Directors. Why is KEMBA making this change? There are two primary reasons for making this change. As your Credit Union grows, so does the size of this event and all the associated costs for the dinner and door prizes. Those who attend our Annual Meeting comprise about 1% of our membership. As you can imagine, the costs associated with this large scale event, in comparison to the percentage of members who directly participate, is considerably unbalanced. Secondly, as previously mentioned, we plan to have many more member appreciation events scheduled throughout the year. Separating these two functions allows us to devote our energies accordingly. Members who truly want to attend the business portion of our Annual Meeting are welcome and encouraged to do so. We can then also devote time and energy to planning OVNFSPVTNFNCFSGPDVTFEFWFOUT during the year, to serve those who like these types of events. KEMBA has had a tremendous year of growth in 2008, and we look forward to a prosperous year in 2009. We invite all members to attend our Annual Meeting to learn more about your Credit Union’s financial strength. We do ask that you RSVP so we can prepare our meeting space accordingly.
