Remembering the Life.... Angeline Vonda Lea was born on July 28, 1937, in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Martin and Regina (Maack) Jacobs. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School and went on to earn her Teaching Certificate from Concordia College in St. Paul. On August 23, 1958, she married Reverend Arthur Weidner at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. The couple moved to Evansville, Indiana where she taught in Darmstadt for a year then Phoenix, Arizona where she taught for a year at Mt. Calvary Lutheran School and later moving to Springfield, Illinois where Art was in seminary. The family later moved to Ottawa, Ontario in Canada, Norfolk, Nebraska, Mesa, Arizona and then Fargo, ND, where she served many years as Church Secretary at Grace Lutheran Church until retirement. In 2000, the family moved to Fergus Falls. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Angeline enjoyed meeting people at the YMCA, her Quilting Circle, her friends at Tops, teaching Sunday School, and was very active in various women’s church organizations, such as The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and very near and dear to her heart, Lutherans for Life where she spoke at many banquets. On Monday, September 5, 2016, Angeline passed away at the NC Little Hospice House in Edina, Minnesota at the age of 79 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Arthur Weidner of Fergus Falls; four children, Amy (Cliff) Hoskins of Costa Mesa, California, Edith (Steve) Opdahl of Minneapolis, MN, Christian (Amanda) Weidner of Minnetonka, MN and Arthur (Cari) Weidner of West Fargo, ND; 11 grandchildren, Samuel, Karen (Taylor), Jonathan, Timothy, Daniel, Christa, Nathan, Philip, Andrew, Audrey and Claire; a sister, Marlene Hanson of Green Bay, WI; four brothers, Frank (Judy) Jacobs and Wayne Jacobs of Fergus Falls, Jim (Carol) Jacobs of Laramie, WY and Fred (Kathy) Jacobs of Fergus Falls along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
