Our three-week Xerox Certified Operator Training for the iGen family of presses is geared towards superb image quality and uptime Today’s digital press operators must be skilled in software applications, troubleshooting, problem solving, and advanced press maintenance. Xerox Certified Operator Training for the iGen family of presses is a threeweek course that begins with one week of dedicated, focused training in a Xerox Training Center. The final 2 weeks are completed at your site with a Xerox SmartPress Production Consultant (SPPC). By combining off-site and on-site training, your operators will get the most out of their 3-week training experience. SPPC’s will train your operators on the systems that manage the iGen press, troubleshooting skills that will help them identify and solve issues, and maintenance activities needed to maintain the press. These skills will guide them to self-sufficiency, which will lead to increased uptime with high quality output. Who is your SPPC? Troubleshooting. The operators are taken through troubleshooting tasks where press issues must be diagnosed. They will use the Call Flow Sequence procedure to help them understand what issues require a service call The complete training is 3 weeks. Training for Week 1 will be conducted at one of two National Customer Training Centers: Rochester, NY or El Segundo, CA. Week 2 and 3 will be conducted at your site. Color and Image Quality. Color calibration and profiling, and the importance of performing these procedures, will be learned. Image quality artifacts are also examined and reviewed for understanding. Site/equipment requirements Your operator’s success is our priority. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that the iGen3, iGen4 or iGen150 press and operators are completely available for the entire training period. Course Overview WEEK ONE: The operators receive a training confirmation checklist that serves as a road map for the entire 3 weeks of the course. As the course progresses, tasks are initialed as completed. TOPICS COVERED : Introduction to the iGen3, iGen4 or iGen150 press. The operators learn the nomenclature, capabilities, and specifications of the press. They learn about the paper path, fuser operation and Xerographic processes and their interaction in the digital print process. Press Interface Operation. Foundational skills on the Press Interface (PI) system, including stock characteristics and stock management, feeder tray programming and set-up, finishing capabilities and programming will be learned. Operators will also be introduced to the Diagnostic application used in press maintenance and service. Digital Front End (DFE) Operation. Your iGen3 or iGen4 press will have one of three DFE’s: Xerox FreeFlow Print Server (FFPS), Creo Spire Print Server, or an EFI Fiery Print Server. The iGen150 press has a FreeFlow Print Server or an EFI Fiery Print Server. Operators will learn the features and functionality of the system, and how features will be applied to the your workflow. Color Theory and Management. The operators will be taken through a color theory review. Color management options available on the press will be discussed, along with daily tasks like Color Check and Color Maintenance Tool. Hands-on maintenance activities will be performed by the operators. They receive hardcopy documentation, which details all maintenance procedures, and also learn how to navigate the online help systems. A few of the maintenance procedures are: • Photoreceptor Belt change • Fuser Roll assembly • Registration glass cleaning Supplies. Operators are taken through the supply cabinets, Customer Maintenance Log, and supply reorder list. They learn how this process, along with the part return process, works with their Xerox service technicians. WEEK THREE: The third week of training is meant for the iGen3, iGen4 or iGen150 to start running live production, with the SPPC serving as a mentor. The SPPC is there to help guide your operators through the start-up. The SPPC will aid the operator in job submission, setup, troubleshooting, performing maintenance tasks, etc. Upon completion of training, the training checklist is reviewed and a final sign-off will occur.
